So excited!!! I was able to book for our party and now I can officially stop worrying about all the planning. This was the last thing that I had to reserve. :cool1:

Ours was $147 and change for 4 adults and 3 kids
No its not part of the dining package and they actually made us pay for that in full up front.. i am assuming everyone else had to also

About the tables it sounded like some of you here already knew where your table was going to be for that night .. how did you find out ahead of time

No way to know where your table is until the night of.....you line up at the podium to check in 30-45 mins before party time, check in and each member will have a bracelet put on their wrist then you will be escorted to your table.

The Dessert Party as ways been a pre-paid event and not on the DP.

Good luck to all those waiting for new dates! it's time for me to unsubscribe....see you all in the park. 3 seeks from right now we'll be boarding our transfer flight in Chicago.

Thankfully got ours for March 10th, 4 adults at 9:10 PM! I was getting nervous about it! My dad has trouble standing for long periods of time due to knee/back issues and I really wanted him to be able to enjoy the fireworks show wihtout having to stand in the hub for an hour ahead of time! Thanks for everyone on this thread who keeps it going!

Does anyone know if there are any restrictions to bringing a tripod to take pictures at the dessert party?

I'm not sure if there is a restriction, but i have seen tripods there. I'm sure if you place it in an area where it won't obstruct or take additional railing space from the rest, that would be ok.

I have heard of stories where people put tripods against the railing in prime locations and problems ensued. Perhaps someone can shed more light on this.

Never been in the dessert party (going on march 11th!!), but this is something I'm interested too.

I think that a full size tripod, even without a rule against them, is not welcome in such a crowded place like WDW. It always will take space from other guests, not even counting the high chances of somebody tripping over your very expensive equipment.

What I'm going to do, besides getting a very early ADR so I can hopefully get a front line table, is taking a gorillapod with me. And I will try to attach it directly to the rail, using my own space without bothering anybody else. Even if you get lucky enough with your table, you should be able to set it just over the table with a good line of sight of the fireworks.

Hopefully anyone can confirm if my plans have any chance of success.

My two cents!

I will be there with you!! It's our first night in disney, so this will be something fun for our family! My kids are 9 and 6 so hopefully they will be able to hang with us.

GREAT!!!! It is our last day of vacation so I am super excited and its my b-day!! Nice present for myself

:cool1: Me too!!! Friday the 29th at 9pm :yay: It is our last night there. We'll be the family of 5 wearing matching Disney t-shirts :woohoo:

WooHoo - I will be wearing my b-day tiara (as soon as I find the right one)!!!!
Its our last night too!!!!
Can't believe the park is open until 3AM!!!!

Once the fireworks begin, you cannot see anything from the tables...they are probably about 10-15 feet back from the railing, and everyone gets up and stands at the railing, thus blocking the view from the tables.

That's why it really doesn't matter if you get a front line table or not...you don't sit at them to watch the show.

If I remember correctly, the top railing is a large aluminum cylinder - I don't know anything about a gorillapod, but not sure how you would attach anything to the railing...I have a photo of our family showing the tables and the railing before the show started, but I don't know how to attach to this message....perhaps if someone tells me how, I can submit it.

I am excited! I saw this thread first thing this morning and was able to book for our anniversary on March 12! It will be me, DH, 5 year old DD, and 1 year old DS. Was $75 for us all. It's our 10th anniversary that day and I have been waiting to book this for months!

This is going to sound dumb but I don't know how to subscribe to a post to get the updates. Can someone help me?!

Thanks :thumbsup2

At the top right of the thread, right where the posts begin at the top of any page, there is menu that says "thread tools;" click the arrow and one of the options should be "subscribe to thread." It will then give you a page that will ask you how you want to be notified. Choose your option and click add.

Sorry for somewhat butting in, but we just did the Dessert Party during our trip a few weeks ago, and if someone were to try to move the table name, they'd have to literally tear it off the table. They are taped down to the table, probably both so people don't try to switch and also so the name tags don't get blown away from any sudden gusts of wind. :thumbsup2

::yes:: Also, the CMs at the podium have a list of tables and who is assigned to what table. If someone is sitting at your table, they'll know and move them. If they don't want to move, security will be called and they will be escorted out. Saw someone try and take a table from someone else (and my chair!) to sit elsewhere. The CMs moved them and when they started to complain, the security threat was brought out. They did move after that.

This is not 100% correct. We've done the dessert party twice and both times have had a front row table (thanks to this thread). Each time we sat at our table to watch the fireworks and had a perfect view. I posted more information on this a few pages back.

Yes, that's true...there are a couple of tables on the end that are closer to the rail...we sat there also...not sure how many are like that, though, so I wanted folks to understand that most guests stand for the show.

A lot of people on this forums have reported successfully viewing the fireworks from their very table, without even needing to stand up. Actually I saw pictures of people watching while seated.

About the gorilla, it's a flexible tripod, very portable, specially designed to attach to bars, trees, fences, etc. Take a look in this link
