December 2013: We just booked!

I am trying to decide if it's worth it to upgrade to the preferred rooms! I will want coffee every morning, so there's that. :) I was thinking of requesting the Love Bug area (assuming I don't upgrade). Is it really that far from the food court?

To be honest, I never made my way over to the Love Bug section. I walked around the Toy Story, Fantasia, and 101 Dalmation sections, and some of the buildings were a good distance away.

Coffee is my main goal in the mornings, as well. I stayed in Woody, on the 3rd floor, practically at the end of the walkway. To get to the food court, I had went down the elevator, around the big display area, down a long sidewalk (past the playground and smoking section) and to the food court doors...I'd say it took about 3 minutes if I was strolling. And that was in a preferred room, so I'm not sure what a standard would be like.

I looked at the resort map, though, and it looks like if you stayed in the Love Bug section, you'd just have to pass one of Fantasia's buildings and the main pool, which actually wouldn't be too horrible. A pretty straight shot...:confused3

Thanks! 3 minutes sounds right up my alley (must have coffee!! :coffee:) I'll have to strongy consider this, and DBF would love Toy Story area. lol

I'm hoping to book my DVC at WL just to see it at Christmas! Can try until January though!

Ok, so I know this is WAY far away, but I wanted to see if any of you December vets had any thoughts on this. I read that the Christmas parade taping is usually Dec 1/2, which is USUALLY a sat/sun. But in 2013, Dec 1, is Sunday. I had seen another post where someone thought that meant they wouldn't tape the parade until the following weekend (Dec 7/8). That seems a little late to me, so does anyone have any thoughts/experiences?

Count us in. Had the husband pick between Halloween or Christmas decor as this is our last "free to travel" fall time before our DS starts school. He picked Christmas so I checked crowd calendars and we're going Dec 7-15. We'll be there for his birthday the 11th. Hoping to do something special for him. We just went in May for SWW but this will be a whole different experience as I won't be 7 months pregnant and our DS will be 4.5 and we'll bring our DD who will be 16 months at time of trip.

Can't decide where to stay. Did a split stay at VWL/AKV in May but am hoping for free dining this time. If nothing is offered we may stay at AKV on DVC points and if it is CBR or AoA(if they offer discounts there).

Is it wrong to be so excited over a year away?? :rotfl:

I am going the same dates! We are doing a split stay between WL and CR. I have been excited since we booked the trip 499 days out. I come on this and other Disney fan boards just about every day. Where are you from? I am in MD.

I just changed our reservations for the third time to POFQ. We are going Dec 9-13. We have never been at Christmastime so I am a little nervous about the crowd sizes. It will be ds second time going and dd first time going. DS is going to be 11 but dd will be 4. Any suggestions to keep things smooth sailing?

We're currently living in Texas. I lived in DC for about a year, still have family there. Are you near the BWI area?

We did a split stay at WL and AKL in May. WL is beautiful!! I bet it'll be great around Christmas.

I'm so excited already, we're going through a rough patch right now and it's nice to be able to look forward to Disney.

I am looking to go in December 2013. This will be our first time during the holiday season, so I am super excited. The dates I was originally looking at going were 12/8 - 12/14 but then I read somewhere on the boards that they think pop warner will be that week. The fact that I want a discount I started thinking about the week prior. That is Thanksgiving weekend that we would be flying out and I am sure flights are going to be much more expensive.

Then I came across this article:

http://**************.net/2012/11/14/when-pop-warner-2013-walt-disney-world/

For now, I will just sit and wait until a discount comes out, or a pin code for December. Then I'll make my plans, but I am planning on December 2013 this year! :santa:

I am deciding between 2 different kinds of trips. My original thought was a parks/cruise trip. So Dec 4-8th for parks, then Dec 8th-12 4 night DCL. But the more things I'm trying to add in, I just don't know if 3 park nights is enough. I will want to see the beautiful castle in all it's lit up glory, probably MVMCP, Osborne lights, CP, what else am I missing? Seems like a lot to try and pack into a combined stay.

Maybe I should save the cruise for another time (again) and do our usual 6/7 night trip? And we are DVC so we have to book in January!

Anyone have any advice? By then, this will be our 5th trip, but first during the holidays, so we are fine not doing all of the usual stuff. It's just me and DBF, no kids.

We did 7 night land/sea in dec 2007, and added in BG on Sat before our Sun check-in. The park days were non-stop fun, but we did have to cancel an early ADR at Chef Mickeys after staying out late for MVMCP. The cruise was awesome - nice and relaxing. We we got back to port, we headed straight back to WDW since we still had days remaining on our KTTW cards. We didn't leave until the following Tuesday. We had a blast! And if we ever get to cruise again, we would do WDW, DCL, and back to WDW.

I am about a half hour from BWI.
