Galveston 04/06/13 Caribbean Cruise

Hi everyone, we will also be on the cruise on April 6th. My name is Sam and I will be cruising with my husband Martin and son Luke who is 3.5 years old. We are british expats living in Dubai, UAE.

This is our first ever cruise. Very very excited. Will any of you be getting the Disney ground transfers from IAH on the 6th?

Any tips you could share?

I know that a lot of you do not have cabin numbers yet, or those could possible change. But let me know, I am going to try and make a map for everyone and pass out, so finding rooms will be as easy as possible

I am Ronnie and my husband is Donald and we have two daughters. Kari is 15 and Genna is 8. We do not have our cabin assignment as of yet because we booked with GTY. As soon as we receive that assignment I will update my post. Thanks so much for adding us to FE I am so excited to start making mine and picking up all the little trinkets Between now and our sailing date.

Liz is right, and there's also a character breakfast from what I hear. That was a huge highlight of our December cruise! I was worried that the 6-night cruise wouldn't have it, but apparently it has to do with the number of sea days. Yay!!

One thing on the list of things to bring that you don't want to forget - a power strip! There is a severe shortage of plugs in the staterooms. The bathroom plugs only work for shavers.

I had tried sending you a message with all of my family info to join in the FE but I don't have enough posts to send it to you so I am just going to let you know here. So here it goes:

Broderick (2, he will be 3 the week after we get back) - he loves Mater and Lightning McQueen

We are so excited to do this cruise (first time cruising for all of us) and we are surprising our kiddos...we aren't going to tell them what we are doing until we arrive at the doc...they don't even know that we are going on a trip yet. They will find that out the night before we leave when I ask them to pack their bags. ) I am trying to come up with ideas on what to say when we get on the plane, and then when the shuttle picks us up and takes us to the hotel for the night. Any ideas would be wonderful! )

So glad you guys are going us!! I put you on the list! How exciting surprising the kids! I wrote my kids a book ( with disney pics) last time I surprised them and had them read it as we pulled up to the airport. (I had already packed bags and just picked them up from school).
Another cute way is just to set up your character call and have Mickey tell them! There are so many fun ways to do it! They are going to be so excited no matter how you tell!

All the DFW folks, are you guys driving or flying? And are you heading down on Friday or Saturday morning? I have heard traffic can be back getting into Galveston on Saturdays so I haven't made up my mind yet?? Any tips??

Getting into Galveston on Friday nights and sometimes later on Saturday morning can be a traffic jam. My parents have a condo there and since we are in Houston go quite often. Just give yourself plenty of time to be safe.
