Most overused word?

So called cutesy spellings:

Ressie
Souvie

Seriously? They aren't cute, they are dumb. Is it that hard to actually spell out words?

Please add sammie to the above list.

Also I just named my dog Snowflake. Based on this thread no Snowflake stories for the Dis no matter how cute!:sad1:

popcorn:: (not a "word" but way overused IMO)

YES!! What I totally don't understand is when there is a HUGE space, so you have to scroll down, and then there is no text at all, just the eating popcorn smiley. I have seen that many times. What's the point of the huge space?

popcorn::

Ok, I just tried it. I didn't make the space as long as other posters do. It's more like this:

popcorn::

I'm not trying to be obnoxious, just trying to illustrate my point.

"Snowflake"
"Bullying"

Some abbreviations bother me, I don't really know why - "KWIM", "IIRC", "IMHO". Really, you should not include the "H" in "IMHO" if you're going to lecture someone.

The word "Yummy" in any dining review being written by a grown up.

I hate words like yummy, tummy and mommy. No adult should ever use the words mommy and tummy when speaking with other adults.

mamabear

pooh-sized

fluffy - when someone describes themselves when they're overweight

I cannot abide it when people - grown adults who I assume function as adults in real life -- infantilize themselves by talking like toddlers. Example:

sammie
sammich
samwich
kindy
kiddos
kidlets
yummers
twinsies
ressie
preggers
preggo
furbaby

When I see/hear baby talk by adults, it makes me want to throw something breakable against the wall. It especially squicks me out when I hear an adult woman talking that way to her SO.

The most over used words on the dis.

To die for.

Has anything ever described with that phrase here ever been to die for? Has anything ever described with that phrase even been to kill for? The answer is "no" to both questions. And let me conclude my post by using another over used dis tradition. Because everyone somehow needs to be told it was witty. They can't figure it out on their own.

I can't stand when people write, "pg" for "pregnant". I want to say, "Typing only two letters out of an eight letter word seems sufficient? Typing the other six would've been too much of a strain on you?"

This bugs me too. A lot of the posts on DIS are hard to read when you have to decipher what the poster is actually trying to say. Wether it is strange acronyms (that only a select number of people know about) or it is stupid abbreviated words, like "pg".
