Just watched the premiere of the new Kevin Bacon/James Purefoy series - The Following and all I can say is WOW! It looks like it will be a pretty intense series.

Missed it. Had a meeting tonight and didn't get home until there were about 10 minutes left. DVR has it recorded and I'll watch it later in the week. Glad it sounds good.

Purefoy and Bacon are pretty good, some of the other cast members will need a bit of work but overall the show was pretty dramatic.

Spent fair chunks of time today reading up on two different blogs (both Disney related. Pretty sure I got the link for the first from someone here, second I stumbled on while looking at different posts...

Nice pic and good meet up. We need to plan for a Sox game next year. Are there pre-game tailgate opportunities available?

They have a big street party at Yawkey for a tailgate. That said, I alway enjoy Boston Beer Works before a Sox game.

I'm in though:thumbsup2

Wow thank you for all of the welcomes.
Looks like I am to be known as Cliff Clavin from now on.

If I could hang out with Norm every afternoon and drink beer. I can dig it.

Does this mean i get to be in every Pixar flick? I win. Sorry Norm

:welcome: Cliff. I'm only a few days ahead of you here. Norm and Cliff, gotta love it.

I'm getting sucked into a new series on History Channel called America Unearthed. The main researcher is a forensic geologist who has done extensive work on the Kensington Rune Stone found in Minnesota that traces the Vikings to Western Minnesota in the 14th Century. Fascinating series. He has investigated the Mayans in Georgia, giant skeletons in Minnesota (nothing came of that one), Minoans mining copper on Isle Royal in Lake Superior, and English Runes on a rock in New Mexico. Very interesting stuff and much more scientific than some of the other series they've done lately.

Hi dads. I'm making a big decision. Xfinity has ticked me off. I don't trust the other options. I'm going to ditch cable and go back to antenna tv and get Netflix. Any thoughts?

Good morning guys! Back to the real world today for me. I wanted to take a moment again and thank all of you for all of your texts, posts, emails, IM's and calls over the last few days. They were a great source of strength for us. Whenever things were getting a little rough it seemed like one of you were checking in on us.

The hardest part was yesterday at the funeral. For the first time it really hit my DD's that their Grandfather was gone. Seeing their pain was difficult for me. We decided to forgo any other get togethers besides lunch at dads church. We just came home, watched a couple of movies and cuddled. We will all be ok.

From the bottom of our hearts we are truly grateful and we thank God for each and everyone of you.

I'm going to check this out, hopefully our history channel gets this, I've always been a sucker for archeology type stuff.

Good morning. I haven't been on for a while, so I was re-validating my membership. Seems like i've missed a lot, though (including the convention).

Jodi's co-worker wrote this article for the Washington Post on just that. It's a good read.

a good friend of mine (and likely future DIS Dad once he has kids) has antenna tv and netflix. Aside from a series he gets "into" live, and goes to someone else's house to watch (Lost, Game of Thrones) he loves not paying cable bills. Plus, he's doing WAY better on Halo 4 without pesky "tv watching" getting in the way of Halo time.
(I think i quoted the wrong post. oops)

Morning Guys,

I hope you are staying warm today. It is freezing here again today and suppose to be even colder tomorrow, pushing -30 celcius.

I didn't realize you could still get antenna tv. I thought the switch to digital ended that. Do you need some kind of converter?

While your standing on the roof trying to adjust the antenna, wear aluminum foil on your head so the aliens don't take over your brain.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

We have our cable, Internet and phone(wife insists on having a house phone:confused3 when everyone has a cell) bundled through Xfinity. Would love to find a way to save the money by dropping cable. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure there would be a mutiny in my house if I did it. :scared:

What is this celcius thing you speak of?:lmao::lmao: Supposed to be in the teens Farenheit here today and drop below zero in the evenings. Feel free to keep your cold weather and stop sending down here. Stay warm and safe.

Yes, they make a small converter box. I have two of them that we got when the original change over to digital happened. We got ours for free from the cable company, but I think you can buy them in the stores.

Stay strong David. I am not looking forward to the day we have to deal with something like this. I think it is going to be very difficult for DS, especially with DW's father. They are very close.

Sending you good thoughts for better days.

Tough on you and your girls. Sounds like you did the right thing by skipping the get togethers and just paying attention to them with some quiet family time.

Been thinking about your family in this difficult time.
