A Mostly Captioned Picture Report updated 2/10x4 The End!

What an awesome day!!! I have been to Boma once for breakfast and it was really good. But not as good as dinner there- Boma just may be my favorite restaurant at Disney.

I'll have dinner there for the first time in February. I can't wait to try it!

AKL is beautiful, but I agree that it is not close enough to everything. I like the idea of being able to walk to at least one of the theme parks from my resort, which is the main reason I love the Beach Club so much.

Exactly! If I'm going to have to ride the bus everywhere, then I might as well stay at POR and save the $$.

My family usually plans a trip over to Blizzard Beach after a short day at AK. It is just so easy to get there! Typhoon Lagoon is my favorite, too, but the family ride at BB is so much better!

Yeah, that family ride at BB is awesome!

The food and view at CG looked fantastic! Haven't been there yet, but everytime I read a review or see pictures I am tempted!

You should really try it!

WOW! You really made the most of the EMH at MK! :worship:

The picture of the Dumbo ride is very cool. I remember your story about the dropped phone. :scared1:

You know, that phone finally gave out a couple of months ago. We left the contract going and got Sweetie an iPhone 4 for Christmas. No trips off of Dumbo for that one!

The theming at both are really great. I like Blizzard beach because it is different, but I like Typhoon Lagoon because I love to be floating along listening to Jimmy Buffet!

Ooohhh...if Typhoon Lagoon plays Jimmy then that may make me go there. Love Jimmy Buffet!

After taking some pictures on a coffee run, Sweetie and I left the room to get to EMH at Animal Kingdom. Before we left, though, I had to snap pictures of the lake and scenery I ran through that morning:

What a pretty sight!

We then went over to the bus stop and headed to our first area for the day. . .

DSC_7544.jpg

Weren't we just here?

DSC_7548.jpg

Ah, AK AM EMH, where have you been for the last year?!?

DSC_7549.jpg

Hmmmmm. . .a bit crowded. Turn to the right through Dinoland!

DSC_7552.jpg

So we can get to that!

We rode Everest 6 times (yes, 6) by 9 am. And before breakfast, we had grabbed all of these:

DSC_7560.jpg

Those in the middle? They were return ones because EE went down while we were in line the day before.

We had to stop for breakfast. We discovered this place for breakfast the previous summer. . .

DSC_7558.jpg

And no, no breakfast pizza

DSC_7559.jpg

Yum, the breakfast of champions, aka, the Bounty Platter at every CS location on site.

So fast passes in hand, we were heading off for the safari!

I always love early morning pictures....so pretty!!

I can't believe how many times y'all rode EE. That's awesome! :thumbsup2

Before I can even get into the pictures from the safari, I have to say that it is the one ride I do almost every trip that I really don't like. The reason I don't like it is sometimes this is the one ride that can wreck every plan. And I mean every plan. I've been stuck with giraffes crossing the road for 45 minutes on this ride. You just can't ever tell what the animals are going to do.

Anyway, we used fast passes for the ride this day.

DSC_7563.jpg

Sunbathing here, nothing to see. . .

DSC_7567.jpg

Outta the way, I have this

DSC_7570.jpg

Is it wrong I'm doing the doggy paddle?

DSC_7572.jpg

Make sure you get my good side

DSC_7582.jpg

No pictures please

DSC_7590.jpg

Okay, if you insist

DSC_7600.jpg

Well, hello there, beautiful

DSC_7601.jpg

Wow. Yep, the giraffes blocked the trucks. This one is filled with food and it lures the animals off of the road.

DSC_7603.jpg

You'll know I'm here if I hit you.

DSC_7609.jpg

Hey, guys, the people are here!

DSC_7619.jpg

No real caption. This one id just beautiful!

DSC_7636.jpg

No, you can't even look at me.

DSC_7638.jpg

Hakuna Matata! Hey, where is Timon?

DSC_7640.jpg

I'm sorry, this bird looks like a dinosaur to me.

DSC_7642.jpg

And I'm scared of it.

Only a 15 minute delay this time, we headed on out to spend more time at Animal Kingdom.

Love the safari pics!

Funny you say that you always ride the safari but you don't really like it. It's the one ride I always ride in AK that I actually like. :lmao:

It's not that I don't like it, it's just it's hard to plan for and the control freak in me can't stand that. :rotfl2:

Lovely pictures as always!

I don't think that I could handle riding EE 6 times!! Especially 6 times by 9am!

We left the safari to head back over to Expedition Everest. We had a fast pass left over and kne we wanted to use it before we left.

DSC_7655.jpg

*sigh* My favorite.

I love this ride!

As we were leaving, we had to wait for this. . .

IMG_1452.jpg

Out of our way. . .we're celebrities!

Yes, the duck family had a CM escort!

We left Animal Kingdom to drive back to the resort and then head over to. . .

IMG_1459.jpg

IMG_1460.jpg

Sweetie shopping for pins

IMG_1463.jpg

My favorite store

IMG_1464.jpg

For a long time, this was my Facebook pic

IMG_1470.jpg

Pretty flowers outside of Portobello. I want these at my house.

We headed to. . .

IMG_1472.jpg

To go to here:

IMG_1475.jpg

This was our first visit to Disney Quest. How did we feel about it? Stay tuned. . .

