pixiedust:

Congratulations on getting the resorts you wanted. Extending days and getting the 1br!

On Friday, June 14, 2013 we are leaving our Indiana Home for Our Disney Home in Orlando, Florida.

We will be leaving early in the morning and driving straight to Orlando. We will be staying at an off-site hotel in DTD. DH job requires travel, he builds up hotel points through Hilton. These points allow us to stay at Hilton Hotels for free. We use these points for vacation travel or for a weekend get away. We have also used them for our anniversary stays. It is a nice perk!

DS recently turned 16. He did not take a Driver's Education Class, we have downloaded all the books from the Indiana BMV for him to study. He has not studied one book and appears uninterested in driving. We do not get it.

With some encouragement, we are hoping he will get his permit or license before heading to Disney, so that he can practice driving on the interstate. :car:

We will arrive at Disney this day! So excited! The next morning we have to move to another DTD Hotel Resort!

My son didn't have any interest in getting his license either. At least it saves on insurance money until then!

Love your countdown chain and the book. You are very creative!

I cringed when I saw you cancelled an ADR for BOG. We loved eating there! Ate there for lunch and dinner during a passholder preview. That restaurant is just beyond words. The whole New Fantasyland is just amazing.

One... Love that you're a box mom...I don't have any experience with Marching Band but a plethora of other activities and I know how much work goes into keeping these activities going for our kids...:goodvibes

Two...I may steal your packing list and personalize it for my family...:lmao: So thanks for posting that...

Three...I love your countdown chain and planning binder...:thumbsup2 Good Stuff...

Thank You, so excited about this one. I have been doing too much daydreaming about how beautiful both are but it is good daydreaming.

I guess I can look at it as saving insurance money, that is a positive.

I am a bit disappointed but we are returning to Disney year after year so we will eat there eventually.

.

Welcome & Thanks for Joining me! :wave2:

Thanks, I really enjoy being a box mom, it is not always easy because it is a lot of time but it is very rewarding helping the band members and being there for them.

Two...I may steal your packing list and personalize it for my family...:lmao: So thanks for posting that...

I am sure I forgot something for the packing list and I will add to it, in fact just added Shaving Cream and Shavers. Please steal it, I can't help but make lists. :thumbsup2

Three...I love your countdown chain and planning binder...:thumbsup2 Good Stuff...

Thank you! It was fun making it and picking out the paper and items needed to make it. I am thinking about decorating another binder just for the fun of it.

Love the countdown chain and planning binder.

It must be something with the kids these days. My son had no desire to drive either when he got his license. Preferred to just ride his bike or walk over to friends in town. Not complaining...

We are an Indiana family heading down this June too. We are going down for my son's graduation from HS trip. First time in June, first time at any mod resort, CBR (for first part of trip, ?? for second part so far), and for 2 weeks. Wanted to make this a long trip because we figure it will be the last for quite some time as my son starts at Purdue in the fall.

I have to agree, I asked him if he doesn't want to drive because we drive him every where and pick him up. He sort of, smiled and said, Yes! I just think he said yes and found it funny that I asked him that question. He knows sarcasm and likes to use it on a daily basis. I would been nice if he could drive himself to and from marching band practice.

Love my 2 week vacations, We have stayed at CBR and we liked it. It was a very beautiful. We have until 2015 for the college start. Purdue is an excellent school, I would like DS to attend here but this is not completely up to me. Indiana University has been brought up a few times, along with Indiana State.

Thanks for Posting to my PTR!

PTR Plans for Sunday, June 16, 2013 Father’s Day

Ahhh! Father's Day!

The day Shawn gets what he wants and I have to stop trying to convince him what he wants to eat and where to go at Disney because I just can't help myself!

The day we show my loving husband and Aaron & Allison amazing father, just how much we appreciate him for his love, kindness, and self-less giving to us all year long. We do show him love all year and appreciation but today is extra special because it is his day! Father’s Day!

Our plan is to sleep until 7:30am at The Hilton Garden Inn, get everyone showered and dressed and then head over to one of our favorite resorts! Beach Club Resort!

My husband loves breakfast! It is by far his favorite meal of the day. I felt it was fitting to schedule a breakfast at Cape May Café.

The plan is to arrive early enough to check in before our scheduled reservation time at Cape May Café for Father’s Day breakfast.

I really doubt if our villa will be ready. A swimming bag will be packed separate from our other luggage.

The plan is to swim the day away at Storm Along Bay. When our villa is ready, we will check it for bed bugs and if it is clean, we will move our things in.

