Any other Breaking Bad fans out there?

I really loved the first few seasons of this show that are on Netflix. I tried to watch Season 5 on AMC, and I just fell out of the show...boo!

Has the series ended or will it continue with a Season 6? With the exception of the Walking Dead, it's hard for me to keep attention with a show on a week-to-week basis, I like watching them all back to back...so I might have to try to do that with Season 5.

jgh -

There are 8 more new episodes coming, but they do not begin until July (they are being filmed now). Technically those final 8 episodes are supposed to be part of Season 5, which began in July of last year. But because they are spaced so far apart it seems like two separate seasons to most people!

I don't think many people are happy with the way the final "Breaking Bad" season is being broken up. At least in the case of "Walking Dead," they split the season up with only a 2-3 month break before finishing it off in Spring. They don't split one season and put 10 months in between new episodes. That's just crazy! The "Breaking Bad" folks should just call it Season 6 that's coming in July!

I think that a lot of folks feel that the first 8 shows of Season 5 of "Breaking Bad" last year were not that strong. I would say that the last few shows out of the 8 were stronger, with the last one (it aired in early September) being the darkest and strongest one of the bunch. The last one really kind of showed the depths to which Walter White has sunk to save his behind.

Anna Gunn (who plays Skylar) said a few nights ago that these final 8 shows coming soon are "brutal" and "apocalyptic," and that they are "not holding back." So I would say, since there are only 8 shows left and then the series is ending in September, hang in there and try to watch!

Hankum in the middle. :lmao: I doubt she is going to be on BrBa ( that's just not something they have done). I bet she was just visiting the set.

Bryan looks to have a "shiner".

If Jane Kaczmarek does appear on the show, I think it would be a tiny cameo of some kind. Just kind of a 'wink wink' type of thing for the viewers. I don't think she'd be on longer than a few seconds. However, I'm inclined to think that Jane K. would not be appearing in any capacity, only to then have her cover blown by Dean Norris' tweet that showed her on the set. Vince Gilligan is, after all, trying very hard to keep all of the developments in the final 8 episodes under wraps. So I agree - I think it's probably just an on-set visit to watch them film.

Bryan definitely has a shiner (or a fake shiner) - I just wonder who it is that delivers it to him! The first choice would be Jesse, but it could be Hank. And Todd's uncle could decide that Walter owes him more money, owes Todd money or that Walt needs to let Todd take charge of the business or something, and then beats him up!

Can I just say that the Walter, Skylar, Jesse dinner scene was one of my favorite scenes on any show. Ever.

I haven't seen even one episode but after hearing a few people say it was their favorite I just bought season one on DVD so I'm excited! I love finding an excellent show a few seasons in and then watching a few at a time! My favorite show is Lost and I found that during season 4 :)!

Kristina, you'll want to go ahead and get all the other seasons too, because once you start, you will NOT WANT TO QUIT WATCHING!!!

Can July be any further off?? Sheesh!!!!

:happytv:

Can someone give me a spoiler? I haven't watched in awhile and not sure if I'll get to see more but does Hank know by now?

Hi, Kristina!

When I saw your name in this thread I instantly remembered you - you posted a bit in my Halloween Time at DLR Superthread a couple of years back, when you were planning your trip! I'm glad to see one of my Disneyland forum peeps over here!

Keep in mind - people seem to be mixed on Season 1 of "Breaking Bad." There are some who thought it was great. Others thought it was much weaker than the following seasons. I didn't particularly care for the very first episode of season 1, for some reason. I almost felt like it was making the show seem more comedic than it actually is. The other episodes were okay. But...you need to get through season 1 because it lays the groundwork for the seasons that follow.

I think that the show got progressively better with seasons 2, 3 and 4. I haven't fully made up my mind about season 5 yet because we are apparently still in the middle of season 5, waiting for the second half of it to air this summer. But there are certain episodes in seasons 1-5 that pop up here and there and just take you by surprise because of certain shocking scenes or whatever.

