Oh, Just A Few GALLONS of Pixie Dust! - A July/August 2012 TR

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TWIN!!! I am going to pretend like it is also my 24th birthday today, even though I’m actually going to be 26 in less than six months. BUT WE’RE TWINS SO WE MUST HAVE THE SAME BIRTHDAY. Duh.

I hope you have the most perfect day. Just think, next year at this time we will have already been on our magical twin-cation!

Every time I see a picture of your view I die a little. But not in a bad way. In a good way, like “Marissa got to see that every morning when she woke up. I’m so happy for her!” *happy die*

YAY FREE FOOD. Seriously, best "I'm sorry" ever. You go, Disney.

No judgement. I bought a squirt bottle fan on my Disneymoon, and I used that thing constantly. The only reason I don’t use it anymore is because I sat on it and broke it. Yep, you read that correctly. I SAT ON IT.

I’m highly jealous of your feeding giraffes story, so I’m going to try to overcompensate for my feelings of inferiority by telling you that I once RODE AN ELEPHANT. I kid you not. They had one at the fair, and I got on that thing’s back. In retrospect, it probably wasn’t a very wise choice, but I was thirteen and my judgment wasn’t what it is today. Anyway, the elephant had really dry skin and when I was on it’s back it started getting mad and the handler kind of panicked a little so naturally I freaked out. Not my finest moment, but still. I rode an elephant.

DORKY TEENAGE SIMBA. I love it! I always loled at his lion mullet at that part. I wish they would've sneakily put braces on his teeth or something.

Okay I can’t handle the removal of Oreo bon bons from Cape May AND the potential removal of FotLK. STOP MESSING WITH MY LIFE, DISNEY.

Hahahahaha, that's like four zebra butts in a row. That's awesome.

Ducks are absolutely the cutest birds, hand down. Who doesn't love a duck?!

Wow, you saw the lion in all his glory for real! Was he chatting? It totally looks like he was saying something.

"Very Nice"

"Thanks!" (Sorry, that's my response to your singing Pumbaa's line).

"Been spending most our lives living in a gorilla's paradise!"

I tend not to believe any of the rumors about WDW until they are absolutely confirmed by WDW. Because they change their plans fairly often.

Happy Birthday!! :)

So during my last trip in April, I saw the FOTLK for the very first time.....and I fell in love. I will be devastated if they take that away. The Lion King was thee movie of my childhood. Me and my younger brother watched it soooo much and seeing it come to life in FOTLK was amazing. I really hope its just a rumor or if they do take it away from Camp Minnie-Mickey, lets pray and hope they just move it somewhere else :) Avatar Land has absolutely zero appeal to me so I will be very upset if that is really their plan.....ugh. It upsets me just writing about it lol.

And I do have to say I am jealous that your zoo has giraffes that you can feed. Those are one of my favorite animals!!

Well I hope you have had a great birthday and have many more to come! As always I can't wait to read more of your TR :)

What perfect timing! I finally caught up, and it's your birthday!!!! I have absolutely loved both of your TR's, they have been great! The two of us are extremely alike when it comes to certain things!!! I try to stop lurking and actually join in now!!

I just wanted to tell you that I am thoroughly enjoying your TR! I love that you are a big fan of random dancing and get choked up at all the same things I do! I hope that you have an amazing birthday!:cake:

Thank you so much! Hahah, random dancing is the best kind of dancing there is!!! I am so glad you're enjoying the TR, I really appreciate you reading and commenting!

And thank you so much! It was great!

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday Dear Marissa
Happy Birthday to you.

I completely agree with you, your family should have complete set of picture puzzles from Disney World.

I did hear the rumor too about FOTLK closing January 2013. I hope it is after our trip. But will be sad when it leaves, it is one of our family favorites.

Awww, thank you so much!!

Right? Could you maybe tell my parents that...? Hahahah.

I just really hope that the rumor stays a RUMOR. Ugh, I can't even bare the thought.

:flower1::daisy: HAPPY BIRTHDAY :flower1::daisy:

Disney has got to stop closing things before I get the chance to see them! Snow White, Test Track (yes, I know it's coming back), they changed Country Bears! Good thing I will get to see the Festival of the Lion King! You know, cus it's all about me! :p:rotfl:

Thank you!!!

Oh no! You never got to see Snow White or the original Test Track? That's sad! I'm glad you get to see the Lion King, but I really hope that EVERYONE does because IT NEEDS TO STAY FOREVER!!! Ahem...

Happy birthday!

Hmm... I don't know how to break this to you, but (brace yourself)- those ostrich eggs are not real. I heard once that they stick them there so that the ostriches stay put and don't go too far away. If it makes you feel any better, apparently they fool the ostriches too! :)

Awesome you saw a lion! I've only seen him up and moving around once, and I've been on lots of safaris. You're a lucky lady!

I also heard they might close FotLK, but then I heard that they might just close it temporarily and move it somewhere else, then I heard that nothing is going to change, so, who knows? I hope it doesn't go anywhere either, its a wonderful show!