Interested to see what y'all thought of Disney Quest. We haven't been there since 2004 and we thought it was just alright.

When we last left, Sweetie and I were heading into DisneyQuest. We've been asked what we thought of it. The short answer to that question is that we really were not awed by it. There is one good thing there: CyberSpace Mountain. But it certainly does not make up for the price tag.

IMG_1476.jpg

We did make a pretty cool coaster

IMG_1477.jpg

This was just okay.

We stayed there all of an hour and a half. As we were leaving, we were surveyed. I noticed that on new packages a free pass to DisneyQuest is included. Perhaps they hope to get people interested. I would not pay to go back.

IMG_1486.jpg

The price for the balloon is reasonable--like $20. Still too scared of heights to try it

IMG_1487.jpg

Jenny!

IMG_1488.jpg

We headed for the bus stop. We had expected to spend longer at DisneyQuest, but felt it would be best to just go to the Yacht and Beach Clubs.

IMG_1489.jpg

For some reason, I feel like I'm home.

IMG_1490.jpg

Is it just me or is this like a magnet for little kids?

IMG_1493.jpg

Ah, I can almost smell this lobby.

IMG_1494.jpg

The famous short cut hallway

IMG_1496.jpg

That leads to this gate, very close to the International Gateway

IMG_1497.jpg

IMG_1498.jpg

IMG_1499.jpg

I believe these were left over from the International FLower and Garden Festival at the International Gateway in Epcot

IMG_1502.jpg

My favorite thing about the Epcot area resorts

IMG_1505.jpg

Ah, France

IMG_1507.jpg

And our reason for heading there. . .Creme Brulee from Boulangerie Patisserie

IMG_1510.jpg

My husband's favorite camel

IMG_1512.jpg

Yeah, I'm not so sure I'd buy that. That's $82, not $42

IMG_1516.jpg

I love this tilework

IMG_1518.jpg

My favorite sight
continued. . .

Here is a little known fact. . .you can call the pay phones in Epcot's World Showcase. Prior to leaving, dh and I decided to surprise our daughter. So as we were heading over there, I texted dh and told him to call #2.

IMG_1521.jpg

Sweetie non the wiser

IMG_1523.jpg

Me verifying which number to call

IMG_1525.jpg

"Mom, the phone is ringing."

IMG_1526.jpg

What do you mean, answer it?

IMG_1527.jpg

IMG_1528.jpg

Daddy!!!

IMG_1530.jpg

IMG_1531.jpg

Now me talking to him. . ."Did we get her good?"

We headed back over to the resorts area. . .

IMG_1536.jpg

I'll be there soon!

IMG_1539.jpg

One of my favorite beaches in the world

IMG_1548.jpg

We just went here and sat for a while. It was so nice!

IMG_1550.jpg

And the view was wonderful

IMG_1554.jpg

Out of our reverie, we headed on to dinner. . .

IMG_1556.jpg

Some people like it. Some hate it. It's one of our favorites on Disney property and I am eating here for both breakfast and dinner in February.

IMG_1557.jpg

She was happy to be here.

After dinner sights. We were heading to Hollywood Studios, where we just did not stay at all. We were too tired. But here's our walk to the bus stop. . .

IMG_1568.jpg

IMG_1573.jpg

IMG_1580.jpg

It's at this point that I decide that one day, I want to run around this lake. Strange desire, I know, but I will do it!

IMG_1586.jpg

We actually went in the ticket styles.

IMG_1589.jpg

And into the park itself.

IMG_1596.jpg

We got in line for this, and then just decided we were too tired to keep going. So we went back to the bus stop to sleep and get a good day in the next day. Time? Like 8pm.

Ooohhh...if Typhoon Lagoon plays Jimmy then that may make me go there. Love Jimmy Buffet!

I was behind an update or two...

What a great start at AK

EEEMH (Everest Early Extra Magic Hour)

I love your pictures from the safari- really nice shots of the hippos. I'm not sure that I have seen them out of the water before. Or maybe I am never looking on the land as we go by.

That is one great shot of a lion tale!

But of course the cutest animal picture of all from that day is the mama with her baby ducks!

I didn't know about the DQ ticket now being included with the packages. Blech! We went once or twice, not my cup of tea! The Pirates Simulation is cool. The River Rafting was too hard for my family. We didn't try cyber space mountain- any comparisons to Sum of All Thrills in EPCOT? Better? Worse? Different?

The biggest issue we had at DQ were rude people. There is no real time limit to the games you are playing, so you can be waiting in line to try something and the guy using the game doesn't leave. Once we waited about 10 mintues for a game, when the guy (always a guy) finally left, another family tried to swoop in and play. Um. NO!

I loved your visit to the Yacht & Beach Club, of course, complete with secret passageway.

You had a really fun journey into the World Showcase. I have never successfully executed the phone call to the booths! I now have the numbers programmed into my phone, but on one trip, either I kept forgetting to bring the number or I had the numbers but not my phone. Then, on our June class trip, the night we were in the world showcase was pouring rain!

My family enjoys the Cape May Cafe too. Glad to hear you will be eating there a couple of times soon.

Yep, sounds like DisneyQuest is pretty much the same as it was back in 2004. :sad2: But, it sounds like y'all made the best of the rest of the day and had a nice, leisurely time.

Love that your DH called the phone booth and surprised your DD!
