Any rumor when 2014 dates come out?

With other cruise lines you pretty much know they will have ships in Alaska in the summer, ship in Europe, ship in New York, etc, but with DCL right now who knows where the Magic and Wonder go. There is also, now ,becoming an issue that if it does not sell well it will be changed.

I have an NCL cruise booked for next fall, but if DCL came out with something new and interesting I would cancel. I plan on using airline points for the flight and that window is coming soon, so once flight is booked I will be committed to the NCL cruise.

Unless they have changed the policy in the last 3 weeks or so, you do not have to make up the difference to 20% if you change a booking you made onboard ship. I have made several changes to the the bookings I have that I made onboard ship and not added any additional deposit except for a difference in the fare.

It is often the case that DCL castmembers who take your calls on the phone don't know everything they need to know about what they tell you. I have gotten the most ridiculous answers from them on occasion, and eventually after several phone calls and speaking to managers, finally gotten a straight story. If you get something from them you question, call back and ask someone else. If you need to verify, ask for a manager.

So do you think that will apply to this special? If i book one at 10 percent deposit then when the 2014 comes out switch it to that? and I will still get the 10 percent discount and pay the extra if the cruise is more? or do u think id have to pay 20 percent? For me if i have to pay 20 there is no sense in doing all that changing just wait for the 2014 date to be released...but the 10 percent could be really helpful if they are released around the holidays!

I just called to book for 2013. After everything was done I asked when the 2014 dates are coming out. The guy on the phone said he honestly had no idea and they don't get any information until the day before. He then said maybe the end of this month or end of next month. They really don't know I guess. Now I don't feel sooooo bad. :(

I asked my TA and she said the reduced deposit travels if you change to a different booking.

Hmm....This makes me want to go ahead and book one or two if that's true. I wonder if she knows that or if she's assuming that? Has Disney ever done this before (besides onboard bookings).

I've never known her to tell me something unless she's absolutely sure. She checks stuff out before telling me if she doesn't know.

Awesome. I think I may book me a cruise or two then as we like to do back 2 backs I think after doing one this summer. I have 2 dummies reserved, but I'm thinking of using them for Dec 2013 for real, but would like to be able to reserve something for 2014 as soon as it's released......Off to look at prices... :thumbsup2

These are just 10% off the deposit and not 10% off the cruise fare like you get for an OBB, right?

That's correct. You only get a reduced deposit.

Save 50% on the deposit!

Book any itinerary with any sailing date by 12/16/12 and only pay a 10% deposit! After 12/16/12, the deposit amount will go back to 20%.

I hope they post the 2014 dates prior to 12/16/12 so i can take advantage of this offer!!

Does this include concierge level? Hmmmm.......

Let me know if you book one..So far i have called twice and two different people told me although my deposit will transfer when the 2014 rates come out...I will be required to make up the difference so that it is 20 percent down. (if the 2014 rates come out after 12/16 after the special)

Well I think it is costing them business. I have been waiting around for months to see what cruises are available in January 2014. RCI and Princess have had their 2014 cruises out for months. Well I got tired of waiting for DCL, so started looking at the RCI cruises and found the exact cruise I'd like to take on the Independence of the Seas. I haven't booked it yet, thinking I would give DCL a chance to see what they have but because of the delay I found the RCI cruise and am 90% sure we will book it.

X2: Celebrity Reflection April 2014 Eastern Carib
We'll be willing to come back to DCL for that date only if the itinerary's a killer.

I called DCL and they said you are able to book at 10 percent deposit now ,then change it to a 2014 date once they come out, but at that time you would have to make up the difference to 20 percent down. They also said the same goes for when you book onboard and then change a dummy date cruise??? Is that true? I thought if you booked a dummy cruise onboard then changed it u still kept the 10 percent down???

We have always maintained the discount and the reduced deposit when moving our OBB.

It would be nice if the dates come out before the 10% deposit promo ends...I don't know about you guys but a little extra cash to have during the holiday season is always nice! I am constantly checking for these dates, I have my TA on alert, checking forum boards, blogs, and of course the dcl website. :cool1:

Is there something about the 10% deposit and $25 stateroom credit for online booking up on the DCL website? I'm not finding it.

I saw mention of it on another site, but that mentions that the $25 online booking credit is only for new bookings by 12/16/12 for itineraries through 12/31/2013. The 10% deposit is listed as new bookings made by 12/12/12 for any DCL cruise.

It doesn't seem to be listed on the site yet but if you go through the motions of booking a cruise, you will see that it applies the " E booking OBC offer".

And since this offer is only good for 2013 dates right now, unless they extend it, this promotion is not valid for 2014 cruises or for previously booked cruises. You need to book a brand new cruise by December 16th, 2012 that sails from now until December 31st,2013 to qualify. (Just like you said ;))

Come on 2014 dates! :thumbsup2

I keep hearing about people checking out other cruise lines due to the perceived delay in releasing 2014 dates.... I wonder how many people will be going with these alternatives...