Thanks!!

Oh my gosh... HAHAHA. Oh wow, I feel dumb now.

I was excited! He seemed to be so close by too! It was really amazing!

OOOH! I like that last option! Please please PLEASE let nothing change! Please Disney, I beg of you.

I just wanted to pop in and say

:bday:

I hope it's completely wonderful!

Also, just gotta say again how much I adore your TRs. When my hubby and I were at AK we didn't do the Safari and I was a little bummed. Now I really am bummed because the only reason I was ok with it was because of the "Little Red" story line. I've never really been crazy about it. It was kind of pointless. I totally agree that you're on a freaking safari and that's all you need. :sad2:

Thank you so much!! It was really great!

You are just too kind! Thank you for always saying such nice things! I agree, that Little Red thing was just odd to me. I mean, I love elephants, and baby elephants, and even the fake elephants on the Jungle Cruise... but it just felt so out of place compared to the real, live animals. Well, hopefully next time you go you can do it! By then they'll have all the zebras!

Hi! Surprise I'm alive! haha.

Ok I am all caught up.

Ohana is so amazing isn't it! Love that place!!

Loved all your pictures of Spaceship Earth! I don't know if its possible to not take a good picture of it.

Sounds like you guys had a fabulous day at Animal Kingdom!! I will have to give the safari another chance next time. I didn't like to old set up for it, but maybe with the change you described I would appreciate it more. I will be SO MAD if FOTL goes away. Especially for something Avatar? What the heck. It was good but not that good.

I LOVE SITTING IN THE LION SECTION!!! RAWR! haha!

HI!! Hahha thank God.

Seriously the best meal of the trip! I loved it so stinking much.

Thanks! Well believe me, there are a LOT more coming! Hahah, I got a little carried away...

We really did, and it's not over yet! :thumbsup2

Yeah, definitely give the safari another chance! OH I KNOW. I don't see how they could ever justify getting rid of it, it's such a popular show! I honestly didn't like Avatar so I'm not even a tiny bit excited about this 'land.' Sigh, Disney problems...

Agreed. Best section EVER.

Okay, those cheetahs are not blurry...they are just camouflaged really well:thumbsup2. You've got to get better at this "story and I'm stickin' to it" thing.:lmao:

I'm a little offended by the ranking at FOTLK. I mean, we've seen it once, and we were GIRAFFES.

WHAT DOES THAT SAY ABOUT US!?!?!?!?!:sad2:

Yes. That is a good point. OR... they were moving so fast because they are cheetahs. Nope. Yours is better.

Hahah I mean, I think it says that you really like to "BAAAAAH!" Nothing wrong with that!!

I have been enjoying your TR.

From what I have read on another site is that FOTLK will be closing temporarily so that it can be relocated to another spot in AK. The move will take about 6 months. Then it will reopen in it's new location while the Camp Minnie Mickey area gets prepared for if Avatarland does begin construction.

Thanks!

Well, if that's true, then that isn't terrible. I would be sad to miss it on any trip, but as long as it's not gone forever, it's okay. Thanks for letting me know!

Um, I was so far behind and got all caught up tonight, but can't possibly remember everything I wanted to say. So let's just start with the most important thing first.

I am loving Once this season!!!! Love it! I hope we get to see more of Lancelot this season and that Cora was lying, because I liked him. And can we just stop and talk about how delicious Hook looks? ;) swoon. Sex-ay. And I love how the characters are a combo of their Fairytale self and Storybrooke self. Does this mean Ruby still turns into a werewolf? And who the heck is Dr. Whale?

I digress. Your view from your hotel room really was Ah-May-Zing! :thumbsup2 I love that you could see the Beast's castle from there too!

Oh, and happy birthday! Have a fabulous weekend! We will be celebrating my little girl's bday too (she turned 5 on Tuesday :sad1:) so I will pretend that her party is also your party and eat cupcakes for you. :yay:

Oh, I was bummed that the new Cinderella DVD came out and that I already have it on dvd since the new one has the Tangled short on it. Seriously considered buying it again just to have the Tangled short.

Oh, and wanted to mention, that I have ridden on an elephant before!

I know that there was so much more I was going to comment on, and now that's it's so early, (and I've been awake for almost 24 hours now), I'm too delirious to remember. Can't wait to go home and go to sleep.

Happy happy birthday!

YAY for getting caught up!! :yay:

ME TOO. It's so great! Oh I know! I was sad when she said she'd... done away with him, because I liked him too. Omg I can't wait to watch last night's episode (haven't seen it yet) because YES HOOK. AND I agree with you on that too! Haha who knows? That'd be freaky. Who would she eat? I've been wondering who Dr. Whale was supposed to be since last season! I mean, whale... I thought he would be Monstro the whale or something, but that would be weird. Hahah, basically I have no idea! I can't wait to find out!

That view... it just never gets old! It's amazing. I felt like I was always in the Magic Kingdom because I could see it!

Ahh thank you! I appreciate you eating cupcakes for me! Hahahh. Wait... FIVE? WHEN did that happen? That's crazy! I hope she had a great birthday too!

