**Ashley & Brian's 10/26/13 Swan Wedding**

I LOVE the shoes! They really do look princessy and the heart when you stand with your feet together is so cool! And that note with them really was cute :cutie: good job scoring those for $29! I love it when that happens, I managed to get mine for $27 and mine are 4" heels... we might both die by the end of the day! Did they come with the something blue or you did you add that?

I love your Save the Dates too! My favorite is the AoA pictures, but that's only because of the bright colors. I just love fun, happy, bright colors :goodvibes both your Save the Dates are awesome! Good job you got half and half :thumbsup2

That's great you've found a way to use your deposit and not lose it. I think it will work out better to have your celebration before your wedding, that way the people who're going won't be talking about it and making those who couldn't go feel left out. I don't think it's socially unacceptable or tacky, I think it's a way to be inclusive and have everyone celebrate. So if you've registered, should I start mine? :confused3

The email newsletter with specials is a great idea, I think people will appreciate it and from the response I got from my email newsletters, I think people preferred it in that format

Haha yes we will both need to hold each other up by the end of the night. I'll bring an extra pair of flips flops for you !! The something blue actually came on the shoe which I thought was kind of cool.
I love that AoA was with lion king. I love that movie and I love animal print and the vibe of AKL. For some reason the lion king area reminded me a little of AKL. We might even consider staying here for the extra room to get ready in the suite vs a standard AKL room. But that's a whole other post ! LOL
I was proud of my resourcefulness with the deposit and at home reception. I'm glad you see it as me including everyone and not being tacky. Also good point about having it before hand, that way guests that went to Disney aren't talking about it in front of the other guests. Everyone can be on the same page.
Yes you shoukd start registering. Are you going to register thru disney honeymoons ? It's pretty cool. You can check ours out on our wedding webpage if you want to get an idea.

That's where we registered as well, since we don't really need anything for home. We thought it would be better for people to help us out with our honeymoon.

Yay !! Shana
Thanks for following along. I want to see your guest book too. Can you share the link ?

I loved Randy. A ton of fun to work with !
We are very pleased with the pics

It is a really cool registry. We were originally looking into a DCL honeymoon too so we were registered for both. I chickened out of the cruise. I get sea sick easily- well motion sickness in general and didn't want to be sick on the honeymoon. So we updated the registry just for WDW. We are trying to swing a 4 day trip to the Caribbean.

We are in the same boat. We already live together and have what we need for the house. It's a great registry !

Thanks Shana !

Love your shutterfly book.

We actually order so much stuff from shutterfly. Have you tried the layflat books yet ? We are ordering our wedding albums from here too. I like designing them myself and with coupons and promotions its cheaper than ordering them through a photographer.

Its me again :)
u have so many updates all at once feel like everythings coming together for u. my PJ is sitting un updated as i have nothing 2 update it with hopefully will in the next few months tho when things start getting booked! :D

i absolutely love the ariel flower girl dress! its everythin a flower girl dress should b an i bet anyone who wears it feels like a little princess princess:

cant wait to see wht u do with ur hair. i'm wearing a strapless dress and planning on either having my hair all down an curly (which should come down to jus below my shoulders) or half up/half down but still curly. currently i have a friend making a tiara for me so i'm thinking mayb a little bit up on top of my head so the tiara stands out then loose curls but i'v not given this much more thought yet. I was dead set against a veil to start off with but after having many thrown on me in different ways while trying on dresses i'v kinda been considering one. :bride:
(ps my hair is also very thick an goes frizzy in florida temps so will be interesting 2 see how they deal with it)

princess: perfect shoes for a princess like u princess: i love how they make the heart as well when put together like u said

i cant decide between the save the dates i love the both thats a great design an the colouring goes perfectly with all the photos

thats good u could use the deposit for the at home celebration/shower it would'v been such a shame for all that money to go to waste! an i agree u should invite people who r not being invited to the wedding, that way they still feel included an can still celebrate with u both :)

Originally, when we were planning a Disney wedding. We had about 25-30 people. Which was one of the main deciding factors of DFTW or a Swan Wedding- since I did not want to pay a WISHES minimum. Well, apparently as more people are finding out that we are getting married in Disney- more and more people want to come.

