Tales of the Amazing Expandable Stomach: Complete!

Interesting that it was Le Cellier's creme brulee you tagged as the "world's" best...I might have to agree with you, but I probably better taste it again just to be sure!:thumbsup2 Just a observation...those look to be pretty small portions at Le Cellier, especially a little stingy with the fries!! I'll make note not to plan on sharing any meals there!!

Thank you for the nice reports! Really enjoyed reading them.
I am happy you liked Flying Fish, is not that place just heaven?
We have to go more than once on every trip, the food really is to die for.....
And the potato wrapped snapper has no match, the flounder is my favorite, try it some day if it is still on the menu :-)
And on top of that they probably have the beast steak on Disney property....

Great reviews! I'm very anxious to see how the menu at Le Cellier changes in January. We don't have an ADR there yet but that may change with the new menu.

Oh! And I can't wait to try a dole whip float! I usually just get the pineapple vanilla swirl but I think this time I'm going to try a float :thumbsup2
Yesss!!! Try it- I don't think you'll regret it.:thumbsup2 I see they took the burger off the Le Cellier menu...I kinda figured they would, but will miss it.

I love that apple dessert too. First had it at the Turf Club at SSR. Have since found it in the frozen dessert section at Walmart and they are pretty similar...bake them up and add ice cream. Delicious!
Ohhh! Thanks for the tip. I am going to check that out for sure. I love those things!!!!

Yum! I loved reading your review. It makes me want to book my trip right now! I need to make Yak and Yeti a must on my next trip.
Thank you! It is a great place to eat. I hope you like it as much as we do :thumbsup2

You are right, I think you should try it again;) I might have to too. I think my pics are a little misleading here...the portions were a pretty good size. And don't forget the pretzel bread. I always eat way more than I should, and am full before the entree even arrives:laughing:

Thank you for reading! I can't believe I hadn't tried flying fish before. It was the best. I don't know how I'll be able to try anthing else after that snapper. I guess we'll have to eat there twice next time:laughing:

OMG everything looks amazing. Looking at all these pics is making me hungry..lol
Thank you!! Me too;)

Wolfgang Puck Express at DTD is a great CS if you are on the dining plan.

I’d wanted to try the spaghetti and meatballs for quite a while so I seized the opportunity

IMAG0928.jpg

Holy meatballs…these things were HUGE! And absolutely delish. Well seasoned and very filling. I didn’t eat much of the spaghetti. I must admit it was a tad watery, but it didn’t ruin the dish.

Dsis had the chicken fingers and fries.

IMAG0927.jpg

She really liked them. All white meat chicken in a crunchy breading with fries. How can you go wrong?

A sugar cookie and a brownie were on the menu for dessert.

IMAG0926.jpg

The cookie was surprisingly delicious…soft and tasted freshly baked.

Earlier we had stopped at Ghirardelli’s for some mocha iced coffee.

IMAG0891.jpg

It was really yummy and I’d get this again for sure. :thumbsup2

We had one more day of Food and Wine at EPCOT

The morning started out with the most nutritious of breakfasts:

Strawberry Shortcake

IMAG0931.jpg

You know for all the hype I’ve seen for this, it was a little underwhelming…the cake was a little dry, but the strawberries were fresh and plentiful.

Banana Cake (guess who picked this)

IMAG0930.jpg

It was very good! Nice banana flavor and very moist.

I was determined to try the drinking chocolate at the chocolate bar

IMAG0913.jpg

It wasn’t quite what I expected. It was like drinking melted semi-sweet bakers chips One sip was good…more than that…

This was a chocolate sculpture they had on display

IMAG0912.jpg

Pretty cool!

Sausage was next from Germany

IMAG0935.jpg

Very tasty. Love the pretzel roll and the mustard to dip

Dsis had a pretzel from Germany

IMAG0937.jpg

She loved the flavor of this pretzel…it is different than your standard Disney pretzel

I love funnel cake and just had to try the pumpkin flavored

100_0553.jpg

Well…the first bite was pretty good, but after that…oh dear. Disis said it best...“I think were eating a candle”

Have you ever wanted to try those delicious looking cookies that they sell around the WS in the coffee stands?