ME TOO! I got it when it came out... 7 years ago, I guess? It was a birthday gift actually, those DVDs always come out around my birthday which is GREAT. But yeah, I love Tangled Ever After! It stinks that you can't buy it on iTunes or something! I totally would!

WHAT?!?!?! Are you serious? That's amazing!!

That's totally okay! Thanks for catching up and commenting, I always enjoy hearing from you!

Thank you so much!!!

I hope you have a lovely birthday!!

Love, love the safari!! I do feel a little like we are the ones on display for the animals. LOL

I actually feel a but creeped out by the gorillas. The just have such human eyes and seem to look right into your mind. I wonder what they are thinking.

I think, but not sure, but I think I heard avatar has been put on hold. Like permeant hold. One could only hope.

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

Thank you!! I really did!

It's so fun. Haha, good point! They're the ones that live there, we're the ones that come in and make a scene. HAHA.

THEY DO. It's so crazy. It was definitely a little creepy, because it seemed like he was just trying to figure me out. It was really cool too though. He loves me. ;)

That would be FANTASTIC. There are so many great things they could do with Animal Kingdom that don't have ANYTHING to do with Avatar. Like... the Beastly Kingdom!!! THAT would be cool.

I have heard the same information as a few others, that Festival of the Lion King will close temporarily and then be moved to a new spot. I guess in about two years, we can look back on all of the rumors and speculations and see what really was in the works.

I'm so glad you did the dirty deed of telling her about the ostrich eggs.
I was stressing in my mind as I read, wondering to tell or not to tell, and then I saw your post.

Saved!

I wouldn't mind that. As long as it's not closed forever, I'll be okay!!

I honestly feel so silly now. It's okay though, I can take it. :rotfl: Thanks for being honest! I'll probably edit that out but goodness, I could have sworn that our safari driver said they were real! Maybe I just chose to hear that.

Happy Birthday to you! Hope you have a Happy Birthday!

Also- I'm going to take a guess and say Friends... cuz I don't know anything else that it could be.

Thank you so much! I did!

OH! Hahah actually no, not a Friends reference! It's actually a reference to Lizzie McGuire HAHA.

HATE THE SLOGAN. HATE HATE HATE HATE.

Happy Belated! ;-)

Loving the pictures. DH wants to see Fotlk.

I really don't like it either. The idea is great though!

Thank you! Hahha I see what you did there. :)

Thank you!! Listen, if I had to recommend ONE show in Disney, it would be Festival of the Lion King, hands down. In other words... YOU MUST GO SEE IT!!!! ::yes::

I know I'm a few hours early, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I always take pictures of ducks on my vacations! They're everywhere and they're cute! What's not to love?

HOLIDAY ARMADILLO! I was watching TOW The Holiday Armadillo when I found out that Bin Laden had been killed. And now whenever I hear someone mention that episode, that's the first thing I think of. :upsidedow

Awww! Teen lion! I feel like that would be a show on the CW or something, maybe about a teenager who sometimes turns into a lion? Yeah, I went there.

I loooooooove Festival of the Lion King! Every time I've seen it, I've been in the warthog section. I've gotten really good at the snorting thing. I really hope that it's just moved and not removed. I'm not a fan of Avatar, and if one of my favorite shows is removed because of it, I will not be a happy camper!

That's totally okay, since when I'm currently reading this my birthday is in the past! Hahah but thank you!!!

Exactly! EVERYTHING is to love!

Haha uhhh... that is interesting! What an odd memory, huh?

BAHAHAH that would be a show on the CW... in fact it probably is!

ME TOO! Oh, well hey, at least you're embracing the snorting. :thumbsup2 I'm not an Avatar fan either, at all. I feel the exact same way. There is no way they can justify that.

you crack me up.
happy birthday!

Well thanks!

Thank you so much!!

Great update!

I was just on the safari today in fact, it was awesome as usual.

I love the reference to The Holiday Armadillo lol

Thank you!

WHAT? You're at Disney right now? That is AWESOME! I hope you're having a magical time!

Hahha thanks! Good gosh I love Friends.

Happy Birthday!! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Tree of death! Gorilla's Paradise! RICOLAAAAAA! I'm clearly dying over here!

I love FOTLK soooo much too! It's such a cool show! I hope they never get rid of it either.

Thank you dear!!

You flatter me hahah! Thank you for thinking I'm funny!

ME TOO! It's the best ever. It would be so stupid of them to get rid of it!

Okay, little behind but that's okay! I'm here now and I'm catching up finally!

Your view really was the best. Can I just go be there right now?

MICKEY WAFFLEEEEE! Ugh, I want one. They're really the best. And yes, Disney bacon is a weebit sad. I mean, I'll eat it but it's just not very tasty.

That's awesome that you guys got extra free dining credits! Talk about awesome pixie dust! I can't wait to see where you guys are going to use that credits.

ANIMAL KINGDOM! God, I love the themeing in that park. I mean, each area is just SO well done!