Lunch is at Beaches & Cream - Shawn loves Beaches & Cream, I just like the No Way Jose, YUM! I am thinking about trying the grilled cheese and tomato soup.

Shawn can't decide where he would like to eat dinner for Father's Day or what he would like to do with our evening.

He has tossed around Fantasmic at DHS, going to Epcot for Illuminations, Heading back to the Magic Kingdom (MK has evening EMH).
Some of his dinner ideas have been: ESPN or eating around World Showcase.

Edit: We are eating dinner at Cape May Café!

I guess I will have to see where he takes us but the uber planner in me is dying a slow death of (I don't know what I want to do!) :faint:

I can’t wait for this relaxing fun day! It will be a blast!

PTR Plans for Monday, June 17, 2013

This will be our first full Epcot Day!

Our plan is to have breakfast in the room.

We were at our local Meijer grocery store this past week and DD found her favorite cereal in cups!
DS also likes this cereal.
I also found a variety pack of cereal cups at our local GFS store.

I would like to make rope drop at the International Gateway.

We can head to the land and ride Soarin & get a fast pass for Soarin. This all depends on fastpass + and the new magic bands. As a family, we love Soarin! The music to this attraction is stunning and it just makes my heart burst with awe at the beauty of what the Disney Imaginers have created.

We will follow Soarin with Living with The Land. A few years ago, we did the Behind the Seeds Tour at Living with The Land. It was extremely fascinating and so educational for our family. The tour really helped our family to appreciate this attraction even more than in the past. I love to find the hidden mickeys in the lettuce and to see the mickey pumpkins. It always amazes me that the fruits, vegetables, tilapia, and shrimp that are grown in the land are used to supply the restaurants in Epcot.

Our next attraction will be The Seas with Nemo and Friends. I love this clam mobile ride. The technology used in this ride is intriguing. They made the Nemo characters appear to be swimming in the aquarium. I am looking forward to experiencing this dark ride again. After Nemo, I am sure we will check out the different aquariums and Turtle Talk with Crush. We have not seen Turtle Talk with Crush since 2008.

Figment will be our next ride! I can’t wait to experience this again! We love Figment and we often sing the Figment Song. Time for skunk smell, a disappearing butterfly, upside down bath tubs, adorable little figment foot prints and quick blasts of air!

Space Ship Earth will be on the agenda this day! I know this may sound completely illogical but I love the smell of the burning fires on this ride. It is so much fun at the end of the ride when you are descending to the bottom and you begin to answer the questions about how you would like to live in the future. This is so stinking cute; we have so many hilarious photos of ourselves.

Test Track will also work its way into our plans for this day. Shawn and the kids love this ride. I for one do not care for Test Track. I always check out other attractions, window shop, or get a snack while they ride Test Track.

If we have enough before leaving the park, I would like to stop by the Epcot Character Spot to get photos with Mickey and the Gang.

Our plan for Lunch is to eat around World Showcase and then head back to the Beach Club for an afternoon swim at Storm along Bay.

After an afternoon of swimming, we will head back to Epcot for an evening of fun in World Showcase.

The plan is to do the Phineas & Ferb adventure.

We have a dinner reservation for Biergarten!

This plan is just our style and I am sure we will have so much fun.
We are looking forward to it.

Family Disney Movie Nights!

So we use to have family movie nights every Friday! I was reading a TR yesterday and they were having themed Disney Family Movie nights.

We use to do these in the past. I don't know what happened over the last year that we stopped doing these Disney and family movie nights.

So we have decided to renew our tradition.

DH, DD, and I got together and made a plan. DS did not participate, he was playing xbox as usual.

We have picked out 8 Disney Movies.

The first one will take place at our 130 day mark! in 7 days!

I am so excited!

:goodvibes

I bought Sunscreen today!

Thank you to the Flexable Medical Spending Account!

Disney2013petsandsunscreen001_zps8a45f437.jpg

I think I may have went a little crazy but we are going to be there for 2 weeks and it is better to be safe than sorry. I do not want to pay Disney high prices for sunscreen.

Hey there!! I made it! :woohoo:

I am LOVING your packing list and your super cute binder! Can't wait to hear more about your trip plans. :surfweb:

Hey there! Ok, so funny story, I started reading your PTR a couple of weeks ago, and when I scrolled down to your first pic, I about spit out my soda - your DH looks just like my DH's boss! I showed it to my DH without saying anything, and he says, oh my gosh, that looks just like Kevin! So he has a doppelganger living in Lincoln, NE! What is funny is his boss and his family own DVC, and are always giving us Disney advice (and trying to convince us to own DVC) I wish I had a pic of him, I might need to find one, and post it on the FB page! Now to go back and catch up, and subscribe!

