oh thank you so much! They all look so exciting, it will be hard to choose which ones to go one? When can we actually start booking the excursions? My cruise is in June.
MinnieDiva said:It depends...are you a new DCL cruiser? If so, then 75 days out, which is sometime in April, I think. If I remember correctly, I can book excursions on March 17th for the June 15th cruise (silver CC member and 90 days out).

We're also staying at Siete suizas - we arrive mid-day on the 13th.... When will you get there?I'm staying at siete suizas. Kim had booked an apt. I'm not sure if that changed when she actually bkd airfare because I believe shes leaving a day later than she wanted to.

No one? No one guessed? Sigh, ok, I'll give....yes, I was at a Rick Steves lecture....on Italy! It was awesome! But as I'd made Ashleigh sit thru a class before that, we only stayed for about 2/3'ds of his lecture as she was soooooo done.
The first class was called "packing light and right". I giggle when I say this. Refer to previous discussions of clothing/outfit preparation. This woman traveled 3+ weeks with a handbag and a carry-on size suitcase. Ain't happening here, not intentionally anyway. But, she was informative and for those of you interested, they will be posting the travel festival videos on You Tube soon (according to them...not there as of right now).
I got some literature from the festival that I have yet to peruse. It was little books that they give as supplements for their tours. I will report back if it is anything interesting...
I was looking at my siggie and realizing that we're just over 7 months out! WOOT! Remember when I started this at the 499 day mark?
Did anyone else who has already booked a Rome in limo reservation get the email about the prepayment discount? Thoughts?
MinnieDiva said:Personally, I'd love to get it paid and out of the way. In Rome, it would shave off $85 off the total bill and $43 off Pisa/Lucca (at today's conversion rates). I loathe coming home to a really big credit card bill.
Kim, there won't be a credit card bill. He wants cash. Besides it would only save $15 pp to tie up our $ now.

yep I think I will pay it now to get it out of the way thats more money for wine!!
Also, what if we pay now and he doesn't show? You recall my experience with international cc transactions...

You may have extra money for wine, but is it worth the risk to pay for the tour in advance of paying off the cruise. What happens if something happens and you don't go? Not unheard of to lose your job or someone to get ill...things happen. When I used this company last time, we paid them in cash, which is what they want this time to get the discount. The other alternative is to not pay them a fee to use a credit card, so then what are you really saving?
It's hell to get money back or fight an international cc transaction should you get screwed...I would be careful...take it from one who knows how it feels