It's going to be weird when they change the slogan. I mean, it's just weird to not sing, "LIVIN' IT UP! LOVE THAT FEEEL-AAAANGGGG, LIVIN' IT UP, LET THE MEMORIES BEGIN!" I'm guessing it'll be different when we go in January. Aw, kind of sad.

I LOVE the puzzle idea! I'm obsessed with puzzles, so this is awesome. And I love your face on the puzzle piece. :rotfl:

That shot of the giraffe with his tongue out is fantastic! Little guy was just hungry, that's all, hahaha.

Our zoo has a giraffe-feeding thing, too! I always mean to do it but the line is super long and then I just say forget it. One of these days I'll do it!

Go here. You can thank me later. http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/the-7-best-pictures-of-a-baby-elephant-playing-at

AW I just love ducks! Disney ducks are truly the best.

HAHAHA I love the holiday armadillo! He is just dressed up for Halloween, a few months early, clearly.

Aww, that lion is so beautiful! I love lions and when you get to see them on the safari it's such a treat!

I'm glad they're ditching that whole storyline, too. It just seemed out of place for the safari.

I love that you named the gorilla Bart, hahaha. Gorillas are so cool. It's like if you watch them, they're SO similar to humans it's kind of crazy. I love watching them at our zoo.

YAY for FoTLK! I know how much you adore that show, so I hope it doesn't shut down! I just feel like it's too popular to ever close down, so fingers crossed it stays open, regardless of their plans for this stupid Avatarland (which I wish they'd just totally get rid of and do something else way more awesome).

WOO, I'm all caught up again!

NO, it's not okay... sorry. Juuust kidding. I'm too funny for my own good.

RIGHT? The best EVER. If you go, can I go with you?

YAY. They're too yummy. I can't even eat it. I always give it a chance with one bite, but then I remember that it was a bad idea to take said bite, and I don't eat the rest.

I know! Disney just loves us. ;) But really, we were so appreciative!

Animal Kingdom is just so underrated! I'm in love!

I totally agree. It just doesn't quite seem to fit... the idea behind the name is genius though, I must say! Yeah, I guess it will be! Well... will it be? Who knows? It might not change right away.

Isn't it awesome?!?! I love it too! Hahah it makes me laugh so much.

Thank you!! Hahha clearly!

Oh cool! I love when zoos do that! At our zoo it's kinda just a walk up thing. There are a bunch of giraffes and you buy some food at the zoo entrance and you can just go up to the giraffes and they'll eat out of your hand. You can feed camels too! But yeah, you should do it someday!

BAHAHAHA... no ma'am, I will thank you RIGHT NOW! That was insanely awesome and adorable!!! AHHH love it love it love it!

Ducks are the cutest! Hahah they are indeed! What would that guy be called in your TR? Safari wannabe duck?

ME TOO! Yeah, he's ALWAYS ready!!

Lions are so amazing. Last time we did the safari the lions were sleeping out of sight, so it was extra awesome to see them this time!

Haah yeah, it was. It's not like there is so much we can do about poachers anyway. It's sad and I hate them, and I would stop them if I could... but it's just one of those things.

Thank you! Bart misses me. They are eerily similar to humans. It's so odd, but cool at the same time.

Aw thanks! I hope not either. I agree, it is way too popular, it wouldn't be a good idea AT ALL. Seriously though, can a bunch of DISers rally together and try to get them to do Beastly Kingdom instead??? Because I mean, COME ON. That would be amazing.

YAY! I'm glad!

Ok so I have no I have no idea how I manage to keep missing updates on everyone's TRs but I'm here and I'm commenting!

I love the safari, it's actually amazing! Especially when you see so many animals, sometimes the Orlando weather doesn't like to cooperate though!

Love giraffes! I'm so jealous you got to feed them! I want to do that! Cracks me up how the giraffe knows how to get food by standing in the middle of the road! Hahaha.

Aww baby elephant, cute!

Hahaha the Holiday Armidillo, love that episode of Friends far too much! I just love how Ross says it, far too funny!

Aww I hope you and X are happy together, I think he was the one I saw sleeping in the weirdest position on my trip!

Yay the Lion King :) ooh apparently they are advertising for new performers for it so hopefully that means it's not going anywhere!

Ps, happy birthday! I know I said it on twitter, but I'm saying it again :)

Hhaha that's totally okay! It happens! I update kind of a lot, so I understand getting behind!

It is definitely amazing! Hahah yeah, that's true. Luckily the cool rain made it a little easier to manage that day!

Isn't that hilarious! I love it. He's a genius. Aww well if you ever come to Virginia while you're in the States, I'll take you to feed the giraffes!

PRECIOUS!

Hhaha YES. I just love Ross too much. He's hilarious.

Oh thank you, we really are. He doesn't really call enough though. :rotfl:

OH REALLY? That's great! YAY YAY YAY!!

