Kitchen Sink Question ???

We've never tried to go to Beaches and Cream in the Summer because we don't want to wait in a huge line.

Since we'll be there in a week, I'm guessing it won't be too crowded...

SO - We want to give it a try!
DS11 really wants to order the famous Kitchen Sink.

Eight scoops of ice cream? Right?
Do you pick the flavors? Is it best to just stick with vanilla since they all get mixed up together? Recommendations?

Also, I don't really love eating out of the same bowl as my 11 year old... Do you get smaller bowls to scoop some out into?

EDIT: To add that DS13 ia allergic to tree nuts - cashews and pistachios, specifically - everything else is okay. Are either of those two nuts in any of the toppings? (Peanuts are fine. Thankfully! ;))

:flower3:

I'm sure they will give you bowls and change the flavors if you want too, they are pretty accommodating.

The legendary Kitchen Sink dessert at Beaches and Cream at Disney’s Beach Club Resort is a gargantuan bowl, er, kitchen sink, overflowing with sugary treats. Here’s the list of what’s included:

½ cup fudge topping, warmed
½ cup butterscotch topping, warmed
½ cup peanut butter topping, warmed
1 medium banana, sliced in 1/2 –inch slices
1 cinnamon spice cupcake (2 ½ x 1 ¼-inch), quartered
1 angel food cupcake (3 x 1 ½-inch), quartered
2 4-oz. scoops vanilla ice cream
2 4-oz. scoops chocolate ice cream
2 4-oz. scoops strawberry ice cream
1 4-oz. scoop mint chocolate chip ice cream
1 4-oz. scoop coffee ice cream
3 tablespoons chocolate syrup
¼ cup marshmallow crème
¼ cup strawberry topping
¼ cup pineapple topping
1 14-oz can dairy whipped topping
1 brownie (6-inch x 6-inch), quartered
1 regular-sized (2 ounce) candy bar, quartered
4 chocolate cookies with cream filling
1 tablespoon sliced toasted almonds
1 tablespoon dark and white chocolate shavings
1 tablespoon chocolate cookies with cream filling, crushed
1 tablespoon chopped jellied orange slices (approximately 2 large slices)
1 tablespoon milk chocolate chip morsels
1 tablespoon peanut butter chip morsels
1 tablespoon chocolate sprinkles
1 tablespoon rainbow sprinkles
½ cup drained maraschino cherries

Yes they give you smaller bowls to scoop it out into & if you wish to change something, ask them in advance.

THANKS!!! :cloud9: It sounds SO GOOD!!!! I think we'll keep it as it comes. I was thinking we'd have to pick ice cream flavors. :goodvibes

I can't wait to show this to my kid!!! If we didn't have church in the morning I'd wake him up now. :lmao:

YUMMY!!!!!

The Kitchen Sink is very tasty, and a lot of fun.

On our last trip we ordered it for my DS's 13th birthday. We split it among 5 of us.

When it was brought to the table the gave us a scoop and 5 small bowls so we could dish it up for everyone without eating right out of the bowl.

It was a lot of ice cream so we ended up not eating all of it but it was worth the money, just to see my nephews face when he saw it.

This trip it's only my niece and I so no Kitchen Sink for us.

I remember someone saying they had asked for the coffee ice cream to be left out because it tasted weird when it started to melt together with some of the other flavors, and of course if there's an allergy you can ask for something to be left off.

I was thinking the mint might be strange. Since I'm the only one who likes it, I may ask them to switch that for vanilla. Maybe the coffee, too - but DH will probably want to fish that scoop out and eat it before it has a chance to melt!!! LOL

Yikes! If 5 of you couldn't finish it I'm going to be ashamed to admit it when four of us do!!! ;)

The kitchen sink is $26.99.

I could never order it after watching different ones eating it when we have been there. After it starts to melt, it gets really gross looking, and I can't imagine the taste and all the sweetness mixed together

Just give me their chocolate brownie sundae - yummy :)

My family eats it so fast it barely gets a chance to melt! We always customize. 2 of us love mint ice cream but it ruins the sundae so we learned not to get it. Also, we don't care for coffee ice cream. You can make any changes you want.

We are a family of 5, 2 early 20's boys and a teen girl. We love getting the kitchen sink and none goes to waste.

I am SO looking forward to this!!! My boys are going to love it!!!! I think we'll leave out the mint & coffee, too. I agree, it sounds like it would ruin it as it melts. :flower:

I just can't decide if we want to eat there first. I'm thinking if we do we might be too full for the ice cream!!!!

This was the one thing DD14 wanted to do on our trip last week. Finally, on our last night we made it to B&C - around 9:00pm. Had to wait 30 minutes for a table. We debated whether or not to actually order it, since it was only me, dd14, dd11 and dd5 - we knew we would not be able to finish it and DDs did not like a lot of the toppings. But our waiter was so nice and we were able to personalize it just the way we wanted - he even brought toppings out on the sie that DD11 wanted but nobody else did. It was a lot of fun and DD5 was just astonished at how "humungous" it was! And, to my amazement - we put quite a dent in the sink - not quite finished, but we ate quite a bit of it! I would definitely do it again!

"A WHOLE CAN???" ;)
Didnt know i could swap out a flavor if ice cream. Hate mint. Good to know!

I can't even finish a hoodsie. Lol! DS is not a big sweets eater. But DDIL might just bring us to the finish line! She loves her desserts. We have never tried this but we are at BWV late Feb for 10 days and I might suggest this!! Good to know we can customize it!

Were a family of 6...Love the Kitchen Sink...We usually go around 3ish, never had a crowd problem! And NONE of us are usually in the mood for dinner that night LOL!