I think he does. We should find out for sure when the first of the final 8 episodes airs in July.

I really love the show and hate to see it come to a end. I was happy that BC won a SAG award.

For anyone who has not yet seen the first 8 episodes of season 5 of "Breaking Bad" (which ran from July to early September last year), or if you want to watch them all over again...I just happened to notice today that episode #1 of those 8 - entitled "Live Free or Die" - is set to air on AMC on Monday, February 11th, in the early morning hours. I'm in the PST time zone, so it will be on at 5 a.m. here. Check your listings.

I am guessing that this means all 8 episodes are going to run - but I cannot yet tell if a different episode is going to run every day for 8 days straight, or if AMC is going to run one episode per week, for 8 weeks.

What I am also assuming is that AMC is going to do what they did last year, which is to eventually rerun the complete series in its entirety, from beginning to end (maybe even a couple of times over), before the final 8 new episodes start in July.

That's how I got into "Breaking Bad" last year. Sometime last spring I saw that all of these episodes from each season were running on AMC every night (rather, overnight) - sometimes 3 or 4 of them at a time, back to back - in order, and I thought, "Maybe I'll start watching this." I think they may have actually run 2 full cycles of the entire series before July rolled around because I watched most of the episodes at least 2 times (some of them I watched more than that), and I think I started watching in maybe March or April of 2012.

Eventually those first 8 shows of season 5 should show up on On Demand as well.

So stay tuned to your AMC listings and your On Demand listings, and set your DVR for February 11th if you haven't already watched "Live Free or Die.":yay:

Awesome. Thanks! I'll probably just hold off on watching it anymore until it's completely finished and they have everything available online. :)

Can someone give me a spoiler? I haven't watched in awhile and not sure if I'll get to see more but does Hank know by now?

I think Hank knew/suspected all along but just had it confirmed.
Yup. Hank either just found out or just found proof.

What he does with that info we shall have to wait to see. Walt is his BIL, after all. And it isn't like Hank is above breaking the law to participate in illegal substance use...

I always wondered about that partner of Hank's, too.

When Walt and Jesse went to see crazy Tuco, I thought about how nuts he was...and how much was his own lunacy, how much was his position in that world. I thought about how Walt could turn out like that and wondered how many people end up like that IRL.

I wonder if Walt/Heisenberg will be that crazy at the end and be killed by the new guys, Todd and his uncle or their little gang. Like a Circle of Life kind of thing.

.........................

One time, Jesse was yelling at Walter about how they were partners and equals and he wasn't taking orders from Walt any longer. I started singing, "You're not the boss of me now..."

DS, who was the reason we watched Malcolm in the first place, was not amused.

...but I was. :teeth:

It's very possible that Hank could 'overlook' what he discovered/learned if Walt convinces him that he is truly out of the business forever and that it wouldn't be good for Skylar, Walt Jr./Flynn or baby Holly if he got sent away. I mean, of course, Hank shouldn't overlook any of it, but he could be convinced...

So let's just say that happens, hypothetically - Hank decides to somehow let it go, but meanwhile is secretly amazed and impressed that his dorky brother-in-law Walt was able to pull all of it off.

If that happens (Hank sweeps his knowledge under the carpet and stays quiet), then I see one of two things possibly happening as a result:

1) Marie will end up getting killed through some sort of drug business-related situation and Hank will be out for blood, with Walt as the #1 target; or

2) Somehow Hank will end up getting killed (by Walt or by one of the other drug people) and Walt will go on the run. Hank's partner, Gomey/Gomez, will have to be the one who chases after Walt, because he will see something in Hank's notes about Walt being Heisenberg and finally realize what's been happening.

