Good Morning!

Prayers and pixie dust to all those in need.

Nan, gotta love mornings that start out like that!
Reddy, I hope Richard loses his grumpies!

Woke up blah today, too much running through my head I guess.

Today
call mom and talk about surgery, she thinks it will be sometime beginning of December
call a few people about questions from last night's meeting
hair appt at 10:30
kit pages for crop on Sunday

Hope everyone has a great day!

TGIF! Have been at the hospital since 0615...DH is the first colonoscopy patient of the morning. He should be out anytime now, yay! Only thing I have on my list today is grocery shopping. Will be home bound all weekend since its NASCAR weekend, the last race of the year, and we live 1.8 miles from the track. Traffic will be insane as usual. Hope to do some scrapping and I need to repot a couple of plants.

Hope everyone has a Happy Friday and a great weekend!

Becky

Good luck to DH today Becky!!!
Yes, I'd definitely be homebound this weekend... I know when the Indy 500 is in town or even the Brickyard, we avoid that area.. (about a 15 minute drive NE of us)... but we don't mind going the next town over and we can hear the scream of the engines.. and it's nice to see the cars "show cars" that stop off at the area grocery/department stores... Should be an interesting race considering the fight last week... (JG's parents live about a 10 minutes from us, he went and graduated from the rival HS.. )

Reddy, sorry Richard has the grumpies...
Cassey, hope the phone calls go smoothly!!!

I'm getting teary watching the Today show seeing the new American citizens taking their oath.. makes me wonder how DH's great grandparents felt when they took the oath... and especially my Grandma's parents when they became citizens... Something we take for granted I believe...

Okay, Lee Greenwood is gonna do me in..."God Bless the USA" came out when I was in the USN. I cry every time I hear it...what a great song!!

Ok Becky, I thought I was the only one who cried when Lee Greenwood sings that song.. I remember hearing it the day my brother told me he was deploying on the air carrier after 9/11... (he was also USN)...

Haha, oh no Nan! I'm a big sap when it comes to patriotic songs! DH is retired USN, spent his career on aircraft carriers as a Navy Nuke, I served 5 years as a broadcast journalist, my brother 10 years. It does make u think of our ancestors though...mine came thru Ellis from Ireland, Denmark and Sweden. Have u heard the song "Isle of Hope" by the Irish Tenors? Get some tissue first!

Off to look up that song...

My Great-Grandparents were both from Ireland and come through Ellis Island.. I'm only the 3rd generation in the US based of Grandma's side..

Good Moring and Happy Friday to all!
so jelly that you are both sooo close to NSCAR tracks!! big race fans here - I've been to Daytona once in my teens and to NHIS once as an adult..

I am working - shhhh -- till 2:45 then off

make list for what to do over vacation (the week after thanksgiving) to get ready for Christmas

hmmm I had kin that came over on the Mayflower
all of mine been here for along time
Kin fought at the Alamo - direct line that fought at the battle that won TX their indepenance (my spelling is bad & I can't think how to spell it - really sad)
I"m thinking the newest person coming over was 15 generations ago

but I did know a guy in HS that became a citzen in HS - he showed us the test he had to pass - alot harder than what we had to pass for history class

TGIF everyone!!!!

Only 6 days 'til Sarah is home for Thanksgiving :) She's taking Rachel to celebrate getting into her dream school I can't wait to have everyone here together :woohoo:

Nan and Becky--I love both of those songs! DH was in the Navy too...God Bless the USA always makes me cry :upsidedow
Cassey good luck with the phone calls and have fun at your hair appt :thumbsup2
Reddy hope the grumpies go away!

:welcome: I've seen you popping in over this week... please feel free to jump right in!!! We love having new guests in our cozy little corner of the boards!

Reddy, we had some family on Mom's side that came over with Lord Baltimore... so I'm upteen dozen generations in on her side.... Heck, I have some family members on her side.. that say make you go....:sad2::confused3:rolleyes1:scared::crazy2::scratchin popcorn:::eek::idea:

Makes me want to pull the genealogy back out this winter... Mom keeps calling me discovering things on the net... that I had already found, proved and told her about (I just don't post them on the net).... But wow mom.. great find!

Cheryl, isn't it the best thing to have the kids home!!!! I love hearing about things going on at school....but to see my kids all together laughing, fighting, playing games, and even the hugs is amazing...

Today is supposedly "national kiss a soccer player" day.... so I immediately nailed my 2 soccer players here at home...and sent a kissing face to DD at school... she started in on her brothers this morning.. sending various photos of kissy lips....
