Anyone else NOT care for 3D movies and tv?

You won't have to wait long. The Samsung 3D plasma 50" 1080p model pn50c680 was selling for $699 at Ultimate Electronics last week. That's not much more or the same price for a non-3D TV.
In reality, there's no premium for a 3D-compatible HDTV, at least not in terms of the difference in price with and without 3D compatibility: Manufacturers are simply not selling 3D that way. If you want a better television, this year, it typically "comes with" 3D. There's no way to buy (for example) the Samsung plasma I bought recently without 3D compatibility... they simply don't sell it that way.

The only 3D stuff I want to see is at WDW. As for movies, I could care less. It seems that my brain shuts off the 3D effect not too far into the movie and now I've paid an extra $4 to see a 2D movie now. Not worth the extra $$$, IMO.

I have epilepsy and when I saw Avatar in 3D I had a seizure so its a 'no go' for me.

You just need to get one of the new 3 d TVA and you will get hooked again
There's a big diffrance

Ummm you realize this thread is 2 years old?

While i am sure the advice is well intended, I sure hope most of these people resolved their tv issues by now!

I do not like the 3D t.v. I don't even care for blue ray. Give me plain ole tv.
I don't even care for the smart t.v.

I can't stand them!! Partially because of how much it drives the ticket prices up at the theater, but I cannot focus on 3D to save my life for more than half of a film and by the time I can I have the worst headache. I'm just wishing it would go away again.

This, every bit of it. The old school 3D worked for me, but the newest version does not. And it gives me a headache.

+1! Tried the 3D tv out in the stores it gave both DH & I instant headaches :0( So Santa got the Smart TV instead. And the movies are the same for us but at least you can still enjoy the movie at the theater w/o the glasses on. Atleast we can. BTW I avoid my kiddos 3DS too. Drives me nuts!

I can't stand 3D movies. It makes me nauseous. It doesn't enhance my movie watching experience at all. Its never made the movie better. Frankly i think its a waste of money.

The ONLY movie I was impressed with in 3D was Avatar.

Me either. It has absolutely no appeal.

My husband decided that the new TV had to have 3D capability and expected us to watch 3D movies at home. I tried it once and the headache it brought on was a doozy.

So now I won't watch 3D movies at home. He's more than welcome to do so if he wants - I just move to my office and watch something on that TV instead.

Oh and the kids don't like wearing the glasses at home either. LOL

I don't mind 3D per se, but I sure don't like paying $11 to see a movie instead of $7.

I won't ever buy a 3D TV. I am not into it.

I saw Avatar in 3D. It was pretty good I guess. I saw Clash of the Titans in 3D. It wasn't very good. And I saw Life of Pi in 3D and it sucked. IMO.

So agree with you! Except for Avatar, but that's probably because I got stuck in the front row :crazy2: I could practically touch those mushrooms!

Now the truth about why it was so popular comes out!

j/k!

;)

:rotfl2: Pretty sure I kept moving around as if they were actually going to hit me.

All I could think of was that scene from 'Knocked Up' where they went to Cirque Du Soleil!!

I was just at Family Video and they had Piranha in 3"DD". That might be something worth watching....:scratchin

I haven't tried 3DTV, but at the movies, I tend not to be able to see the 3D ones as clearly as the regular ones. (It may be just that I usually go to an older theater.) And I agree that the extra cost isn't worth it unless the 3D is really important to the story.