As for what will happen at the very end of the series (like in the last 2 or 3 episodes), I can't help but return to the same scenario in my mind. I think this is the scenario that I have pondered more than any others:

I think that Walt will end up going on the run because several people from several different camps could be after him at the same time - 1. Hank (or Gomez, taking Hank's place) will be after him; 2. Jesse could be after him (once he finds out that Walt has done some extra things he didn't know about); 3. Quiet, creepy Todd (or Todd's violent "uncle" and his gang) will be after Walt for some reason or other; and 4. Quite possibly, Lydia's people could be after Walt (remember how she was so easily going to have all of those men killed off, even without Mike's help) for some reason. She is not above that sort of thing. Maybe even that Declan guy could go after Walt for whatever reason (remember Declan - the drug guy from Arizona or wherever he was from?).

Also, Skylar could run off with Ted and go into hiding (with Saul's help) to protect baby Holly and Walt Jr./Flynn, or she could just end up getting killed along the way.

In any case, I think that Walt will feel backed into a corner with all of these people on his tail. Some of them will die along the way, of course, but some will find him. And in the middle of all of the madness (after a few more deaths) he will know that the cancer is going to get him anyway, eventually...so he will swallow one of his own chemical concoctions (like the vial of ricin that is currently stashed in the wall) and end it all.

Yes, Walt could go out by someone else's hands, but it would seem fitting (and ironic) if he used one of his own evil scientific creations to kill himself in the end - OR if Jesse took him out. Those two options for Walt's demise would be the most poetic and appropriate.

I've often thought Skylar would manage to testify against Walt, enter witness protection with her kids...and steal some of the money so that they're all set for life. Maybe in a tropical location.

Not only would Skylar beat Walt, she'd beat all the fans who hate her so much, lol.

If anyone takes out Walt, my guess is it will be Jesse...

Just another option. Hank now knows Walt is the cook, but doesn't go straight to him...he knocks on Skinny Pete's door, or Brandon's. Walt finds out and takes them out. Jesse finds out. Remember how angry he was about Combo? I think along the way, Jesse may find out the fates of Mike and Jane...and that would be it. Walt would be done.

Saul was in a Super Bowl commercial. He wasn't Saul, of course. But I was trying to yell, "It's Saul!" over everyone else. My throat was hurting, but I was so excited, "It's Saul! It's Saul!" :teeth:

I'm enjoying reading everyone's ideas and wish people would expand on them, lol. Like...zipping along, why does Hank go to Skinny Pete?

It's one of the realest shows out these days! My friend got me hooked and now I can't stop watching it lol. :happytv:

For some reason I missed most of the commercials this year - usually I try to pay attention to them. So I missed Saul! The one ad I saw (and loved) was the Clydesdale/Budweiser ad. I was actually wiping tears from my eyes over that commercial - whoever thought of it is brilliant!

I agree - I love reading all the different ideas that people have about Breaking Bad. Plus, it gives us all something to discuss and do until the show comes back in 5 months. We need to kill some time! It's fun to run different scenarios around and see which ones sound most plausible.

Here's something else to ponder - and I wonder if I somehow missed a mention of this in the show, or if it hasn't been addressed yet...

Gus Fring's family. Where are they? WHO are they? We know that after Tuco was killed in season 1, that pesky Salamanco family wouldn't leave it alone and it took quite a while to get rid of them.

But...Gus mentioned "the children" when he was eating dinner at his house with Walt or Jesse. He said the children didn't like the fish stew or whatever it was that he served. There was no sign of them running around the house so he obviously kept them hidden elsewhere so they'd be protected. Maybe he didn't even tell Mike where his family was?

What if someone from Gus' family also joins in the chase after Walt? It could be that the missing Fring family hasn't been seen yet and will suddenly surface in the first episode in July. Or...is there any possible way, within reason, that the boring Lydia (who we don't care about even though we know that something suspicious is up with her) could have been romantically involved with Gus and is secretly out for blood?? She acts all jittery and afraid of being killed or caught at any moment, but she could secretly be plotting against Walt.

Remember the Flash Forward that started this season with Walt in the restaurant and then meeting that guy and buying the firearms.
