8 Night Magic out of Galveston Cruisers

Fantastic! Thank you so much for your reply. What time/where did you have to meet for the 7:15 bus? Just curious how early we need to be up & ready to go.

Do we meet and go to the bus together? What about those who use the elevators to go to deck 1. I know on previous excursions all were lined up on the stairs. Concerned about bus being able to handle my scooter.

There was another ship in port with us so we were at the Navy pier. Pirate night was the night before so we had a late night and DD didn't want to get up. We weren't off the boat till 9:45 and wished we had more time in Key West :(

We were planning on walking to the Butterfly Conservatory. Where is the other pier? Are all 8 nt docking here?

The latest bus back from MK was on the schedule for 9:30. Not sure if they ran later or not.

All ashore for KeyWest was 7:30 am with all aboard at 12:45. We docked at the Navy pier and were taken via trolley or train to the Mallory Square area. Our trolley driver told us to be back for the trolley to the ship no later than 12:15. I'd love to do the flight over to the Tortugas but felt it wasn't enough time to be worth it. At best you'd have 5 hours total.

Are any of these handicap accessible?

Hey all! I just finished scanning in my Navigators from the 8-night out of Galveston. They are on my photobucket account and the password is "disfriends." They are not in proper order, but I titled all of them, so you can figure out which one corresponds to which day. Hope you enjoy!!

:thumbsup2

Says you need a password to view. What did I do wrong?

Character breakfast times are based on your dinner seating. There is an early time and a late time.

That's the only thing I don't like about early dinner--it means early breakfast the last day a s apparently early breakfast with the characters!

Just returned from this cruise and it was amazing!!! We had the most excellent weather:cool1:

The buses started to leave for WDW once the ship cleared customs. There were a TON of us waiting to get off the ship, but they took a bit longer than what was stated. SHould have been off by 615, but cleared at 630-ish. Then onto a bus and we left. We definitely didn't wait for our bus to fill. And the Epcot bus that left just before us, was not full either. Was a super quick and quiet ride to Epcot.

I found the parks really busy. Did 3 of the parks, Animal Kingdom was the quietest. MK was crazy. There were a bunch of Brazil tour groups roaming around.

I found leaving the parks was just as smooth. Even though the had 'scheduled' times to leave, the buses continuously ran. They had a CM waiting at the line at MK with a cooler full of water for us.

The return shuttles started at around 300. AT MK, they were just assigned a number in the resort bus line. It was the last one on the right.

Any other questions, ask away!!! It was an amazing amazing cruise:)

Did anyone stay late at the parks! I plan on squeezing every last minute there possible. Plus I want to see wishes!!!

We had the opposite experience at DHS... with our Disney Jr. character breakfast reservation, they let us in and we were able to start our breakfast before the park opened. After getting such an early start, we were ready for some real food anyway!

It's too bad your conch train tour was so bad. :( We did a "wait and see" and ended up getting our own tickets for the trolley tour when we got there.

If anyone else is thinking about it, getting the tickets was really easy; the ticket booth is RIGHT THERE where the free shuttle drops you (in fact it's the same company) and it was less than $30/adult and free for kids under 12. It didn't include any museums, but they did have discount packages that included museum entrance. We mostly wanted the option of hopping on and off, which the Disney excursion didn't allow. We hopped off at the Southernmost Point and did a bit of shopping and took some pics; the only frustrating part was the wait for a shuttle to take back into "town." We also just felt like we didn't have enough time in Key West!!!

Disney is charging for kids under 12 and according to the site they are free. The adult prices are pretty close in price. There was only one time for tour as well so I thought we would be okay just purchasing tickets right from the train and not Disney.

Wonder why they arranged the port time to be so short?

The DCL port adventures list for KW says $0 for kids 2 and under, $16 for ages 3-9, and adult price $32 for everybody 10+. I was glad we did it on our own and went straight to the Old Town Trolley ticket booth where the kids were free! They also offer a military discount, just fyi.

My understanding is just that it was a short visit in KW in order to be able to make it back to Galveston by Saturday morning.

A couple of questions for those of you who have already cruised with kiddos:

1. Did anyone have a child in the overlap age range, where they could choose to go to Oceaneer's activities & Edge (11-12 years old) or Edge & Vibe (14 y/o)? Did they have to choose one club to participate in for the entire cruise or were they allowed to go between clubs?

2. Also, I didn't see any mention of the pajama party that was listed as a "must do" on another thread. Was it offered on your cruise?

Thanks!!!

They can go to any of the clubs as long as they meet age requirement. Sometimes the staff will bend the age rules a little so your younger sibling can be with his/her older sibling. On our first cruise, my younger one wasn't quite old enough to be in Oceaneer lab but they allowed her in because my older one was there.

My son is 11 and went to Edge first and never had the desire to go to the Oceaneers Club/Lab. It was mostly younger children that I saw in Oceaneers.

Our family was on this cruise with one dd17 and the other dd13 1/2. Our youngest was allowed in the Vibe with no problem at all. We did have to give signed permission and she was no longer allowed in the Edge. After we got her in there though, neither girl went once. :confused3

We signed our DD 12 up for both Edge and the Oceaneers Lab. She went to Edge once and to the Lab with her brother a couple of times. They liked the gaga ball and the flubber in the Lab.
