Will Fantasy make it back?

My friend, a crew member on the fantasy, just called and said it seemed like they came close to capsizing multiple times tonight. He seemed very worried and is really hoping they can dock tomorrow. Says the ship is getting pounded.

If it is this bad, why on earth are they there??? I understand this is a business and try to make port so that the next cruise can get underway, but this is not safe. THAT IS SO SCARY. I feel so bad for everyone on board. :sad2:

It's bad but we aren't close to capsizing. Waves are 20+ feet. Rocking and rolling!

Thanks for clarifying that! We have confidence the captain would have avoided that situation entirely. Stay safe! Hope it calms down soon!

It's interesting to be perfectly honest. The waves are amazing. I'm glad it happened at the end of the trip rather than the beginning or I'd be puking my guts out. But I feel fine. I'm sure there are people freaking out and to be fair, it is pretty bad now but aside from dropping us off in Miami or delaying a day, there aren't a ton of options. Our servers were telling us about when it got stuck in CC for a day and they started running out of food. I'd rather take a beating for 12 hours and make it into port. Some, I'm sure, will disagree. Biggest bummer was missing CC. Wish the forecast was such we could have gone the first day or 2 of cruise but hindsight....

Anyway, did all the normal stuff today and ship board life goes on. Hopefully we'll port tomorrow and have a good story to tell.

The very first Wonder cruise I went on had seas like that. It was not so much fun. During dinner we would see sky and sea, sky and sea, throughout the whole meal. I actually took meds and went to bed right after. They ran out of all sea sickness medicines, bands, etc. in the gift shop. However, amazingly, the show went on in the Walt Disney Theater. I have no idea how the performers made it through that performance.

Hugs for those onboard and those boarding tomorrow.

The Monarch of the Seas has made it into port this morning, so it is definitely possible for the Fantasy to do so as delayed as she may be. I've always wanted to be on the ships during rough seas just to see what it is like(I want to work onboard and wonder if I can handle the seas when they are not calm) but I hope everyone stays safe! pirate:

Monarch of the Seas has been in port since 3 yesterday afternoon, when the water was alot calmer.

My main point is that the port is not closed. I didn't know when the monarch got in, just that she is there. I do believe that the Fantasy can get in port today, delayed as she may be.

We were on for hurricane Hannah in 2008. Yeah, we missed our second stop at CC but it actually wasn't bad. I got some great photos of the water sloshing (levitating) out of the pools, lol.
