Nice!

So I just called my dad (not sure if I told y'all but he's moved into a nursing home now). He had to have 2 bags of platelets today bcz he was low but he sounded stronger. Much better breathing. And was eating a hard candy lol

They have been doing rehab and having him walk a little between parallel bars... he hadn't done that yet today because he was doing the transfusion then. I told him about my trip coming up and I would call before then (but wasn't sure if I'd catch him... ya never know)... so not to worry if he didn't hear from me for a week.

And speaking of whom: She just got notice that her landlord isn't renewing her lease. So now she has to find a new apartment (which means that I have to go help her - she's only legally an adult!) And the new job she wanted fell through. Add her to the "bad luck or no luck" crowd!

I have faith she will get something much better!

Aww, I hope she is able to find a new place quickly and that an even better job presents itself!!
Those troubles definitely aren't light, especially to have to face on your own. I'm sure she really appreciates having you there to help her :thumbsup2
UPDATE: I saw the new apartment this weekend, and it is gorgeous! (At least by city standards.) It's much bigger than the one she's in now, for not a lot more money. And the old place would have raised the rent anyway. So this could turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

And bigger news . . . all of you were right - she got a different job, but one that she was shooting for! We're all so excited! :cheer2::cheer2: New apartment, new job, new year! And it's just in time for Chanukah, which starts on Saturday night. Now helping her move will be a total joy! If only her apartment weren't on the top floor of a building with no elevators.

Congratulation to both of you!

Sorry about the no elevators...

Hi all. Went to step class - sore already. lol

I am pretty bummed over the rates DCL released today for 2014 :(

That was how I felt last year when they released 2013.

I'm bummed over the same-old, same-old itineraries. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the rest of the year will look better. I'm excited about our Fantasy cruise next year but I don't know if we will book anything after that if all 4 ships remain in FL. It is just too expensive for us to travel across country on top of the already expensive fares that DCL charges.

Oh well.... Looks like it may be Princess for us in 2014 (I hope they don't take away my Disney badge for that) :rotfl2:
