WBPC May 6th 2013 Wonder

So for all that, I think they will let you in earlier than your PAT, but the entire terminal might not be open before 10 or 10:30, and if you are waiting outside it is not a nice place - sort of like passenger pick up at an airport.

Nancy

Thank you so much, this helps a lot! I'll keep checking availability up until a couple of days before we head out. If there are still rooms showing, we will show up early. We'll have our Kindles and Surfaces so don't mind waiting around.

My husband and I would love to join Geezers . See you after the show . Love the hot chocolate at the cove . Where exactly do you meet up there?

On the Hawaii cruise we had to meet upstairs because they were always using the downstairs for cognac tasting or some other thing.

Looking forward to the Geezer Meets again. I still have my little gold pin that I received when I joined on the 2010 WBTA.

:thumbsup2

There's a pin? :yay:

Do you have a picture?

Since it is Disney, we decided we definately needed a pin. (As I said, a program in progress. Who knows what we will come up with this trip.):scared: The pins are just regular gold safety pins for Geezers and silver saftey pins for GITs.:lmao: We wear them on our lanyards proudly. I will bring some for those who are joining us and have not yet received pins.

someone has a list going over on FB for Mixology Tasting for DIS....I don't see that listed here? :confused3

Went to Magic Kingdom today in the morning/early afternoon. It was BUSY! I don't know for sure, but it seems like any crowd-aleviation created by the new attractions in New Fantasyland is offset by new visitors because of New Fantasyland.:rolleyes1

You're on the list...

Thanks! I appreciate it.

The Geezer Meets - now known affectionately as FOG, (Fellowship of Geezers, Federation of Geezers or just that we now live in a fog :sad2: :rotfl:) was formed on the PC 2008 cruise. We meet nightly, or when we remember and can stay awake at Cove Cafe. We laugh and enjoy whatever drink and food suits our fancy. popcorn:: A Geezer is 60 years or older and we have been joined by GITs (Geezers in Training) that can be any age, but agree to assist Geezers in finding cabins, etc should we forget where we belong. There will be other founding members onboard with us - Cork (Corinne) and Rich, Marilyn (Grandmaz) and John. We would love to have your parents, or any others interested, join us. We are a welcoming, friendly group. :grouphug:

Well I think we qualify for the FOG....physically but not mentally of course. Please add me Sharan and my geezer Dave.

The more the merrier!
We don't keep a list of members. We had one once, I think. I blame menopause. Someone would misplace it or we would forget to add someone. :rotfl:

Ja klar! :) Du sprichst aber auch sehr gut Deutsch! Oder bist du ursprünglich aus Deutschland?
(And just in case, here comes the translation - I just complimented you on your great German! Are you originally from Germany too?)

No, my mothers family is German and my DH is the first in his family to be born in the US. I write better German than I speak... Mom and my DH are fluent in all respects...

Yes, what she said. Just show up, if you remember. List was misplaced long ago, if we ever had one. :rolleyes1 I don't think anyone in this group can remember. :confused3 We will be thrilled to meet you Sharan and your geezer Dave! :thumbsup2

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Home from 20 days at WDW. Blizzard predicted. UGH!

We're such geezers we rarely stay awake late enough for the get together. I need to find our gold pins that we got on the Hawaii. Both of us and my SIL & BIL are old enough to be Geezers, but whether we'll actually show up for the meet remains to be seen.

On the EBPC, crafters met for "stitch & chat" at 3 pm on sea days up in the outlook bar on whichever side was available. Not everybody was stitching but it made a quiet, childfree, "reset" hour in the middle of the day. we had knitters, crocheters, crossstitchers, scrapbookers, quilters, jewelry makers, and just plain chatters. No list for that, either.

GoinPlaces63, my husband is 3rd generation American, but all his forefamily were German. I was the first non-Germanic woman to marry into the family - but I'm the only one left who speaks the language.

Anyone wishing to link early dining, please pm with early dining in the subject line. We have tables of all adults and families with kids.

Happy Day, all!

Linda would you like me to add the crafters info to the first page?

There has been some interest in the Shots Around the Ship. Is anyone interested in organizing it? Please let me know so I can update the first page.

I think it was on the Hawaii cruise that I saw a guy with the "Ellie pin" from the movie "Up". It was SO cute! He had a grape soda bottle cap attached to a safety pin and wore it all the time around the ship.

We did find some Mickey and Minnie safety pins a couple of years ago. They look almost like diaper pins  and we bought sets of those for ourselves and a couple of other founding couples. We then bought gold paint and painted the pin portion. Silly old geezers with the hearts of children! :rotfl::lmao::lmao:

Our anniversary is in June also, so maybe we ought to celebrate too. What year anniversary is it for you Jen?

It's our 13th anniversary (I told him we had to get married in 2000 so as long as he knew what year it was, he'd remember how long we've been married!) so to appease superstition, we're celebrating our "12 year and 11 month anniversary" on May 17th! :goodvibes

Wow, this is really cool...it's the most people I've met on the DIS who speak German yet! I took 4 years of it (about a zillion years ago now, I've forgotten most of it), mostly because where I went to high school was a VERY German area! I wish I were as fluent as I was after 4 solid years of studying...:sad2:

You can probably count on seeing me there at least a couple days. On our last cruise, my friend and I had just started selling some of our knits, so I brought several projects with me...I'd tell DH "time to go to work!", grab my project and go sit on the balcony to knit! Best job EVER!!!:lmao:
Sure, why not? Someone come up with a clever title for it, will you?

Crafter's Cove? Corner? I don't think we could call it what we call our get-togethers in this area...they're known as a "Stitch 'n' {word that rhymes with stitch but isn't meant for polite company}"

We were married in 2000 as well. I have no excuse for forgetting how many years.

That's what we say too! It's so easy to remember.
Our actual 13 year is March 25 so we aren't too far off.

Our anniversary is also June but we will consider this cruise as our anniversary . It will be 46 years for us. Anyone else ?? B