Aw thank you girl! I really appreciate it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!pixiedust:party:

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

AHHH THANK YOU, TWIN! You are the best! Hahha that's okay, listen, we're fraternal twins... twice removed (from the uterus? That was a weird thing to say) so it's normal for us to not have the same birthday. :lmao:

Thank you! I had such a great day! Olive Garden breadsticks were involved so, automatic win. YES! Do you know how excited that thought makes me? SO excited. I seriously can't wait and I'll be obsessing over it for the next 11 and 1/2 months. Hope you're ready. ;)

Aww, well you can now happily come back to life because you're so nice. Thanks for happily dying on behalf of my view!

I know! We weren't even mad about our room keys not working because they explained to us how new the system was. They just go above and beyond and it's incredible!

OH NO! Well don't worry, I keep mine very high up and my butt doesn't reach that high up. Mine is still in tact. I don't know how hot it is in October, but I always come prepared.

YOU DID??? AHHHH that's amazing! I mean... the story could use some work. It's okay though, teenage angst and all that. But listen, come to Virginia and we'll go feed some giraffes.

That would have been AMAZING. We'll just pretend that there were indeed braces on his teenage lion teeth!

Seriously though. WAIT... they got rid of the Oreo bon bons? What on EARTH? Now I have no reason to go there... I can't just eat ROLLS. (Or can I...?)

Hahahahaha, that's like four zebra butts in a row. That's awesome.

I tend not to believe any of the rumors about WDW until they are absolutely confirmed by WDW. Because they change their plans fairly often.

Right? I thought it was funny that NONE of them wanted to show their faces.

I don't even know! Ducks are always the best. (Donald, anyone?)

Hhaha I think he was making some kind of noise. It wasn't a roar or anything loud enough to make the antelopes stampede, but it was a noise nonetheless.

YES! :lmao:

You understand me!

I try not to either, but if there is ANY truth to that rumor I will not be happy. NOT AT ALL.

Happy Birthday!! :)

So during my last trip in April, I saw the FOTLK for the very first time.....and I fell in love. I will be devastated if they take that away. The Lion King was thee movie of my childhood. Well I hope you have had a great birthday and have many more to come! As always I can't wait to read more of your TR :)

Thank you!!!

ME TOO. It's an absolute MUST do for me and I just think I'd feel incomplete if I left Animal Kingdom without seeing it! Hahaha, dramatic, but true. Avatar doesn't appeal to me at all either, I just didn't like that movie. Don't worry, I totally get it!

Hahh aww, maybe someday you'll get to! They're one of my favorites too!

Aww thank you again! You're so sweet.

What perfect timing! I finally caught up, and it's your birthday!!!! I have absolutely loved both of your TR's, they have been great! The two of us are extremely alike when it comes to certain things!!! I try to stop lurking and actually join in now!!

Welcome!!! I'm so glad to have you here, and thank you so much for the birthday wishes!!!

I'm so glad you enjoyed my TRs and it's awesome that we seem to have a lot in common. That's always fun!

Yeah! Please feel free to post whenever you want, I love it! Thanks so much for joining in!!!

Hey! So first off, let me say that your TR never ceases to crack me up. Like seriously, thank you for that. Now on to some comments:

1) I love me some Spaceship Earth and Living With The Land! And, I've been stuck on Spaceship Earth before in that same position! I've never tried Living With The Land at night but I bet it was cool in the green house. Sucks to be stuck with the lady yelling in Spanish the whole time though. I mean, hello? Doesn't she know anything about the awesomeness that is any Disney attraction? Your phone conversation can wait.

2) Gotta love a Mickey waffle :) no trip is complete without it.

3) I haven't been on a safari since my first time in 2003 but I've kind of been wanting to go again. Glad to hear that they got rid of the Little Red story cuz I agree, it was really weird to have a fake elephant at the end.

4) I hope those rumors are not true! One of my Cast Member insiders ;) told me that the whole "Avatar Land" thing is on hold for like forever now. They said there's some issue about how James Cameron got the story of Avatar. Like, if he came up with it himself or stole it from someone. So, hopefully we won't have to worry about that coming for a while!

:bday:HAPPY BIRTHDAY!:cake:

Ok I know I'm late, but better late than never!

AHHH I can't believe you saw the Holiday Armadillo on the safari, what's he doing in Disney? :crazy2:

Hahaha, aww, that poor awkward lion, he really does look like Simba during Hakuna Matata! Aww I just want to pet him, I feel bad that he's not beautiful and majestic yet! :simba:

I cannot even comprehend the whole "FOTLK might close" rumor. It's just absurd to me. So I'm going to ignore it and pretend it's not happening. :rolleyes1 Lalala. There.

I mean, it's SUCH a good show! How could they even think of getting rid of it? I really wish they'd do that Beastly Kingdom thing that was originally supposed to be in AK. Not stupid Avatarland. Bleh. :rotfl2:

3) I haven't been on a safari since my first time in 2003 but I've kind of been wanting to go again. Glad to hear that they got rid of the Little Red story cuz I agree, it was really weird to have a fake elephant at the end.

