Saga of the Queen of Resort Changes~Two TRs in One *COMPLETED*

Bell services gave the girls their leis...which we hadn't gotten at check-in (Janet, I am not meant to have leis) I am glad Maddie remembered to ask

So Valet checks our bags....and we head back to Hawaii...because the girls decided they were hungry again

The Poly was decorated lovely, and it has a nice smell..which I have never noticed....

So Bree found a table by the window facing the GF and the castle..and the tree...there we has our second CL breakfast. The POG juice was delish!!! We decided other than than the juice, the offerings for breakfast are much better at RPR. But the Poly lounge cannot be beat for atmosphere!

You know Jeanette, we too have always been wanting 'more' at check in at the Poly. You pull up with such anticipation and then.....it kind of falls flat. But yet still the Poly ended up amazing anyway.

Very true! The Poly is SO beautiful on its own, so once you are walking the grounds you forget all about the check in...

Is this the norm? I don't frequent the Poly thread, so I wonder if it's a common theme. Sometimes I think I expect too much from Disney CMs, but then you get those CMs that WOW you, it spoils me

Our first stay at the Poly was 1982 and they were very nice back then...but over the years it changed and they became the least friendly of any resort. (we stayed at least 10 times - lost count with so many winter long weekends for many years).

It used to be said that Poly CM's were the friendliest because the guests checking in there were more laid back...I am guessing maybe it changed when guest expectations got so high, it was hard for any CM to live up to the hype of making every dream come true.

Still, guests are so excited arriving at any Disney Resort - I feel it is the job of front desk CM's to be super friendly and welcoming.

No BB, I received an email for Spring Break rates, and inquired. It was for Poly or WL, but I said it was too much, and we'd probably go back in Summer. There were 3 promotions, but the best one was a Labor Day one..only for GF, YC or BC...Christine I am paying for 2 rooms & tickets (since my AP expires 8/10/13) GF GV the same as rack rate for 1 room & tickets...I am going to need strength to leave the trip alone....(and I did warn my TA) WOW, I can't believe I used a TA. Would've loved to give sis Dani the booking...but I would make her nuts..I'll keep referring people her way instead

After enjoying some cocoa/coffee (for me) and a second breakfast...the girls were ready to hit MK, since I didn't buy park tickets..and we had ADRs for lunch at GF Cafe...it was time to go see some resorts!!

I told the girls we would save GF for last, so we took the monorail to CR

When we got to CR, HRH decided to remind me how she doesn't like CR or BLT So after listening to the diva rant (and officially crossing off BLT for the Summer trip...thanks Maddie ), I explained we needed to stop here to take the boat to WL...

"Why didn't you just drive Mommy?"

Good question...too late now...luckily attention was diverted by the Gingerbread for sale....

So since I didn't have a camera, I used my phone for pics...I did sent some pix messages out...but I deleted them since I needed space for more pics...

I will say the decorations at CR were nice but not very remarkable

Off to the boat to WL

Unfortunately it wasn't as warm as it was the previous day..and the bad mommy had the sweatshirts with our luggage..brrrrr

WL was decorated beautifully, it makes the Lodge feel small and cozy! The tree was beautiful!!!

Kate plopped into a chair, kicked up her feet, and ate her Gingerbread cookie from CR...

I didn't want to go back on the boat and freeze the girls out..so we took the bus to MK....for those who recall how long I waited with DH for a bus to MK in August...triple the wait time...we saw buses for each park, and DTD come and go twice Maddie said, MK HAS to be next...and she was right....back to MK and off to the GF

I just LOVE Maddie's "If I have to"!! WL is pretty darn charming when decorated for the holidays (even more so with 2 adorables in front of the tree), but guess not the right kind of charm for Bree and Maddie. I prefer the Villas to the Lodge (the Christmas decorations felt homier and it is cozier), but I LOVE the lake views that can be had from some of the Courtyard rooms in the Lodge. It is definitely a December resort for me....whereas Poly is an all year resort and GF is Spring/Summer...totally get the girls preferences.

Personally, I would go to CR and get the boat to WL, but then you know I'd go out of my for an MK resort water launch ride!

Aw...sweet Peanut...she is not to be ours after all. The Rescue organization is asking an adoption fee/donation of $325 and I would have to fly to Milwaukee to pick her up. I've been involved in rescue since 1998 and have never heard of such a high adoption fee for even an extra adorable toothless 8yr old on eye meds...not that she isn't worth every penny...usually rescues have a lower "donation" for older doglets, especially with any health issue. So, I was happy I didn't allow myself to get too attached.

In the meantime - I wrote to the rescue org where I adopted my precious Gracie and our sweet Rosie...well... a 6 yr old, 6 lb darling little boy just came in over the weekend! Cynthia has been calling him Gus-Gus because he is so cute and reminds her of Gus in Cinderella!! Could this be one of those meant to be moments???

We don't have luck with that WL to MK bus... and I never want to leave to go to the boat since I feel the bus would come the minute I walk away I wish I had more cooperation with the girls getting pics taken, but they are pretty darn cute aren't they
