"Excuse me, your child can NOT go on stage with Mickey":Jan 2013 TR! updates x 3! 6/5

What is that from the Kringla Cafe? It looks way yummy! Too bad about Test Track. It was still down for refurb when we went.

I'm late to the party, but joining in. Looking forward to reading about the rest of your trip.

It was a Kringla Sweet Pretzel. Not sure of the exact ingredients but definitely yummy!

You haven't missed much! Glad you're here:cool1:

Yay for the photopass cd coming in! Yay!
Aw man, that’s no good that the rain got TT down, and thanks to that, the other rides were just crazy messes!

Haha, I totally get that about the WS Cm costumes, they’re so awesome, and I love some of them! I love that you guys stopped for characters, I find that they make WS so much more enjoyable, I mean, there’s really only so much you can do in it. Although I think it depends on the person/who you’re with, Paige wasn’t the hugest Epcot fan, so we’ve only got a half day planned there for the upcoming trip.

I like the idea of snacking around the world! Although I do feel like I’d get so full so quickly! Haha.

Excited to read more!!

So when I left off, we had just grabbed a snack in China. Next, we had a character stalking mission! It was about 12:40 and I knew Mulan would be out at 1. I wasn't sure where exactly she met so I asked the CM at the door to the theater for the China movie and she said she usually meets in the garden but because of the weather she would most likely be in the theater today!

So we sat down to wait where it seemed like she would be meeting and two other families were doing the same. Soon enough a photopass photographer came in and said she was pretty sure this was Mulan's meeting spot today but didn't have confirmation. Mulan finally came in and brought with her the HUGE line of people who were apparently waiting for her outdoors and they tried to tell us that we would have to go to the back of this line. I was pretty annoyed because clearly we had been waiting in the right spot but I wasn't gonna cause a scene. However, the photopass photographer stepped in and said we were all here before she was and let us have our rightful places in line!

Mulan was pleasant and spoke about Mushu and we were on our way!

We decided to backtrack to Mexico since we hadn't gotten a snack there and wanted the nachos from the QS place and then cut across to the other side of the WS.

After our snack, we decided to meet Duffy, and learned his story from the books in line.

Yeah the rides were definitely all messed up that day since TT was down! Luckily we can live without them so we weren't too annoyed!

The costumes are awesome! I'm definitely making it a point to get pictures of them in the future.

I'm not the biggest Epcot fan but character stalking makes it so much better! There's much more of that to come.:rotfl2: I've actually got Dbf to the point where he enjoys meeting characters (although sometimes he only tolerates my stalking behavior)!

Snacking around the world is definitely filling but pretty yummy:rotfl:

Thanks so much for reading. I'm trying to update as fast as I can!

Courtney, I just love your TR! And I'm so happy you had such good character meets. The picture of you both with Mulan is beautiful; I love that your outfits all match! :) And the pics with Duffy are sooooo sweet.:cloud9: What is it about Disney characters? Like your DBF, my husband starts out tolerating us with the characters, then before you know it, he's spotting them, noting times and telling us where we need to be! :lmao::rotfl2:

Anyway, even if the weather didn't always cooperate, so glad you had a great time!pixiedust:

Aw you're too sweetpixiedust: Thank you!

The outfit matching wasn't even planned! I guess we just spend too much time together:lmao:

I love love love meeting characters. Your husband and my bf would definitely be friends!!:rotfl2: He wants to act like he doesn't care about meeting characters but can't help getting into!

I adore the pictures they take while you're meeting the characters, not just the posed ones. We end up with so many with us laughing and smiling with the characters that are so priceless. Especially for Dbf. I let it be wildly known that I'm a 6 year old at heart but he tries to keep it hidden:rotfl: but the pictures from character meet and greets of him are the few times I feel his true happiness and inner child are captured in pictures and they make the price of the photopass CD so worth it for me! Sorry that was such a long-winded paragraph:mic:

I would love to hear more about your family! Do you have any TRs?

loving this so far, can't wait to find out where the Title "Excuse me,your child can NOT go on stage with Mickey" comes in, really got me curious!;):coffee:

Yes! Me too!

Really enjoying your TR. POP looks amazing!!! I can't wait to go to DTD, you make it sound so fun.

If you need a job, head on down to GA. We have a nursing shortage here.

Can't wait to read more!

ahaha I would tell the story now but that would ruin the fun when we get to that part in the TR!:lmao:

Thank you! Pop was definitely amazing. We ended up getting a room only discount and it was only $550 for the 8 days so even if it hadn't been so wonderful it would've been an awesome deal so we were amazingly happy when it turned out to be so great!

DTD is definitely fun! Dangerous for the wallet but fun:lmao: I highly recommend Cirque if you can fit it in your trip/budget (it can be pricey)!

It's so frustrating that just about everywhere else has a huge nursing shortage! We're just starting to try to work out the logistics of relocating!

So we left off in Canada and were headed to the UK! At this point it was about 2 pm. Around 1, we heard from Jen and she said they had gotten to the park and were checking out future world first. They rode Spaceship Earth and I think Finding Nemo and then met some characters!

cont in next post!

While we were heading to France, Presley was meeting Chip and Dale and I guess wasn't too sure about how she felt about them!

Photo0137FourBySix by RN Courtney, on Flickr

At first when we got to France, I jumped in the already huge line for Aurora who wasn't out yet. Then I realized Belle would be out 10 minutes after Aurora and since you can't meet her for a traditional meet and greet in MK anymore, we decided to leave Aurora for MK and head over to Belle.