4) I hope those rumors are not true! One of my Cast Member insiders ;) told me that the whole "Avatar Land" thing is on hold for like forever now. They said there's some issue about how James Cameron got the story of Avatar. Like, if he came up with it himself or stole it from someone. So, hopefully we won't have to worry about that coming for a while!

HI. Well first off let me say THANKS GIRL! And you're welcome! And aren't you glad you have such a funny friend? :lmao: Okay, I'll stop.

Hahah really? That's awesome. Everyone keeps telling me they got stuck on SE but it's never happened to me before so I had no idea! But really, I love it so much too! I never got to ride it in December so I was missing it! Next trip we should have a SE marathon. Just ride it over and over. I've got big plans you see. We should skype sometime and talk about it. Because I just remembered I had skype.

It seriously was so annoying! She was SO loud. You know what's funny about that? The first time I ever rode Living with the Land, your lovely sister Kristen was on the phone talking about some dude's birthday party. HAHAH, it clearly couldn't wait. I love her though so it's okay.

I agree! You can't go to Disney without eating at least ONE item of Mickey-shaped food.

Yeah, it was SUPER weird and I don't miss it. Yeah, even though I love animals, it's just not a must-do for me EVERY trip, especially since whenever we've gone together we've only had limited time at Animal Kingdom. But we should totally do it whenever we go back!

I hope not either! I haven't heard about it lately though, so that's good. It's just that the source I read it from just seemed SO sure about it, and it kinda made me mad... but I'm hopeful!!! Hahah seriously? You've got to report back to me when Jenelle tells you stuff like this! I have to be in the know, ya know?

Bleh. :rotfl2:

Aww thank you!!! That's totally okay!

Hahah I don't know! I was so shocked but excited to see him! :lmao:

Aw, he's still cute though! I bet by the time I get back he'll be a full grown studly lion.

I CAN'T EITHER. It's honestly one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. So I'll pretend with you! OMG YES. I was telling a couple other people that I would LOVE them to do Beastly Kingdom! I think it would make so much more sense! There's no need to waste space on some weird movie about creepy tall blue people that chant a lot.

The One With A Swingin' Pizzafari!

August 1, 2012

After we watched the most magical show EVER, we headed over to Asia. My mom really wanted us to be able to ride Kali River Rapids, but we knew the standby line would be way too long, so we went and got fastpasses!

We backtracked to the Tree of Life to do one of my favorite attractions, not just at Animal Kingdom, but at Disney in general...

SDC13223.jpg

Yeah. I'm completely serious.

As a person who literally despises and fears all bugs, I have a strange obsession with this attraction. And when I say all bugs, I'm not joking. Butterflies are included in this. They get too close for comfort. Yet, I love this attraction... way too much.

The netting prevented any loose items from falling on us. Thank goodness.

Lets' just talk about how these 3D glasses are the best things to ever exist!

312963_825032177059_1319449697_n.jpg

We're bugs.

My whole family finds this attraction hilarious! Maybe it's the fact that there is an insect chorus performing Broadway tunes, maybe it's the bug puns, maybe it's the audience reactions, maybe it's just the fact that I love A Bugs Life... OR maybe it's ALL of those reasons. I just think this attraction is perfect. I REALLY cannot explain why. It just makes me oddly happy.

I hope none of you are allergic to acid...

It's tough to be a bug, yall.

I guess smelling the stinkbugs pleasant aroma made us hungry, (kidding) because our next stop was Pizzafari!

As my dear Dis-Twin Joni would say, "The best kind of safari is a Pizzafari!" :rotfl:

We decided to split meals so we could save room for our dinner, which we assumed would be pretty filling. (Is that a hint? It could be. Hahah. No, not really.)

We ordered our food and sat down next to this little guy.

SDC13209.jpg

Jacob and I split a cheese pizza meal. It came with a Caesar salad and a drink (Coke), and dessert of course. We chose the chocolate mousse! I let Jacob have the Coke and I drank water from one of my multiple bottles.

SDC13208.jpg

My mom and Anna split the exact same meal, and my dad got his own meal. He got the Italian sandwich with a Coke and a chocolate mousse as well. I don't have a picture, though. What can I say, the man eats fast. He definitely enjoyed it though! We all really enjoyed our food. I love Disney pizza! I think it's delicious! It's probably because I can't stand thin crust pizza, and Disney pizza has such thick crust. YUM. The Caesar salad was nice and fresh and as well, and the chocolate mousse was SO good. It was perfect! That meal was the perfect size to split, so it worked out really well!

When we left Pizzafari, I made a discovery... A Discovery Island discovery, if you will. They play the Adventureland area music loop in Discovery Island! Tribal rhythms, drums, and all. I automatically had to dance upon discovering that DISCOVERY ISLAND DISCOVERY! (Don't worry, I know when to stop.)

Unfortunately, we also discovered that it was sprinkling again. To be honest, I didn't even care. I actually thought it felt really nice and refreshing! The bad part was that there were rumbles of thunder and flashes of lightning as well.