Thanks Jennifer! I am glad you made it! :woohoo:

Hello! I made it over from facebook as well. :) Love your binder and countdown chain. Very creative!

Thank You KittyKat! I am glad you made it! :yay:

Haha! They say everyone has a twin somewhere, I don't know if this is true or not. :confused3 Funny thing: When we were considering buying into DVC, it was my husbands boss at the time that convinced us to do it! The ex-boss and his family will be at Disney when we are staying at the BCV and they are staying at the BCV. It is all good and the ex-boss got referral money! We bought into AKL at a discounted point rate back in 2010 we could have bought BLT but the points were much more expensive. We have never had a problem booking any room at Disney. So don't go by buy where you want to stay.

update: my husband thinks I should correct myself about not buying where you want to stay because it is cheaper. He says, I will get flamed :furious: and I should add the disclaimer. If you go at really busy times of the year like Spring Break or the week of Christmas or New Years you should buy where you want to stay. I don't know why he is so worried about me getting flamed :furious:, it is not like it hasn't happened before.

I was just catching up and saw your sunscreen photo...:rotfl2:

Are you sure that's enough...;)

(I'm just kidding I'm a big sunscreen advocate... I could be one of the Snow People at Blizzard Beach... almost...;) So I do appreciate your commitment to sun safety...::yes::

My Mom and Sister are red heads with very fair skin and I inherited that skin. Sadly, my son also got it. My DH & DD have a tint to their skin but still require sunscreen or they burn. I will burn and look like a lobster and then I am so uncomfortable. Yikes! It is not fun to be uncomfortable on vacation.

It is very funny, I always over plan and over buy! :rolleyes2

:lmao:

I found you, but I think I need a spreadsheet to make sure I can keep up with all of us Junies!

You are so organized and creative. Allison's favorite cereal is our younger son's favorite, too! I think we'll do Z bars for breakfast since I worry that eating cereal will take too long. They can grab and go with the bars.

.

I have to agree about the spreadsheet! Haha!

I created a folder in subscriptions here on the DIS that is labeled June 2013 PTR/TR - I just go into that and then check on each PTR or TR. I tried a notebook and I get tired of writing. Lol!

I think sometimes I have OCD organization issues, if I don't make lists I go a little nuts.

Crave cereal we buy a box and it is gone in 2 to 3 days! That girl just loves it!

I take forever to get ready in the morning on vacation. Like an hour, I like to take my time. So it is plently of time for everyone to eat cereal. :rolleyes1

:goodvibes

I wanted to introduce everyone to our family pets! We call them our furbabies or our Dog Son, Dog Daughter, Cat Son, and Cat Daughter!

We Love Lilo & Stitch! We love them so much our cats are named Lilo & Stitch.

PTR Plans for Tuesday, June 18, 2013

This will be our Animal Kingdom Day!

Breakfast in the Room

The Plan is to ride Expedition Everest, I am not sure if I can get Aaron to ride this. He is scared of roller coasters. I usually stay with him while Shawn and Allison ride.

Kilimanjaro Safari, I adore this safari adventure. I heard that they changed
the story line to this ride. I can’t wait to visit all the animals, it reminds me of my adorable savana view room at Animal Kingdom Villas Kidani.

We plan to check out Pangani Forest Trail (Shawn loves the Gorillas) and the Maharajah Jungle Trek (would love to see the Tigers and Fruit Bats) along with Rafiki’s Planet Watch. I know it is going to be boiling hot so we will have to split these up on different days or by pass them all together.

Dinosaur is on the list. We rode this in 2008 and it scared Allison. I figure she is old enough to handle it now.

We plan to visit Camp Minnie Mickey and check out the characters (I adore the characters in the safari gear) and Festival of the Lion King! We were able to view Festival of the Lion King in December 2011. FOTLK is spectacular! We feel we should have been going to Animal Kingdom to view this every trip! We are returning!

We have not seen Finding Nemo, The Musical. So the plan is to catch this during our stay.

Hopefully, we can manage most of this during our time at Animal Kingdom. I really think this is schedule is ambitious and we will not be able to complete it.

Lunch: AK CS

We would also like to view Jammin Jungle Parade again!

When we feel like we are steaming hot and finished with Animal Kingdom we are going to leave and dive in Storm along Bay to cool off.

Dinner is Cape May Café! We just can't get enough of this place!

Shawn wants to ride Kali River Rapids! I want to not ride Kali River Rapids! We will see how this turns out!

:goodvibes
