Rented two scooters from move it mobility to be waiting for us when we checked into Fort Wilderness at 8:30 am on sept 23. We were going to go to the MK for the day while our cabin was getting ready. We were on time but our scooters weren't there. We called move it mobility and the guy told us he was at the sheriffs office reporting that some of his scooters were stolen (he blamed apple for stealing them), we told him we had $360 worth of mk tickets and could only go this day because of our schedule, he said he would call us back. He didn't call us back, we ended up calling him back several times before he stopped taking our calls. The last time we spoke to him he told us he didn't understand why we were yelling at him. I told him its because we had been sitting in the car in a parking lot from 8:30am till now (it was 2:30pm) wasting the theme park tickets waiting for the scooters we had already paid for:furious:. The cms knew our situation and rushed mousekeeping to get us into our cabins, we were in the cabin a little before 3. We left move it mobility a voice mail telling them we gave up on them and to please refund our credit card and they never did, they tried to steal the money. We decided to try to salvage the evening and my wife and I took our dd and my mother in law using my father in laws wheelchair to the mk we didn't get there till after 5, my father in law stayed back which really sucked he had never been there before and we know the next time we go back he will not be with us anymore, but we only had one chair and knew neither could make it to the rentals in the park, so move it mobility stole my daughters chance to go to the mk with her grandfather:sad:. I consider the whole day and all money for tickets a loss because we were only at the mk from a little after 5 till 9 and move it mobility didn't care. Called my credit card company when we got home and today they took the money back from move it mobility and credited my account so even though they wasted our disney tickets and stole priceless memories at least I got my money back from them. NEVER USE MOVE IT MOBILITY THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS

They are not, and have never been, on the list of recommended providers in Post #2 of the disABILITIES FAQs. I would suggest that next time you look at the FAQs and pay for one that might cost a bit more but is known to be reliable.

Sorry about your experience.

That is why we recommend people use companies that other posters have left good feedback over the years - they are listed in post 2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread ( near the top of this board or follow the link in my signature).

So, there may not a next ime for you, but your post may keep omeone else of the same problem you had.

Were you able to get ecv's from another location?

I am not sure I understand why your fil did not go to MK. The boat from FW drops off right in front of the turnstiles and the ecv rental is about 100 feet from the turnstiles.

It is too bad that this happened, but sadly this is often the outcome when using companies that are not recommended. I know Sue has a list of companies that "follow the rules" and verify who they are renting to, provide good service and all well known. Hopefully on your next trip things will turn out better for you. :)

We will be back but my father in law won't as his health is quickly deteriorating. We did read the forums and all the suggestions before we started looking for rentals, we talked to these people on the phone many times before making our decision and felt comfortable with it, the conman who works there is good. My whole point of this post is to warn others of this company so this doesn't happen to them

Part of my father in laws foot is amputated do to diabetes so anything furthur then a few feet is to much for him and if he falls it takes at least 4 men to pick him up but he usually goes right back down from exhaustion, we thought of borrowing a second wheelchair from the campground but my wife and I would be pushing 2 wheelchairs and a stroller we just couldn't do it. We laughed through the tears when we pictured in our heads what it would look like with us pushing her parents around in the wheelchairs while they pushed the stroller out in front of them. We called apple from the MK and told them what they were being accused of, 45 minutes later my father in law called us from the cabin and told us apple had dropped off 2 scooters right to the cabin the rest of the week was saved.

???? What they were being accused of? I don't think I understand. I am still unclear about your FIL, but I suppose that does not matter. It sounds like Apple was able to come thru for you.:thumbsup2

Move it mobility told us they were at the sheriffs office filing a report that apple scooters had stolen the scooters from his company and thats why they didn't have any for us, we knew it was bull**** and wanted to let apple know what this other company was saying, as a thank you apple really hooked us up and gave us their scooters extremely discounted they also got in trouble for bringing them right to the cabin

Made a reservation back in July for our December Disney Vacation. They charged my credit card for the full amount on 7/2/12. They never delivered our order, have not provided a refund and they do not return phone calls. I will be contacting the local news agencies in the Orlando area as well as the Orlando police department.

I hope this link works. I know it is to late for the for the two people above, but for future renter, please check out the recommendations on this board and I would encourage you to take an extra few minutes to check out the BBB. Companies are not required to registrar, but you can often get an idea of there customer service by checking it out. Move it is not registered nor do they seem to care for customer service. If you check out the link above it shows that they have had 19 complaints and did not respond to any of them. Again, they are not required to, but I believe that a company that wishes to keep customers happy would at least respond to a complaint. I have never used any service, but if you check out Walker on the BBB they have an A+ and show no complaints over the past 3 years.

You may need to contact Orange County sheriff department because their the police in Disney. They will most likely tell you it civil matter meaning you would have to go to small claims court to get you money back. Did you contact your credit card company and tell them what happened they may refund it and then they will deal with the company to get their money back.

After reading the post on the BBB's web site, may of them where able to get the money back from the credit card company after filling a dispute, but after the money was refunded Move It charged them again ( this was more than one person reporting this) so be sure to fill a complaint with your credit card co and then ask them for a new account number so that they will no longer have access to your account.

That a good idea I never thought of that figured the credit card company would be on top of that I would also if that happen call and speak to a manger at the credit card company because if enough people complain my be they will suspend the company ability to take credit cards.

That is a great idea as well. The BBB had it listed on the site that this company is using the BBB logo on it's website and the BBB has asked them to stop but they have not and they are refusing mail from them.

I am so so very sorry that your trip started out so badly. I am also sad that your trip can't be repeated with everyone. It just isn't fair that mean people can make such a mess of plans. We had a similar disappointment when my sister was terminally ill. It still makes me cry when I think about how I wanted her last trip to be perfect and what happened instead. Nothing can be done but just know that a lot people care and are sending prayers your way.

You just need to file a chargeback with your cc company to resolve this.

Sorry to hear they got you too. I have been disputing the charges with the credit card company and they initially removed them but recently I got a letter saying that unless I wrote them another letter they were going to put the charges back on because move it responded to them saying the scooters were delivered and I never contacted them with any problems. I rewrote my letter explaining that move it was simply lying and that they should be denied charging privileges, so far the charges have not reappeared.

You should include the BBB info in any contact with the credit card company

Yes!!! Be sure to print out the part about them using the BBB logo without permission and the BBB getting the mail returned. If that does not prove they are shady then I don;t know what will. I would also encourage you to send a letter to the FL state attorney and to whom ever issues business licenses ( if this company even has one).