We weren't about to just LEAVE, because this was our only day at Animal Kingdom! Instead, we walked toward DinoLand. We're rebels like that. We were going against the grain, because basically everyone else in the world (or the park...) was heading towards the exit. WIMPS!!! Yall are gonna let a little bit of WATER keep you away from Disney fun? I do not understand!!!

Whatever, they can do what they want. (And they did, so... not sure why I'm still talking about it.)

We kept on toward DinoLand and promptly learned that the attractions had to close down because of the lightning. We asked a CM, and she told us that we should hang tight. She told us that they have a certain procedure that they have to follow. They have to close down all the rides when they see lightning, but 15 minutes after the most recent flash of lightning, they are clear to open them back up.

We know how fickle storms can be during the summer in Florida, so we figured it would be worth it to just wait it out. My mom really wanted to ride Primeval Whirl, so we hung out in the entrance of the store directly across from it. It wasn't really raining, but there was still lightning in the area.

We had a nice view of this guy.

SDC13212.jpg

Im not sure what his story is...

Chester (or is it Hester? I can't seem to tell them apart. Sad.) just looks to me like he's saying, "Hey yall. Sup."

SDC13213.jpg

Am I right? Maybe not?

At one point while we were waiting, I got the bright idea to run over and get some Expedition Everest fastpasses for Anna, my dad, and me.

When I got back, the rides were just about to open back up! Overall, we ended up waiting around 45 minutes. That sounds like a lot but it honestly wasn't too bad. The boys headed over to ride TriceraTop Spin, and the girls went to Primeval Whirl.

I must say that even though this ride has amused me in the past I did NOT enjoy it this time. I don't really know why! AND, don't ask me how it happened, but somehow I got off the ride with this weird rug-burn type injury that bled. That's always fun...

I don't even know what happened, but I remember I kept yelling, "OWWWWWW!" That ride is violent. Eh, whatever. It was never one of my favorite rides anyway. I do feel a little bad saying that because my mom loves it so much. It's one of the rides she can handle. She has so much fun on it! At least one of us had fun, hahah.

When we got off the DEATH MACHINE we were able to use our Kali River Rapids fastpasses! That ride is so much fun. I've always really been a fan of rides where you might get wet and this one clearly falls into that category.

255386_825032266879_2083309894_n.jpg

We rode with these two girls who were maybe 14 or so, and they were so cute! They had already ridden and they said to us, "You are all gonna get SOAKED!"

One of them said to me, "I sat where you are and I got so wet!!!!"

It was cute. It was nice to see girls that age with that attitude. I feel like a lot of the young teenagers are in the 'too cool for Disney' stage and think everything is lame. (Luckily for me, I never went through that phase. True story.) Plus, it's always great riding with people who are actually letting themselves have fun. A lot of times you get stuck with people who act so awkward because they don't know you.

ANYWAYS...

That ride is short, but it really is a lot of fun. I LOVE that there is a hill in the middle of the ride. I must admit that the girls were right. I got SO wet... so wet that my pants and underwear were damp for the rest of the day but we don't have to talk about that.

It looks like Jacob got wet too, huh?

304716_825032301809_102252297_n.jpg

The exit of Kali River Rapids leads straight towards the Maharajah Jungle Trek, and I really wanted to go see the tigers. It was sprinkling yet again so we didnt know if we'd see much of anything. We didn't go down the bat path because there's a really good chance that more than half of my family has a fear of them...

There were so many people gathered around, and there was a CM speaking, but we couldn't find ANY tigers! I think the rain made them all hide because it took us forever to actually find one!

BUT WE DID!!!

226343_825032341729_2138944352_n.jpg

I was really excited because a) I'm always excited, and b) I love tigers. I think they're so beautiful and majestic. Plus, they were my high school mascot so I'm pretty much a tiger myself. (?) I'm just a fan of cats, really. Big cats, little cats, cats cats cats. I could have watched him for a long time, but he walked away! He was basically like, "Listen, yall can stay out in the rain and stare at me if you want. I'm gonna go somewhere dry. See ya."

He had a British accent, which was nice. It was very Shere Kahn-esque.

I'm really weird.

Once the lone tiger walked away, we didn't really see much of a reason to stick around. Next time I go, I'm going to stay and watch the tigers for a long time. I just love them.

It was getting close to time for the Jammin' Jungle Parade, so we decided to go claim some spots to watch it! Once again, the rain stopped, and this time it went away for good!

We ended up getting a really great spot, right at the entrance of the Tree of Life. That's basically my go-to spot to watch this parade. In fact, its the only spot I've ever watched it from. What can I say, it's a great spot!

The rain had cleared out a lot of the crowds, and it was nice because we didn't have to squish together. It made watching it much more comfortable!

Jammin' Jungle is SUCH a cute parade! It's really one of my favorites at Disney. It's such a colorful and unique parade, and you can't beat the music! It's always so much fun to watch!

Try to ignore the random baseball cap in this picture... focus on King Louie and his dashing banana peel hat.

SDC10628.jpg

Rafiki WOULD be on the first float. He always knows the way.

SDC10631.jpg

And bark and growl and screech and roar!

