WBPC May 6th 2013 Wonder

Thanks you guys!! :flower3:

I got it! I can print out my own thanks. :)
The 2 transatlantics we did there were people who ordered lanyards and did the name tags. I appreciated it but always thought that it must have been very stressful & a lot of work for those folks. This seems like a more easygoing way to do it.

Yes...we did them on Hawaiian cruise...I think it was 200-300 lanyards....can't imagine to print, cut and get them ready in those numbers :)

Are there plans to schedule private tasting(s) for our group? Can't wait 'til the 5th to book the extras!:cool1:
I would be interested in group tastings :drinking1

Looking forward to Feb 5th, also. We will be Gold after this cruise

Also, is anyone interested in doing a stateroom crawl? Basically "tour" one of each kind of room. I've never seen an ocean view stateroom and I'm sure other people would like to see other kinds as well. Anyone on the thread have a suite? :)

We would enjoy the stateroom crawl, also. :goodvibes We did one on the 2010 WBTA.
I have noticed on some of the longer cruises, people dress up for formal and semiformal nights. On our past longer cruises, Rich has worn a tux. He has a cute mickey cummerbund and tie. So what are the guys wearing for 1) Formal and 2) semiformal?

I do coat and tie for formal and Palo, no coat for semi-formal, and dockers and polo shirt for other dinners. My wife wears a nice dress for formal and semi-formal. We have Pirate outfits that DW made for Pirate night.
So this is weird, but are we having the same conversation about formal/informal on the Facebook page? Either that or I'm having MAJOR deja vu.

Do you guys do door magnets? Its one of my favorite ways to prepare for a Disney cruise. I have a big Toy Story themed door, but now I'm thinking of making another door theme so I can switch it out since this cruise is a little longer.

cool! :thumbsup2

Thanks for posting on DIS, don't like facebook. :badpc:

We do door magnets. ::yes::

I think I've got the rest of our travel plans taken care of!

We're flying into Ft. Lauderdale on Sunday the 5th & have a reservation at a Holiday Inn Express near that airport. We've got shuttle reservations with MJT transportation the next morning to get to the Port of Miami - hopefully around 11:30.

in LA - we're catching a Karmel Shuttle at 11:45 to SNA for our 3:05 flight. So - we can take our time getting off (being dragged off!) the ship and will have plenty of time to get to & then chill at the airport.

I guess the next step is start working on the FE's ... we're doing cabin gifts & maybe a few extras for the kids - depends on what I can find between now & then.

WOW! great job. :worship:

All I have done is; paid off cruise.:confused3

Jackson's grammie called DCL and was told:

May 8th: Formal
May 13th: Semi-Formal
May 14th: Pirate
May 18th: Formal

Thanks for the info! :thumbsup2

We will print out our own nametags. :)

Can someone point me to an updated DIS rollcall? I checked the one on the original webpage site and find that it hasn't been updated with the new cruisers and many of the old cruisers who are no longer on this cruise are still on that list.

We are down for shots around the ship, and depending on what the tasting is that too. Also I would enjoying to a stateroom crawl, and if whatever we end up in is needed, I'm willing to let people take a look, we are VGT though so we wont know exactly what it is until closer.

Is there any interest in a Secret Micky exchange? I've seen it mentioned a couple of times but nothing has been organized I don't mind organizing it although I haven't actually participated in one yet but it sounds like fun, also any interest in a recipe exchange or anything like that? :confused3

Super excited for the 5th!!!! Can't wait to book Palo brunch and I think we may do Dinner this time, might wait to schedule that on the ship to see which night is the Parrot Cay menu, I HATE that menu :crazy2: Need to get Pirate garb and finish booking things, two hotel nights, one here in Vancouver and one in fort Lauderdale/Miami (havent decided where) and then we are thinking of renting a car for the day in LA. *sigh* the list never seems to end although it helps keep me busy which I like. I also have a TON of stuff to do for the wedding, just finishing designing the invitations this weekend; then to teach myself how to emboss. Can't wait to board the ship get a drink and just relax in the SUN!!!!! ... it's rainy and grey here... typical Vancouver winter, but it's better than snow!

As far as theme nights of, there might be a Mexican night and maybe a Tropical night too. They had a Tropical night on the 2008 PC we were on but I don't think they did on the 2011. So who knows? John will take his one and only Hawaiian type shirt just in case. He never wears it at any other time. Well they don't over here.

Mexican night many guys get the Guayabera type shirt which you can find cheapish on the internet. On the 2008 PC, my husband John and our table mate Richard(Mom323's other half) turned up in exactly the same ones and no doubt will again this time.:lmao: I think she has already mentioned that. Lots of funny Mexican themed gear too and ladies in embroidered blouses and dresses. You can pick those up in Mexico at the ports too. There will probably be a Mexican band onboard then too for a show.

I added this to the first post, just let me know what you want it to say. :thumbsup2 On past secret mickeys they had a list of questions for people to answer. Such as age, favorite color, character and any allergies and so on. Also if you were celebrating an event. What day you would reveal who you were if that was something you wanted to do.

Are you interested in organizing the recipe exchange?

Cool, I am going to put together a questionnaire for people to answer and if there is enough interest ask for budgets/how many gifts and put together a little meet for the reveal. As soon as I've got it together I will post it, I can pm it to you for the first page too if that works?

I can certainly organize a recipe exchange. I was thinking to do it kind of like a FE exchange, everyone can pick appetizer, main or dessert (or multiple if they wish) and then print out a copy to give to everyone else? or is there another way this is usually done that works better? I'm open to ideas, and also to see if there is enough interest :thumbsup2

I would like to participate in Secret Mickey too. FE is too much stuff (giving and getting) but SM is right up my alley. :thumbsup2

We are also booking on the 5th & hope its not too late to get a brunch, we weren't able to get one on our last Dream cruise, so its time!

Also we are renting a car in LA too! Our plan is to drive down the coast to San Diego - stopping in La Jolla and Mission Beach - where we fly out the next day.

Hope everyone is having a fantastic Saturday! We have hockey tickets tonight to see the Tampa Bay Lightning (our NHL team here.) I like hockey but the real treat is after the game when we go to Krispy Kreme for HOT DONUTS NOW. :cloud9:

Is there someone organizing the tastings? If so we would be interested in attending.

Just emailed out a FE update. Please let me know if there are any changes that need made. Have a great Saturday everyone! :goodvibes

I haven't been down to San Diego in so long, would love to do that, but we leave out of LAX, I think we might stop by Downtown Disney, and I REALLY want to eat at the Cheesecake Factory... hate that we don't have one :(

Count us in for the recipe exchange.

hello everyone - catching up on the disboards updates and chats - we're looking forward to an early spring according to our wiarton willie groundhog :rotfl2:

Count us in for Secret Mickey and all roaming magnets! As much as I'd love to provide our cabin #...we are one of the GT folk.

Also, count us in for shots around the ship, as well as the stateroom crawl. Again, can't supply a cabin # or category yet:worried: It might be fun to combine an adult scavenger hunt with shots????

We look forward to meeting all of you and welcome the new families :):):)

Disney has offered a LOT of tastings on recent cruises. You sign up and pay at guest services. I see no sense in reinventing the wheel when they are so readily available, and hassle free. Just get the like minded disers together, sign up and go.

There were some issues finding venues for private meets on the last couple long cruises.

We've been on quite a few of the tastings. :drinking1 :woohoo: If someone was interested in arranging some of the tastings for the group we would be happy to be included. If not we will sign up just like everyone else.

Don't cancel yours. :goodvibes
The one they are planning will probably be held late in the evening. Folks with children and geezers like us wouldn't be awake for theirs. :lmao:
