Spring Promo Open to Disney Visa Holders

so I I would have to wait for Disney to bill me, at the 45 mark, for my remaining balance? and then, pay it and not get my rewards in time for April 23 (our departure).

I can't open the card, and book a $5K vacation on it and pay for it in the next month? that is furstrating.....

You could pay your whole trip once you get the card and get the points the following month.

You cant book this deal until it goes to the gp because you wont have your card number to pay at least the deposit with.

I just got off the phone with a very nice Cast Member, I changed our May 6-13 reservation at All Star Music, 5 day park hopper pass to the new discount. I saved $240, not great, but still a savings. I did hate the idea of paying full price without any Free Dining or anything, so the $240 is appreciated at this point.
The hold time on the phone was way too long, but did pay off in the end.

Booked CSR for 6 nights 6/5-6/11 = $2390.30 with hopper and water parks for 2 kids 2 adults.

Saved $453.72

Total call was 40 minutes. I had a $200 gift card but they would only take my Disney Visa at payment for the deposit. :(

We only saved $200 off our stay at POFQ but I will take it. We just did not want to switch to any other resort.
Also my agent said that the person she talked to said that the DV discount has been very popular so far.

I figure I will get an answer fast here:

anyone know if I apply for the disney visa today, will they let me book with the discount today?

also, if I put the entire trip on the card, and pay it, will I earn rewards on that and have time to redeem then in time for our trip in late April 2013?

I'm not sure if the biggest "plus" for you would be getting the rewards, or getting to book the discount early, so this may not work for you. But if you were mainly concerned with booking the promo asap, you could go to Chase tomorrow and get the debit card on the spot and come home and use it to apply the promo discount.

There is no stay requirement for the room discount, but to take advantage of the tickey discount you need to

Thank you so much! We don't need tickets since we are traveling with family earlier in the week, arriving on Easter, so we just need the room only discount. I'll give a call tomorrow. Tonight, we watch POTC Dead Man's Chest!

Okay, here are my totals--for anyone who is wondering about a value for 8 nights:

POP-May 25-June 2 (8 nights)
4 "adults"--me, DH,DS,DD
9 day tickets with Park Hopper and Water Parks

Listed price-$2881.70
DVisa price-$2,504.88
Savings of-$376.82

Oh, remember the days of free dining--THAT would have been a savings of $1,120.

$13 (based on menus) X 4 (people) X 2 QS/day X 8 (days)=$832
QS is $35/day for "adults=$1,120
Difference of $288.

Then, I figure the snack and mug difference--

4 snacks @ approx. $4 for 8 days=$128
4 mugs @$16.58=$66.
128 + 66= $194

Still around $100 cheaper to go without QS IF we do a snack a day and mugs; however, is $100 worth the convenience of scanning a card? Something else that I have to think about.
Oh, wait--I forgot that QS includes dessert, which my figure of $13 does not. Now, are desserts at every meal worth $100?????

to pp...looks like you have your numbers right...and while I enjoyed the fun of soda mugs, and scanning a card for food...no, those things aren't worth the extra $$ IMHO! do your plan, and pay oop!
The only way all those extra desserts and drinks are 'worth it' is when dining is 'free'.... we never, ever finished all of the food at qs while on the plan. And my people can EAT.

Based on the quote my TA gave me this AM for June, only the tickets were discounted, not the room (or a VERY small %). We are switching to POR.

Hi only to know because you have posted 2 differents scenarios, are you rtickets discounted or not, and if you can tell us how much you have saved switching form POFQ to POR because I already have posted that POFQ don´t will be discounted at all when I post the spreadshet. Thank you for your time and I´m very happy with your savings have a great 2013 :wizard:

Danny I saved 5% off my standard room at POFQ with this deal and I had the tix too.

8 nights, 8 day PH, with dining plan...and save 150 bucks. We weren't willing to switch resorts.

Hi Danny

If I would have stayed with POFQ and gotten the discounted tickets, I would have saved $170.94 for 14 nights. I did not ask for a breakdown for what was a ticket discount and what was room discount. And yes, we both agree that we knew in advance that POFQ would not be discounted (or at least not discounted much) as it seldom is anymore for any offer.

By switching to POR we saved $551.30 on the room portion for 14 nights in June. Since we are staying beyond the promo dates, only my first 10 nights are discounted.

If I would have gotten the tickets, I would have saved an additional $67.64 for two 10 day park hoppers ($33.82 each). Per your ticket chart, I was expecting to save $146.76 on the tickets ($73.38 each). I know $80 is not a lot in the grand scheme of things but I also do not like WDW packages. I prefer room only and to get my tickets at a discount from an outside broker (Undercover Tourist). So to answer your question, no, I did not get the tickets.

As for my comment on the other thread about the chart being wrong, you will see that in my case, it was indeed wrong. Does that mean I am not grateful for the information in advance? Of course not. Disappointed that my numbers didn't match up? Yes. Placing the blame on you? Nope. I would never shoot the messenger ;)

Hmmm, for my May trip, I can get a standard room at Pop for $1179.00 (20% off rack rate), a standard room with 10 day park hopper for $1550.90 and a standard room with 10 day hopper and DDP for $2106.80. That's $294.72 off the room and $27.48 off a 10 day hopper.

However, I currently have ten nights booked through a third party for a one bedroom condo at Wyndham Bonnet Creek for $895.00 for those same ten nights ($283.00 cheaper than the Visa discount, plus it's a one bedroom condo at a Deluxe resort compared with a tiny room at Pop). Think I'll keep the condo I've got (cheaper and alot more space, but still on WDW property).

Like I have sayed in the other thread, please, double check with Disney or your TA about the price of the tickets they have quoted you, may be they have added water parks because the price I have poseted IS ::yes::correct. At less you have saved 551 on your room with this offer, Let´s celebrate that and let´s see in 5 days, thank you :goodvibesagain

:thumbsup2 Danny !!!

Spent less than 10 minutes on the phone and applied the discount to my 4 night room only stay at POP for June. I'm happy with a savings of $152! Wahoo!

I also booked for POR the room was 25% off so I was pleased with that but I was also disappointed to see the tickets were not discounted as deeply as the chart showed. I only saved about $20-25 per ticket. Maybe the chart didn't really include tax? Idk but I was glad for the heads up about the discount coming, thanks Danny!! I will check again in a few days to see if the site shows a cheaper price. Cuz, if so, I will be calling back! :)

I had a ressie in a LM room at AoA for my 3 kids and I for March 12-17. I asked my TA if I'd save some $$ moving to Pop or what the cost would be to upgrade with this new discount to a Mod. I could save $300 moving to Pop or I could save $80 moving to CSR. So CSR here we come! I'm very excited to upgrade to a Mod and save some money, just a little but every bit counts. I've always wanted to stay at CSR, we were booked there in 2009 for the Marathon weekend and got moved due to overbooking. Kids are so excited to check out the pool!