SDC10646.jpg

SDC10643.jpg

Sorry Minnie's picture is blurry...

SDC10867.jpg

...but look at the BUBBLES!!!

SDC10641.jpg

It's so nice to see Br'er Bear's face for a change.

SDC10648.jpg

And stomp and jump and leap and soar!

SDC10654.jpg

Donald is the cutest thing ever. I LOVE his part of the parade. SO PRECIOUS.

SDC10657.jpg

SDC10652.jpg

Clearly Timon is in love with this random lady. This picture cracks me up!

SDC10868.jpg

Thanks for the jammin' jungle expedition, Mickey! You're swell.

SDC10665.jpg

Ahhh, yay. That parade just always puts me in a good mood. I love it!

When it was over, my mom and Jacob decided to go back to the villa for a while to change and get some dry clothes for everyone. They would meet us at our dinner destination.

The rest of us?

We had a mountain to conquer.

Continued in Next Update

We missed the Maharajah Jungle Trek and Kali this time. You'll have to read *that* saga when I get to my AK day in my TR. Sigh. (<---That was a Shere Kahn-esque sigh, and very dramatic.)

I love Disney pizza, too, and I was actually really pleased with the Caesar salad at Pizzafari! Yum! I'm hungry. Boo.

Looks like you may have gotten a tad bit wet there, guys...wet undies are very uncomfy, but we won't discuss that.

I've never seen that parade, but somehow I know the music?? Explain that one to me!

I love the Tigers, too. We saw them on our last trip and they were just laying around licking their paws just like a regular kitty does. They just look so cuddly. It is hard to imagine they could tear you to pieces in three seconds flat.

We always get SOAKED on Kali. We can pretty much count on it. So we bring in a change of clothes every time we go to AK now because we just know we are going to need them.

Great update. Love those parade pictures. I have NEVER been on Kali River Rapids...I think I may have to give it a try in January if its not too cold. -Amanda

Fun afternoon! I'm so glad you guys didn't let some rain get in the way of AK fun!

Pizzafari, hmmm... you know when they say if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. :rotfl2: Yeah, I'm not really a fan of Disney pizza, but DH on the other hand, thinks its the greatest thing on earth.

I think you guys are brave to ride Kali without a change of clothes. Just thinking about walking around in wet clothes all day makes me feel icky.

You are such a good sport to ride primeval whirl even though you don't enjoy it! I think it is a fun little ride, but you do get tossed around that is for sure!

Oh my gosh, ITTBAB, well, it scares the pants off me! :scared1: I haven't taken Everett and I'm not sure when I'll get up the courage. I'm sure he'll love it, he is already much braver than me! :rotfl:

Looks like y'all were really having a fun day....rain or no rain! :thumbsup2

I'm with your mom on Primevil Whirl! It does toss you around quite a bit but it makes me laugh.

I have yet to ride Kali River Rapids because most of the time I don't like to ride wet rides. I have to be in the mood for them. But, I really need to try that ride some day. It looks like lots of fun!

I love It's Tough to be a Bug! So, so cute! But, I haven't been in the past few years with Reid. The boy freaks out over any kind of bug so I don't think it would be a good choice for him.

Can't wait to hear where y'all went for dinner!!

You know, I never saw the Jammin Jungle Parade! I should probably fix that...
True story: I managed to get through my adolescence without much of an attitude. I think it lasted about a month? (Athought, if you ask my mom it may be a different story...)

ITTBAB really is a great attraction and it is my absolute FAVORITE attraction for first timers. Because I'm mean and I like to see them get scared. :lmao:

Pizzafari is a good choice. It also helps that it's one of the only indoor CS locations in AK. Seriously I wish more of them were indoor. It's always so bleedin' hot in AK!

Oh, I remember that procedure of waiting the lightening out when I was working at Six Flags. We had similar ones, because your fear isn't the rain, it's the lightening. Try telling guests that when they're all yelling in your face that it's not raining out. :scared1:

Primeval Whirl truly is a death machine. I can't do it often.

Sounds like another fun afternoon!

Uggghhh wet undies. If we were talking about that I'd tell you that I find that to be incredibly annoying. :rotfl:

We've yet to enjoy ITTBAB. I've felt like Maddie would be scared of it until now-I think she's ready and we'll try it this year. :thumbsup2

I think we have eaten at Pizzafari once before, but tend to frequent Flame Tree for our CS options or stop off in Asia. Not a huge fan of Disney pizza (shhhh, don't hate me).

Primeval Whirl - it's been ages since I've been on it. I feel like it's always closed when I go. But I remember the last time I went on it, I was laughing hysterically the whole time. I think because I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Not too sure if it would live up to my expectations this time around.

And can we just digress and talk about how handsome/sexy Hook was on Once (with his black eyeliner and all). I'm torn though, because I just feel sad for Rumple. He just wants to be with his son. Poor man, he can't help it that he's all glittery with crazy wavy hair.

And Dr. Whale = Frankenstein? I guess we'll see, but I totally wasn't expecting that.