Which is fine- but a little frustrating. I feel like some people are just blowing steam when they say they are coming, but really will end up not showing. Its nice to know we have so many family members and friends who would like to come, but I wish people could give us an honest, realistic answer. This post may be a little out of order since I posted my Pre-RSVP idea in the last post, so ooopss..

On that note, we did send out save the dates to 70 guests. Im curious to see how many of those 70 pre-rsvp back to coming to Disney. ;)

Which brings us to our reception. . .

I had initially narrowed it down to Il Mulino and Fultons. I liked Fulton’s more since we could bring in a Dj and Photobooth. I also liked that they offered a bar package. On our trip to WDW this past fall we met with Ashley from Fultons and did a site tour- and we were pleased with the lounge and the view. The menu options were “okay” and I wasn’t impressed with their appetizers. I asked if we can order appetizers from the regular menu- that were not listed on the group menu and I was told no. That said- I decided to try and look else where to keep our options open . .

I looked into Il Mulino- and LOVED their menu, LOVED Erica who was the coordinator I was in contact with, and LOVED that the location was right at the Swan. I LOVED the atmosphere of the venue as well. I did not love that we could not have a photo booth or DJ brought in. I also did not like that if we wanted to use the outdoor patio, that there was a separate food and beverage minimum. And I didn’t like that they did not offer a bar package- just paying per drink or per bottle.

I decided to sign with Il Mulino- since it was the best customer service wise and menu wise. Ashley at Fultons still hadn’t been back in touch with me for 2013 menu pricing. After I had followed up numerous times – she was pretty snarky and unresponsive. At points she made it out like I was bothering her- and was down right rude. That said-I was very unhappy with Fultons and decided that although they allowed more flexibility, I would not give them a cent of my money. :furious:

I was pretty happy booking with Il Mulino- and glad that they had no cancellation fee, in case I changed my mind-again. I am still pretty bummed though about not having a DJ or photobooth and a more “traditional” reception.

After talking it over with Brian, we decided to keep looking for some alternative venues. I came across the Rix Lounge at Coronado Springs and fell in love with it. I originally contacted them back during the initial planning stages but then forgot all about them once I started talking to Erin at Just Marry.

I have been speaking with them and so far they have been really helpful. Im also VERY pleased with their menu options and pricing. The room itself is so beautiful and doesn’t need any décor. It works out great too, because when we had booked our wedding up here I wanted to use the black Moroccan lanterns in our reception. I get that same vibe from the Rix without needing any décor !

I also LOVE that we can have a more traditional reception here. A Dj & Photobooth. We will have our cake cutting, garter/bouquet toss, and first dances all at the Rix. I can bring in an outside cake which is wonderful since I have already been in contact with Its Tasty Too ! Its 6 minutes (thanks google maps) from the Swan- which works out great location wise. And best of all- once the wedding reception is over, we can still stay and enjoy some more dancing and drinks at the Rix. A lot of our guests will probably be staying at a moderate resort. So this offers an opportunity for them to stay where the reception will be taking place. :thumbsup2

I am patiently waiting for them to send me over the banquet order and contract. So far we have decided that we will have our cocktail hour in the swing lounge . . .

And then move to Las Ventanas for dinner and our reception . ..

I LOVE the Swing lounge and think it is very unique. They also have TVs set up in here so we can play a video of our baby photos, engagement photos, etc. during cocktail hour. Which is another benefit of the Rix. :cool1:

Hey Debra !!
Well all of my updates are getting closer to my current planning so my updates may be further apart now.

Thanks for all of the kind words

Still haven't made any decisive plans with flower girl dresses or my hair but I will post as soon as I do

Finally had a chance to add another update today. Thanks for following along

I'm sorry that Il Mulino was almost what you wanted, but not exactly what you wanted. I think it's a great venue for receptions. I'm sorry that Fulton's were so unhelpful and rude, I'm surprised! I'm so excited for you to have your cocktail hour and reception at the Rix! :hyper: They were one of the first places I looked at but then I dismissed them thinking they'd be crazy expensive. I'm glad I went back and investigated it properly because it turns out they have a great menu and pricing! I agree that it doesn't need any extra decor (we won't be adding any) and I know what you mean about the Moroccan vibe, I think it looks a little more Moroccan than Mexican. That will be really convenient if your guests stay at CSR :goodvibes

i think u'v found a gem of a location for ur cocktail hour and reception it looks great and sounds perfect for everything u guys want! :)
