WDW Commando Club

In my Commandoish ways I have arranged a little Christmas magic to our block, I arranged that Santa will be coming to our house next Sun night on a Firetruck, all the kids on our block will be here (around 10 of them) for what they think is to watch Christmas movies and playtime:lmao:

Every year the fire Dept has a fundraiser where they ask for a $10 donation to stop at a house and you give Santa a present to give to the child, since we will have a bunch of kids, I tell everyone it's $10 per child and they get a really nice donation:goodvibes Everyone is Happy, Happy, Happy:cool1:

I came up with a plan for the next WDW trip:confused3, 5 days of WDW (although I might get a 7day pass in case we want to go a couple of non Disney nights:cool1:), Gatorland, 1day at Buscsh Garedens and water park, 1 day at Seaworld and water park, and we will try 2 days at Universial:scared1: (DS has never been there) we will get in on a Sun and head home the following Weds, and will stay at All Star Movies the whole trip:confused3

That sounds fun, busy, but fun!:thumbsup2 I have a few Commando tips for Universal as we have always done 2 days there.;) (I have not been since the addition of HP though).

:welcome: You are member #220:cool1:, I see your sig says 8 days since the Magic, is there a story to tell:confused3:cool2:

Of course there is a story, isn't there always? :)

We hung out with friends during our trip (a family who vacationed at the same time and met up with us) and being that they have two darling little girls, ages 4 and 5, we couldn't "commando" like we usually do (myself, DW, DS12). So on our very last day we broke away and used our first park hoppers ever to crash DHS at open, bang out TSM 2x, ST 2x, RnRC, and ToT 2x before the crowds even got there. A 20 minute walk brought us to Epcot and we're lunching in Norway by noon! Grab Soarin' FP, ride Nemo then hop the mono to T&TC. Ferry to MK, parade taping day so we had the whole back of the park to ourselves! Managed all three mountains twice each, HM 2x, then the path was clear to POTC. Coffee on Main St, mono back to Epcot for Soarin', dinner, MS and fireworks! Feet blisters. That's my recent commando story.

I'll share this as well, since it was our largest dose of pixie dust probably ever! We got a resort upgrade! ASMu family suite right next to transportation, overlooking the pool! This certainly wasn't the room I PAID for... :smokin:

I know nothing about Universal, the last time we were there was 10 yrs ago, I was mad the whole time thanks to the Great parking garage they have, some little kid almost got clipped by a car speeding though the garage:scared:, that kinda put me in a foul mood for the day and just wanted to leave, I hope they put some speed bumps in by now, it's weird how something that really doesn't effect you can have such a impact on your day:confused3

Sweet:thumbsup2, I never did the walk from HS to Epcot, I've seen the path, we usually take the boat, but you probably made better time, since the boat makes a couple of stops, and you did better then the bus besides the wait you would have to enter at the main entrance.

Your day is a perfect example of "You never know what you will encounter" and no matter what you have planned for the day, it can change, you were aware of what was going on. came up with a plan and made it work, getting a lot more then usual done:thumbsup2, This has been my favorite way of touring the last few trips and it has paid off::yes::

I've been back from WDW now for almost a month, but for the next trip (August) I already have some things to look into:confused3

- New Test Track
- New Fantasyland (although I already have done it, it was a dress rehearsal so I'm sure on a everyday tour things are done differently and more things are added)
- Be Our Guest, I've seen it 1st hand, looks cool, but I'm not sold on the menu, need feedback on the food, and if there is any kind of show, although I'd really like to eat there, I'm on the fence on if it is all the hype:confused3

BOGR, food and service were great, no show. It is beautifully themed.

I'm sorry that I haven't been very visible lately on this thread. We've had a brutal year financially, and am only now ready to start planning and saving for a trip. Last week I got the best Christmas present ever from DH. He decided to delay the WDW trip till 2016 so that I could do another solo trip to DL at Christmas time. Best present ever!!:cloud9:. So I'm now in the midst of planning another trip to DL, while still on a fact finding mission about WDW. I'm going in Nov, prefer the last week of Nov, but it depends if DH can get the time off work to take care of the kids so I can go play. While I've been to DL during Halloween time, have never been to DL during Christmas, so can't wait to go! Safe to say the kids want to bury me in Coal at the moment, as I'm being naughty. Better not talk about it too much around the kids, otherwise they'll plot something evil against me when I get back from my trip:upsidedow:upsidedow.

I don't know how you do it, my wife and son would never let me go on a solo trip:worship:

Nice:thumbsup2, The only solo trip it seems I get to take is the one to work:rolleyes1

Something I never looked for, are there any photo pass photographers in DTD or the Boardwalk, there are a lot of great shots that can be took at these locations:confused3

i don't recall ever seeing any, but then again I never really looked for one:confused3

What did you have:confused3, I would go for the steak, but it looks really small and thin for $30:confused3

I think Shula's spoiled me for $15 more I had a piece of meat that covered the plate and left full, yes it was expensive but felt like I got my monies worth:confused3

Even LeCellier, I like it there, but same thing the steak is not that big, now that they are going to 2 credits for lunch or dinner, if I go back it would be out of pocket, I could never spend 2 credits for the steak offered:confused3

I had the tuna salad, it was very good!

I let my DH go on union related business trips all the time. He feels bad that I let him go fly solo all the time, while I'm stuck home with the kids. This coming year he's got 1 trip to Maryland, possibly a quick trip to Toronto, 3 days in Portland Oregon for the ATHS vintage truck show, and a couple of day trips. I went solo to DL in Oct/10 for 9 days and had a blast. I plan on going the last week of Nov/13, but can't start booking anything until DH locks in his vacation time. This trip will be for 6 days. DL is the one place where I don't mind going solo. The kids are royally PO'D at me right now, but they know I'll be bringing them back some cool Christmas gifts. It gives me a break from the kids and re energizes me. Once again I'll be booking this trip DIY, and have already scored 4 1 day hopper passes free. Have a great day!!

I can't wait for the AAA Jan newsletter to arrive to see what kind of free stuff they are offering if you book a trip to WDW or a Disney Cruise during the month of Jan (for anytime during the year), this when I always book the price is pretty much the same (few bucks cheaper) as if you booked with Disney, but you get the free gifts + the AAA perks:cool1:

Got to get the most out of your dollar:thumbsup2
