Any rumor when 2014 dates come out?

I'm almost glad i booked a suite on NCL for Feb 2014 as looks like our first cruise wont be with Disney at some of the prices i've been reading............guess it will be okay with having nothing to compare but what i've read ;)

I've learned over the past couple of years that yes, while I love the Disney ambiance and Disney characters, a cruise is a cruise. Many other lines have better food and some better adult offerings. But for us, it really has now come down to pricing. Disney is obviously showing no signs of coming into the real world (so to speak) and lining their prices with the industry standards.

I've found four VERY attractive itineraries and much better pricing on two other cruise lines so far -- and I can get a verandah suite on one for $2,000 less than a Disney standard verandah! :thumbsup2 My future vacation planning will now be based on pricing and ports of call, not cruiselines :rolleyes1

You'll have a great time! Enjoy.

Forgive me if this is obvious. I just figured out the "why release dates now?" ......It's all just to piggy back on the New Fantasyland pr when it opens tomorrow. Many of the articles even contain references to New Fantasyland.

Oh. I get it.

YUP. Makes sense now.

So those of you getting price quotes this morning, how are they looking to you? I have a friend who called to book and she said the price was CRAZY compared to 2012 and even 2013!!

They are beyond rediculous....more like stupid crazy!!! There is no way that we would pay almost $7000 for an 11C on a 7 night. That is close to what we paid for the 15-night PC repo in 2008 for a 10.

:sad2: now i'm worried we won't be able to afford to book 2 cabins tomorrow.

I'm looking early January, usually slow period, was hoping it wouldn't be much more expensive than the early 12/13 ones i currently have booked.:confused3

They seem to be along the lines of what was listed for 2013 when they first opened up, possibly a little cheaper. We are having to look into summer for cruising due to DS wanting to get into an early college program for high school and not wanting to have him miss any school. The 7/26 quote of 7090.48 for an 8D on the Fantasy is more than we paid for our 2011 Alaska cruise out of Vancouver though.

So...
RCL 7 night Allure of the seas ocean view balcony deck 11 mid ship April 20th (Easter week) and February 16th (Presidents week) is pricing at just under $4500 for 2A/1C.
February is about $20 more than April.
Feb is Western, April is Eastern. Can't book beyond April.
Can't wait to see how DCL compares tomorrow. Looking to book a 5A on either deck 9 or 10.

Prices are crazy!

If they open low then people will postpone 2013 cruises. I guess DCL is hoping that people will look at 2014 prices and think what a bargain 2013 prices are.

I am glad I Booked Allure for March 2014 months ago.

Yes, for 2013 to bring the Magic back after the Med. I didn't realize they were doing a dry dock and while I understand why it needs to be done, just surprised they won't be bringing passengers back WB.
I think it's been mentioned on another thread that they won't have passengers on as they will still be doing some work on the voyage over much like they were with the Dream and Fantasy when they cam over from Europe.

Oh well, maybe for 2014. We really want to do a WBTA and next year probably wouldn't work for us anyway.

I wouldn't count on one for then either as they have not announced if they are taking a ship over to Europe yet. If they do the rumor is it will be the Wonder and it will have a long dry dock at the end of the season as well. As both ships are almost 15 years old. The Magic will be 15 next year and the wonder will be 14, it's the time in the life of a ship when they have a major overhaul.

I know I am probably being a nuisance, but has anyone who can see it looked at the Magic 3NT Miami 1/2/2014 Bahamas cruise? I am looking for a CAT9B for three adults, but any information on pricing for this cruise would be appreciated.

EDITED POST: I just found out that nothing new is available online today for anyone, and that the only way for gold and platinum to get information today is to call Disney. I am sorry for posting what I wrote. Believe me, I wouldn't ask someone to call Disney to check a price for me. I'll just sit back and wait till tomorrow (though not patiently) :-)

Here's something I found in my junk e-mail folder ... dated 12/4:

Please explain to me the logic behind sailing from PC and Miami when you only have 4 ships!

In the winter months, you can only sail warm climates. Most people wouldn't sail to others. I figure thats why all 4 are in FL for the first part of the year. In summer, the classics will most likely move away, as theoretically the caribbean is less of a seller in the summer. It is also the time of the year that places like Alaska are in 'season'. Many cruise lines ships winter in FL and move on to other ports in the summer and fall.

well that gives me some hope!:thumbsup2

we paid the summer rates once, last trip...now we're back to booking in Dec/Jan.;)

Anyone seen the price for Fantasy june 29-5 2adults 3 kids. cat 4b this is eastern cruise.. Or something close?

The placement of the ships and the pricing makes me think that Disney Parks is trying to keep the people near WDW. Those who are thinking a Disney Cruise but are priced out can go over to WDW and those who can afford the DCL prices can also go to WDW. :confused3

But the DCL prices I have seen quoted do not seem competitive to the family cruise market. And this is coming form on of DCL's biggest advocates... pirate:

Would love for them to so a sailing like the NCL Dawn! Plus, Tampa is closer to home and has more of what we like, vs Miami!

we booked the june 21, 2014 7 night western on the Fantasy, price with moving our dummy date is $5370.36 for 3 adults, cat 8B. Yes price is high, but this is the time we had planned to go since this past june, so we will make it work somehow!
