This is VERY helpful!! Thanks Janet! :goodvibes

Also this http://espnwwos.disney.go.com/events/cheer/varsity-national-dance-team-championships/

It is the national dance team competition. The good thing is that they are at the all star resorts and one of the moderates (CSR?). But because they have filled that up, the rest of us value folks booked Pop. I think they will be mostly at ESPN and Hollywood Studios, and most will depart Sunda or Monday. I don't think they will affect park crowds too much as they compete all day Sat and Sun.

Thanks for this great information! :thumbsup2 That explains why all the Values are full this weekend! :) I enjoy the dance kids! :goodvibes

(but it does make me miss the days when my girls were dancing.)

Don't I feel sheepish:blush: I looked up my room # again and it was 4225. Definitely got a preferred room. So sorry for the mix up. I still think I'll go for the standard room this time around. MNSSHP here we come! Now back to my regularly scheduled lurking!

Don't feel bad at all!! Just happy you got what you paid for! Like many of other POPers, we choose to book standard and request lakeview. I have never been disappointed in all my locations. :)

Here now, arrived last night. I'm in the 70's bldg. 1. I like the location, but the
tour group kids were hanging out by the end of the bldg. socializing at 3am! Had to get up to put earplugs in and that took care of the issue. ;)
Didn't eat at the food court yet, but the options look very good.
I'm really enjoying the Pop, and will be booking again for May. :)

Well, you have the right attitude! :thumbsup2 Happy that it wasn't a deterrent for you and you are having a great time. :goodvibes

Thank you  Yes, we needed tickets, and that's what we booked. :)

Perfect! BTW, peeked in on your PTR... your DD sounds amazing for all she has endured (as all of you). Any questions on POP, so many people on the thread have a wealth of info to share. :)

Hope Angel's trip is truly magical!!

LOL!! Yeah this time I am only going for 5 nights. I am planning on arriving around noon on Sunday and I am taking the last flight out (10pm) on Friday so that should give us a good bit of time. She'll ask for 2 days off and then we'll plan to spend time together when she's not working. She is REALLY struggling. :( She's never been away from home like this and it is taking it's toll on her. I don't think she ever thought she was going to miss us like this! Seriously!! She is my tough cookie...NEVER cries about ANYTHING kid! Well actually she's an adult, she's not even a teen anymore... :faint:

I must say when I went for 11 nights just a few weeks ago, it was MUCH different than I had ever expected. She was only able to stay with me the first two nights and the second night she was gone by 5:30am to get in line to check in for housing! There were so many things she had to do that I was on my own way more than she and I had ever expected!! I will admit at times it was kinda lonely by about day 10, I was starting to 'feel' it. It was just 'different'. Going into the parks solo can be fun sometimes but time after time...Well...I was missing having someone to ride with...talk to about everyday life, KWIM? I think the 5 days will be better on this 'momma' too, for the times that I am by myself while she is working. I don't mind some 'me' time. But the last trip...WOW!!!! I think I got a little too much 'ME' time!! :rotfl2:
So, Janet, you may not want my life after all!! :lmao:

Well, how 'bout a dose of it now and then?? :goodvibes I'm not sure how I would handle the solo time either, as I so enjoy being around and talking with people. :) One of my favorite things to do in the morning at POP is get my diet coke and my chocolate crossiant and sit either in the food court or outside and people watch ... waiting for my beautiful DD to get up ....

I was in Disney early this month (over marathon weekend) and met up with a few DISers, one of them, Grumpy Grandma, who stays at POP too (when not on her DVC stays :)) We had a blast!! Love our Mama Linda! I think you came in after that, didn't you?? Just noticed you live in MD, not too far away from this Phila suburbs girl. Funny, I thought you lived in Florida for all the time you have been to Disney! :)

IMO, 5 days sound much better. Enough time to get your Disney fix, but not too long to feel the sting of too much ME time :) I totally get it. If you are around in December when a few of us are going let us know! Would be happy to meet up with you. :goodvibes

Thank you so very much Janet

I wasn't quite sure where to post this, but maybe one of my fellow Pop fans can help out. DSis and I are staying at Pop for a short trip in April. We've got a 8:05 am ADR for CRT. What would be the best way to get there from Pop? We'll have my car, but I'd rather not drive.

Take a taxi to the Contemporary and walk to MK or take the monorail from there. I looked it up because our steam train tour meets at 7:15 am on a day the park opens at 9:am. The buses start an hour before park open.

I thought the buses started running around 6:30 for early ADRs, but that there aren't as many running as there are at an hour before park opening?

That's what I thought, too, because in December we were able to take a bus to Animal Kingdom for our pre-park ADR at Tusker House. I just wasn't sure if things would be the same for Magic Kingdom since I've mostly seen people post that they took a taxi or drove themselves to the TTC.

That would be nice to have a bus. I think maybe they told me that because the train tour is so very early, and only a few people do it?

I searched, and found several posts about 8:05 CRT, and the responses recommended being at the bus stop at 7am, and that a taxi would give you an extra half hour sleep.

That early, I think it's risky to try to take the bus.

Thanks! We're early risers, anyway, so that extra bit of sleep wouldn't matter much to us.

Ask the front desk about the Breakfast Bus.

I'll probably ask, just to be sure. Thanks, everyone!

There will be lots of people at Pop catching buses for early ADRs at all the parks. Also, that first week of April, they are doing early EMHs at MK starting at 8:00, so depending on when your trip is, the park may be open.

:woohoo: Only 2 weeks? Seriously you need to stay longer...:teeth:

Yes, we had a great time, and looking for more come December!! :thumbsup2

My DD21 and I are planning on being there in September, can't wait. Had reservations at the Poly, but changed them to POP.

Just got here tonight and are in love with our room. I admit I was having resort envy when our DME bus stopped at AoA but all that is gone now :) We have 2460 in the 50's and it is perfect! As private as you are going to get and you see the Illuminations fireworks from inside our room! What a pleasant surprise :)

:woohoo: Can I have your life?? :goodvibes How nice for you and your DD to go back together. :flower3:

Funny, we probably live less than a 100 miles from each other!!

I would love to come back to Disney in December but unless DD gets to extend her CP, I doubt that is likely to happen this year. We have a trip planned for younger DD's graduation Celebration in June for 8 nights (her and a friend, me and no DH), we have a 7 night cruise on the Fantasy scheduled for October for our 25th wedding anniversary with maybe a couple of days at WDW. And my friend wants to do a 3night on the Dream in May to celebrate our Birthdays! But I don't know if that is going to work or not...
And I'll have to come down in August to help DD pack up to come home from the CP unless she gets an extension if she even applies for one. So I think I'll be in WDW quite a bit this year!! :rotfl2:
