I'd love to know how you feel about the new Les Mis movie coming out. Thoughts?

ETA: What do the non-Kevins think, too?

I'm obviously not Kevin, but I cannot wait to see it. I get goosebumps whenever I watch the trailer. It's always been one of my favorite musicals. I was lucky enough to see it on Broadway several times :goodvibes

I am also not Kevin, but I do have a Les Mis tattoo and a cat named Cosette

I think the movie looks great. The stuff we’ve seen in the previews is visually stunning, and the whole live singing thing is very cool.

I know! I think it looks beautiful! I like Anne Hathaway, but I'm holding back about the singing thing...has she had a singing role before?

Not a major role, but a quick Google search revealed that she started out at Paper Mill Playhouse in NJ, and performed in Once Upon a Mattress. Also, she "has sung in two concerts at Carnegie Hall as a member of her high school honors chorus."

I saw her on SNL last week, and she sang during the intro. She has a pretty decent voice, IMO.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the movie.

Also sang somebody to love by queen,in ella enchanted. She sings very well

What does your tattoo look like? Also (sorry this is a dumb question) but, what does live singing mean? Does that mean they all do their own singing?

1. It's Jean Valjean's prison number.

2. It means that the actors are singing directly ONTO the film, rather than lip syncing and recording elsewhere.

I'm really excited about it. It looks amazing! I am also thrilled about the live singing. Can't wait!

I am also not Kevin, but I play one on TV.

My wife loves this musical and she has me hooked as well. We are excited about it. We make it a point not to see movies in theaters due to cost and our media setup t home. But we will go to see this one.

The part I'm actually worried about is Russell Crow, I'm not sure he can pull off the singing.

I can't attest to the quality of his singing, but Russell Crowe does sing in a band. Hopefully he will do well.

To hear Russell sing watch robin hood.. he sings a lil bit of "row bully boys row" not too impressive by that standard

I just saw the commercial last night. :cool1: I'll be seeing this on the big screen for sure! Goosebumps.

I am super excited to see it. Mainly, because it looks to be brilliant, and also to see the reactions of the audience when they realize that Hugh Jackman can not only act, but he can sing very well as well (and dance and play the piano too).

I subbed keyboard in the first Broadway production for a little while way back when, and this movie looks thrilling! Don't know if they've reinstated the extra Gavroche music that was later on cut, but it looks like he did merit a quick clip in the trailer, so I hope so. I think the casting is brilliant. I worry about Crowe also, but who knows. Love the casting of SBC and HBC as the Thenardiers. It's a really awesome line up of great performers. Seems like it could really be mainstream huge, like the Chicago film was.
