...the SS is really awesome! And, breakfast at Tusker House was amazing, although I'm not sure if they moved it to another location or not...:confused3

The breakfast is held in a large, private room at Pizzafari (moved there about 3 years ago!) ::yes:: The atmosphere there isn't quite as "authentic" as the school room at Tusker House was, but the larger room is much more comfortable (and easier for the guides to visit with everyone)! :thumbsup2

Kimmar: Tell DH you must make another trip to AKL soon -- for informational purposes! :rolleyes1

;)

I haven't stayed AKL club yet (will this April), but in general no, you can not make a dinner out of the appetizers, but yes, you can make a decent breakfast out of it. The big special event is the sunrise safari, you have to pay for it, but everyone says it is excellent. We have ours booked. It is only available Sunday and Thursday mornings though. Enjoy!

good to know the BF is good that will save us some moola. Bummer about dinner though. I guess we can just use that for a snack break. Thanks for all the ideas!

thanks...the SS does sound like loads of fun. BF included always makes me happy. Better check into that. That might be a nice thing to do on our travel day.

Hello everyone,

I hope someone can help me. I booked a one bed savannah view suite with club level last night for our stay at the beginning of August. Does anyone have any recent reviews, photos or information on these rooms please?

many thanks and happy new year

From Sarah

Hi. Shortly, I'll be enjoying my first stay at AKL. I made an ADR for breakfast at the Grand Floridian and the cast member told me that I should allow 1.5 hrs to get to the hotel. Seems excessive for a Saturday morning in January, especially since I know my way around the TTC and monorail.

Was she just exaggerating?

90 minutes is the standard recommendation for travel inside of the Disney property. If you had booked a meal at Boma, they would have rambled off the same script.

You will have to switch if you do bus. Probably bus to MK then monorail to GF would be best.
Personally I would drive if you have a car, or get a cab. Bell services can get the cab for you, just call down a bit before you are heading down from your room.

 ....better pack a lite lunch for on the way...but srsly, you can take a bus to MK and then hop on the monorail to GF....

We have a standard studio booked at Kidani the first week in February. What are the chances that we could maybe get an upgrade to a savannah view? Is it even possible at all?

Is there a certain area of Kidani to request?

Thanks! :goodvibes

This thread makes me want to go back to AKL again so badly!

Lauren- we didn't stay in Kidani but we were booked for a Jambo standard studio when we were there three weeks ago. We were generously upgraded to a savannah view by our check-in CM. Our room was not ready yet and after checking in we had already left the desk when he came rushing over to us and said a savannah room was ready if we wanted that one instead. I think we just got lucky that day!

....typically, during slower times, chances are better that you'll get upgraded....however, don't take it as gospel truth...

Kimmar is right, don't count on it. If it is really important to you to have the savannah room then book it.
If you go in expecting a free upgrade & it doesn't happen, you don't want that to spoil your trip.
