Well you have to look at what it would cost to rent the same room through Disney. I booked a stay in Hilton head and noticed if someone used David's it might be more expensive than just booking through Disney.

I have to say that I never wanted to use his services until I see the special yesterday for $11/pt because I can rent my points for that much if I need to.
I'm glad he did raise the price tho...

If I'm looking to take my trip in Nov 2013 - is this the best time to start putting in a request? I've read his site top to bottom but I'm looking for people who've used him before. I know there's probably no way to answer these questions but I have to try. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Reservations at DVC Resorts may be made 11 months before the arrival date by those who own at each resort and 7 months before arrival at other resorts. For the best chance of getting a specific type/view villa its always best to start as early as possible since the inventory diminishes the closer you get to arrival.

Reservations for the Nov have been able to be made for up to two months already. Depending on the actual dates and specific villa type inventory may already be gone.

David's service has access to members from all DVC resorts to make these reservations and can usually let you know the same day regarding availability. If there is no availability your deposit would be refunded or maintained for a short while in case something opened up for your reservation.

Hi JT I am actually in the same boat as you right now. I contacted David and sent in two deposits . The problem seems to be that there is still availability for the resorts but there are currently no members that have the points available to rent those points out. So right now we are playing the waiting game hoping that a member will join that has points for the time that you are needing. Unfortunately it seems since we are still so far away there just aren't points out there right now. I am really starting to get discouraged though because this seems to be the way that we need to do our trip this year and I am afraid that the points may never be available or when they are it will be to late and all of the resorts studio rooms will be completely booked . Makes me really sad.

I have used David for 2 trips in 2012. The first time I booked 7 months in advance and was able to get our second choice of WL. The second trip we did 5 months in advance and was still able to get a savannah view at AKL. Going through David's is the only way we go to Disney; until I purchase my own DVC of course! I would suggest putting in your request now to have the best chance of getting what you want. I know their is currently a shortage of some points so you may have to go on the wait list for a bit. We were on the list for 2 weeks for our trip that we are booking 11 months out for, but I just got the e-mail that we got our first choice, BW here we come!

Just remember...the only way your reservation could be made now is if it was someone who owned at Animal Kingdom. I own at Boardwalk and cannot make a December reservation anywhere else until May at 7 months before check in date. Anyone owning anywhere but Animal Kindgom has the same restrictions. You will get your reservation but it probably won't be until May.
And Animal Kingdom and the savings are well worth the wait

The owner does not have direct contact w/ the renter and David's asks them not to do so.

The owner does have their name, address, and names and ages of any children in the room because this info is required to make the reservation.