IMAG0940.jpg

IMAG0939.jpg

The chocolate chip was soft and delicious, but the sugar was the most icky cookie I have ever eaten; truly. Hard as a rock and tasted like sand.

So the favorites from food and wine was the Pork Slider from Hawaii (my pick) and the Chicken Sausage from Canada (Dsis)

Love the Food and Wine Fest!!:lovestruc

Next: 50's PTC

We didn’t have a reservation planned for our last day. We went back and forth on a couple different options and decided on trying 50’s Prime Time Café. I had made ressies for this place before but always ended up canceling them, and I’m so glad we tried it!

Now you don’t think this is going to happen, but honestly at this point I was so sick of eating. Fortunately, this restaurant was just what was needed. The theming was really fun, and the food was great. It was yummy home cooked food- just like advertised.

I chose the sample platter.

IMAG0942.jpg

I don’t usually eat chicken on the bone (I have a lifelong aversion to slimy stringy things in meat) but this was pretty good. The white meat was juicy and tasty with a crunchy breading. The meatloaf was just OK, not something I’d get again. The pot roast though…wow.:worship: For a non meat lover, I loved this! It was not fatty it was tender and flavorful…just yum! And the mashed potatoes and veggies were very good too. Next time I will get the pot roast dish, cuz it was awesome!:thumbsup2

I also had to try the PBJ milk shake that is so often mentioned. It does taste like vanilla peanut butter ice cream. Very good, but very rich. I think I prefer strawberry or plain chocolate. It comes in a metal mixing cup with 2 large servings.

Dsis had the Fried Chicken dinner

IMAG0943.jpg

She loved this as much as her Le Cellier steak (up to now her favorite Disney meal). She said it was one of the best meals of fried chicken that she’s ever had.

I had no room for dessert, but chose the apple crisp without the ice cream.

IMAG0944.jpg

Your run of the mill crisp.

Dsis had the smores.

IMAG0945.jpg

She said they were very good, but she was too full to do them any justice.

I’d always gone back on forth on 50’s PTC because who wants homey food while on vacation, right? Well we do, and will go back for sure!

:cool1: That's all folks! Thanks for reading along with me - I wish you many yummy delights on your vacation!!! :cool1:

:dance3:

Eating at Boatwright's had not been the plan for dinner, but after a very filling breakfast at Kona, we realized there was no way we would be ready to eat again at the WCC for a late lunch as planned ...

... Let me just tell you that this restaurant is Aaaaa-mazing! Everything was crazy delicious, and unexpectedly so. Honestly, this was my second favorite meal of the entire trip.

Yummy! Thank you for the fabulously tasty reviews (and pics). Your entire dish of steak medallions, mac n cheese and asparagus has my mouth watering! We are looking forward to our stay in POR next week and with one open TS left ... we will most likely try out Boatwright's!

My sister and I LOVE creme brulee and have tried many of them at disney. Le Cel is one of our favorites, but #2 at disney. Our absolute favorite is the double vanilla bean creme brulee at HBD. It is just soooo yummy!

I also discovered that the dole whip floats with pineapple vanilla swirl is AMAZE-BALLS! so good! definitely adds another level to it. Also all that pineapple can be a little too much

Sorry if this is common knowledge and I missed it, but what is "HBD"? Love creme brulee so am interested to know where to try this double vanilla bean variety? (Is it in WDW?)

Double Vanilla Bean...YUM. I bet I would love that also! And you are right about too much pineapple. The vanilla addition is perfect

Hollywood Brown Derby in Hollywood Studios. I've never tried it, but the menu looks great.

Your review was great...everything looks amazing!

Thanks so much!!!:goodvibes
