I usually just get Bell Services to collect our bags from the room and keep them until we're ready to depart. It works fine.

Andre

I agree call down and have them come get them and then check them with bell services until your ready.

We stayed their last night. We checked in around 7:30 as we were switching hotels and they had a room ready but second floor. I jumped on it because we needed to refrigerate food, but DH was not happy carrying our bags up the steps, especially when we were in a hurry. At least we were close to a bus stop!

Bit late for you now, but both issues could have been solved by Bell Services - they have fridges in the luggage rooms to keep stored stuff cool, and they can also take your bags straight to your room anyway, there's no need for you to carry anything.

I stayed here for the first time way back in 2002 and i loved it. also stayed here in 2004 french quater also loved it. This is my favorite resort because it has the feel of a dexlue. Got to stay here in september 2012 in the royal guest room and will get to stay here again in september 2013. The fridge worked great kept everything realy cold.

We arrive at POR in 7 days. Checked in online Monday, faxed our room request this morning and have already gotten an email from them stating we have been granted our request. How we wish we discovered POR 12 years ago, haven't stayed there before but we already LOVE it.

Thank you, Venomhatch, may some pixie dust come your way

Now, off to wait to check in for our flights:thumbsup2
Why does time go so slow before your trip and so fast during:confused3

We'll be checking out on Saturday and have almost a whole case of bottled water left over. If you are at POR or checking in soon and would like the water, just let me know :)

Oh I'm so jealous - can't wait to check out POR in person. Have a great trip and make sure and let us know how you liked the resort.

Does anyone know how much the carriage rides are?

I thought I saw that it was $45 for a 25 minute ride... But I'm not 100% positive about that. I know someone else will know for sure though. ;)

Here's the info from the FAQ in the first post of this FAQ thread:

Horse-drawn carriage rides are offered in the evenings (weather permitting) from 6pm to 9:30pm. Cost is $45 per 25-minute ride for up to four adults (or two adults and three small children). You can make reservations at the Riverside marina, or in advance via (407) WDW PLAY.

So I am in search of advice or perspective. We are booked at POR from Feb 22-Mar 2. It will be DH, DD9, DD 7mo, and myself. We stayed in POR in May 2011 and loved it which is why we are coming back but now I am worrying about space with an added child and her gear. We will have a pack and play, stroller and extra suitcase. Do I have reason to panic? Should I look into a deluxe with larger rooms? I would love to hear from someone who recently traveled with a family similar in size and the rooms worked.

I think you'll be OK. I'd suggest asking for a mansion building room though, as the extra AB fold-down bed won't help out much in your situation (2 adults, 1 child, 1 infant) and you lose out on storage space.

If only it were possible to book it, your perfect option would be an Alligator Bayou King Bed room - two adults in the King Bed, 9-year-old on the fold-down Murphy bed, and plenty of space then for the pack'n'play and other stuff. However there is currently no way to book that option for more than two people (other than extra infants under 3). You could send a fax a few days before you arrive asking if it would be possible to assign you such a room, but you certainly can't specifically book it.

See you there anyway, we'll be at POR at the same time.

I arrive on Wednesday with my 11 yr old DD and my son who is in the Army. We haven't seen him in quite a while, so we are double excited about this trip! We have checked in online and faxed the room requests this morning :goodvibes

I have a question about the shampoo/conditioner provided at POR. Is it the combined shampoo/conditioner in one bottle or are they separate products?

TIA!

It's normally combined product, except in the premium (Royal) rooms where they are now giving out separate products. You could always ask for some of course, I'm sure mousekeeping would help if they can.

I think you'll be fine. We're at POR right now (in a mansion room) and the room has plenty of places to store stuff (suitcases, etc.).

Has this changed since September? I was there the 1st to the 8th in building 18. We had the separate shampoo and conditioner.

Here at POR. Sad to say we are checking out tomorrow. Been an amazing trip with an amazing resort. Everyone is so very nice. My wife has eaten about 17472 cups of the mac and cheese from the food court so it must be good. I have tried 3 or 4 different items which have all been good. The Royal room we are in now in oak manor is great. Hate to leave but we have decided to come back in September.
