Hi Everyone!

I am very new to this site, but have been reading up on a bunch of wedding threads and found a lot of amazing pictures/ideas so I thought I would start my own and share my journey!

My name is Rachael, I am 17 years old and I met my fiance Euan on June 14th 2011. Euan is 20 years old, and from Dundee, Scotland. I met him while he was working in Epcot on the cultural representative program in the UK pavilion. I knew I was going to marry him literally as soon as I saw him, I know that sounds crazy, but I can't explain it. I even called my mom after I talked to him and told her I was so in love with this guy! It was definitely weird. I added him on facebook when I got home from my vacation, and we took a trip to Disneyland in October 2011, I visited him in Orlando in December 2011, he came up to see me at the end of his program in March 2012, I visited him in Scotland for 3 whole months in July (AMAZING experience!) and now we are going down to Orlando next week for our wedding planning session!

He proposed in this beautiful place called Breamar in Scotland, and luckily his mom got a picture where you can see my reaction-how lucky am I?!

We are getting married in the Wedding pavilion on October 7th 2013, then having our reception at Eau de France to follow. I'm getting super excited! Could any of you tell me how warm it is generally in October down there? Also, does anyone have any ideas where we could possibly get a kilt in Orlando? Thanks so much!!

:cool1:

Congratulations! Sounds like you two have had quite the whirlwind romance - it sounds very romantic! I'm afraid I can't really offer any advice about the kilts or weather in October (I wish I could! haha!) but looking forward to hearing more about your plans and ideas!

Welcome! I got nothing on the kilts, but I got married this October 1, and it was warm! And humid! And it rained almost everyday! But, it didn't bother me at all! Coming from the cold, I welcomed the shorts weather and a little bit of sweat!

Yes it's definitely been interesting, haha being together for a month or few weeks at a time, then not seeing each other for weeks, ha! Thanks for following! I will post more updates and pics as soon as I can :thumbsup2

Thanks! We expected it to be warm, we just hope it isn't too HOT, as our reception will be outside.

Does anyone know where we will get sent if it rains during our reception? If we've paid for illuminations, will we still get to watch them? Thanks!

Oh also, we're getting ready to leave to head down to Florida for our planning session and vacation, and our planning session kit has to be sent back by the 14th, does anyone know if this is via email or snail mail? Thanks so much!!

Here are some pictures of Euan and I! The last one is the proposal picture I mentioned earlier, I love the look on my face :)

Congrats, love the pictures.

October seems to be a very popular wedding month. When I was there in October years and years ago the weather was hot.

The weather really varies that time of the year in Florida. My future brother in law got married last September, and it was cool that day. But the weather is so crazy in FL, so you never really know! I'd plan for muggy :)

Also, I think you can send the planning kit by email.

Hi! For our dessert party, we originally planned to have it in Moracco, but that day they had over 60% chance of rain so it got moved into the America Parlor (I was told at 5:30 that it was moved and that it was going to start at 7:30 - I was alone in the room - hubby was still in park and I almost lost my sh*t trying to call everyone). It was a blessing because it ending up POURING and it was so muggy, everyone would have died if we were outside the whole time. Since the fireworks were still on for the night, we walked down to Moracco 15 minutes before the fireworks started. They told me if it was still raining, but fireworks were still going on, DFTW would give us ponchos to wear.

Welcome! I love your proposal picture! I have a whole bunch of mine, since DF proposed in front of both out families. I hated them at first but now I love that I can remember that moment. Like others have said, October is unpredictable. Last time I was here in October, it was so muggy! Can't wait to read more :)

Joining in for the fun! Congrats on your engagement! And I love the photos. :) The planning kit can be sent via email, and October in FL is kinda warm. I've been there the past 2 Octobers, and it got up into the high 70s to mid 80s.

I'm also planning my wedding for next year (2 months before you), so if you have any questions, let me know! Can't wait to hear all about your plans!!! :goodvibes

Thanks everyone so much for all the info, you've already been a lot of help!

My next questions are concerning my flowers. My dress is fitted. and lacy, with a v-neck, and in ivory. I wanted to have a sort of garden like feel for my flowers, and since Euan is from Scotland, we were hoping to have the Scottish thistle in my bouquet. I'm posting some pictures of the flower ideas I have, let me know what you think! Also, my bridesmaids will probably be wearing Navy, have you seen, or do you think theres any way of getting Navy flowers to blend in a bouquet like this? Thanks everybody!! :yay:

:woohoo:

Oooh those flower pics are so pretty!!! :) I'm sure you could get some navy thrown in. Just ask your floral point of contact while at Disney next week!

I'm also interested in knowing how you were able to schedule your PS so early, considering the wedding is still 10 months away (from today lol!) & Disney is usually pretty hard about the "pricing isn't guaranteed until 6 months" bit (grumble). Is it because your fiance is still overseas living overseas?

Thanks, I will ask at the PS and hopefully we can work something out! My fiance is living in Scotland at the moment, and won't be able to move over until the wedding. We were emailing our planner and told her he was coming over and we were coming down in December and asked if we could schedule a session, and there were no questions asked! Pricing for things may change before our day, but we just want to get an idea of things, and look at all our options.

My brother and sister in law had us wearing navy in their wedding. If you want, I can post a picture of the flowers they chose and you can see if maybe you're want to use anything from there in your bouquet. We had lots of blues and purloined with sunflowers. Just let me know if you would like to see. I love the fact that you are tying in his Scottish heritage :)

YES I WOULD LOVE TO SEE!!! :woohoo: Any pictures you have, thanks! His kilt his a slight bit of yellow in it, so we may use yellow flowers as well, not sure yet though as it isn't one of my favorite colors. Yes getting a few Scottish things in the wedding is a definite! :)

Totally makes sense. :D Have a blast!! Are you guys doing a menu tasting too?

You two make such an adorable couple! :goodvibes I love your flower picks and the idea of adding Scottish thistles to your bouquet!
