Okay, this is a spin-off of the girls named after fathers thread...

I don't really have any men's names made in to females' names, but I do have a couple of bad family names.

Great Grandmothers: Mozella Earl (she went by Ella) and Fannie Mae
Great Grandmother nicknamed "Jessie" after a pig b/c they were both mean.

I have a couple of cousins that are siblings. Oldest is name Billy Don and his younger sister was named Misty Dawn. Well, I think I was in my 20's before I understood her middle name was Dawn and not Don like her brother. :lmao: If you new my aunt and uncle, it was entirely possible!!!

What have you got? Give us your worst family names!

Althea is a name that runs in my family. Everyone who gets stuck with it uses their middle name or a nickname. (Sorry if anyone's named Althea on the Disboard)!

Grandfather is Marvin Adolf. (born 1901) Had I been a boy, I would have been Mark Marvin. God must love me!!!!!!!

Philadelphio and Literio (yes, both were Italian ;) )

My father's maternal grandparents were Nellie Mable and Ellsworth Eldewaine...seriously, how much worse can it get....:rotfl2:

Thankful. Luckily, it was used as a middle name. It's all over the family tree on my father's side. I'm just thankful they didn't use it for me!

Let's see on my mother's side we have

Grandma: Earline May

Aunt: Mildred Louise

Aunt: Jeannie Earline

On my Dad's side for the win:

Great Aunt: Atilda Pinkna Love Devine Isabelle Syckamore Sarah Caroline.
AKA Great Aunt Attie:rotfl2:

Her parents couldn't decide what to name her so she literally was named after every woman alive at the time in the family. My Grandma said she never complained about Mary Daphne:lmao:

Someone on my mother's mother side when a family history was done. Found out that in the past had someone named Oreo or something starting with O name similar to that at least I think that is right. It's been awhile since that family history was done.

My grandma was named Hilda. When I was much younger I used to think that the two worst female names were Hilda and Bertha. I then thought it was destiny when I learned that my dh's grandmother was named Bertha. Pretty unattractive names. I know grandma/great-grandma names are very fashionable right now, but somehow I think these will remain closeted.

My great-grandmother had a sister named Junie Edward whom everyone called "Bank". I'm not sure where she got the nickname.

The same great-grandmother named her two daughters Margaret Willette and Onnie Ray.

My great grandmother's name was Fabiola. Have never heard that one before.

My father's maternal grandparents were Nellie Mable and Ellsworth Eldewaine...seriously, how much worse can it get....:rotfl2:

wow... my fil's middle name is Ellsworth. Its tradition to name your first son the fils middle name in his family. That did NOT happen... No way, no how! :scared1:

My grandmother was Irma Lee, called Nonna. Grandfather was Archibald Waggoner. He went by Archie. And he named mypther Eleanor Archibald! She has always hated her name.

ETA: I forgot about DHs uncle, Audis Venzelas. I think he was named after a Greek king ,or so the story goes...

One grandmother named Leona Belle
Another named Allie Etta
Grandfather named Ira Elace (pronouced Ellis)

I found out after I was an adult that had my mother known it was a family name I would have been named her favorite name - Mehitabel Lou, and called HettyLu.:crazy2:

Thank you, God.

My paternal grandmother's name is Beulah, she's 96. Grandpa's name was Clyde.

 You win hands down! :rotfl2:

Eh, the only one I can think of was my great-grandmother who lived to the age of 95. Her first name was Ida. Everyone in the family called her Da for short.

My maternal grandfather was Harvey Woolsy Hyde
Maternal grandmother Sina Reed Hyde

The name Risden is unusual and runs down my paternal side. Unfortunately my brother was the last Risden Fountain but my grandson #1 is Risden Thomas but his last name is not Fountain.