DSCN0278 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

DSCN0280 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

DSCN0281 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

The line for Belle was insanely long before she was even out but we waited anyway! I took these pictures to pass some time. When Belle did come out, I was amazed at the number of people walking past who didn't recognize her in her blue dress! So many people thought she was Alice!

DSCN0283 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

These ducks visited us while we were in line!

DSCN0285 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

DSCN0286 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

I think Chris asked her where the Beast was and she went into a VERY elaborate story about him and Lumiere. We were pretty impressed.

Photo0144FourBySix by RN Courtney, on Flickr

The funniest part of the interaction was when Belle realized there were people on the walkway behind us who would get in the picture and turned around and said "Ok, goodbye now!" and they didn't understand.

We got an ice cream crepe from the stand in France. It was good but we have way better crepe places in the city!

Next we went to Morocco!

DSCN0290 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

DSCN0291 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

DSCN0293 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

I think the Morocco area might have been one of my favorites. It was so pretty! We were gonna get in line for Aladdin and Jasmine but this wasn't even the end of the line and we couldn't even see where they were so we decided to wait til MK!

DSCN0295 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

We went to Tangierine Cafe and got the Moroccan Kefta Sandwich which was so good! I think it was our favorite thing we ate in the WS (other than the nachos in Mexico!)

Onto Japan! Now it was 3:45 pm!

We went to the Katsura Cafe and got a few things to share. The Tokyo Sushi Sampler, Miso Soup and Teriyaki Chicken.

DSCN0304 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

The chicken teriyaki was very good. The sushi and miso soup not so much. They reminded me of the sushi you can buy prepackaged in a supermarket here.

DSCN0305 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Next we were in America where our snack was a funnel cake!

I'm at my photo limit again, so next time we'll continue with America and move through the rest of the WS. Thanks for reading!

Character stalking is the best part! I love it in any park, but it really does help in Epcot, though it does kind of end up with a ton of running back and fourth for me, haha!

How nice of the pp photographer to say that you guys were first!! I wouldn’t have been impressed if it was the other way around!

Ahahaha, the Canada pavilion is pretty much a little mountain tourist town, that’s what they all look like…except Maple syrup is WAAAAY cheaper up here! Lawl.

Oh my goodness she’s so adorable & excited with all the characters! Yay! I love the custom autograph book, and etsy! So much amazing stuff on there. You know, there really isn’t enough in Canada, I would really like a snack stand with like, poutine and stuff, it’d be delicious!

Haha, I love it when the people you’re with get the knack of taking more than just the posed pictures, the candid ones are awesome! Good call on jumping over to Belle, it sucks that you can’t really meet her anywhere else anymore. And I just don’t understand why people don’t recognize her in the blue dress, like, she spends more than half the movie in that dress, and why would Alice be brunette?? I get when she’s got the cloak on over top and it’s kind of confusing, but really, still, lol.

Man, I’ve got to eat at least a snack or something in Japan next time, I love all that kind of food and sushi and stuff, but didn’t even realize the restaurant was there til my last trip, haha, looks tasty!

Haha there was definitely tons of running around and sitting around and waiting for characters to show up (and trying to figure out where they would show up)!:rotfl2:

Hahaha I thought of you when I was looking back on our Canada pictures cause I remember you saying that in your TR! I've only been to Canada once on a French class trip in middle school to Quebec and Montreal but the little I did see was much more exciting than the Epcot version:lmao:

I was so glad she loved characters! A girl after my own heart :rotfl: I was so nervous she'd be too scared! Etsy is awesome and another dangerous discovery for my bank account. A Canada stand with poutine would've been very amazing!

The whole Belle thing is so weird. Why she is so hard to find now that she has her own village is quite silly. I have NO idea why people were so confused:confused3 It's so clear that she's Belle and looks nothing like Alice. I totally don't get it. It's not like B&tB is like an unpopular Disney movie...

The restaurant is totally out of the way, up a huge flight of stairs and I don't even think there was signs for it so I can totally see how you could miss it!

Your photos are gorgeous! I love the ones of Presley and the characters. There's just something about the joy on a kids face when they see them. The chip and Dale ones are too much!

Yay for meeting a good Belle! She's consistently been one of the best we've met.

Snacking around WS is one of the things I've always wanted to do. Sounds like a great day despite the rain!

We didn't let the rain put a damper on our fun! It did make it a little chilly though.:goodvibes

Happy Superbowl everyone! We will be having tons of food in a bit so I thought I'd take a few minutes to post an update now before the coma sets in!

So if you remember, we left off in America!

Our Italian snack: gelato!

DSCN0335 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

We got the gelato sandwich. It was very good but it was so cold and rainy at this point that I couldn't truly enjoy it!

Next we were in Germany and I LOVED the trains!

For our German snack we went into Karamell-Kuche aka heaven! It smelled so amazing in there, I wanted one of everything. We got the chocolate caramel brownie which looked amazing but only tasted half as good. I thought it'd be hot and the caramel would be melty and gooey and yummy but it was cold so I was a little disappointed.

I just love all the pictures from World Showcase! I LOVE the World Showcase. I'm always afraid that perhaps I've taken too many pictures of it. (Of course, that wasn't a problem on this last trip of mine! haha) But, you're pics in this installment have me decided that you can never have too many pics of WS!
