Any rumor when 2014 dates come out?

We got off the Wonder 10-14-12.

While aboard, I asked about the 2013 and 2014 DCL schedule, specifically the possibility of a WBTA. According to Pierre and Lisa, officers in the hotel services end of the cruise line, a lot depends on the decisions being made at an excutive meeting that was being held the week we were aboard. Apparently there was a meeting of the highest Disney executives, chaired by Robert Iger, to decide business directions, including the budget and overall business plan.

Specifically, they said a topic on the agenda was the future of the Magic. That would be determining the scope of the drydocking for the ship. So while they could not tell me anything specific, in part due to confidentiality directives, it was in large part because a lot is yet undecided. They did say that Magic would be drydocked in Spain, not Germany nor Italy.

That’s very interesting. I have a colleague who sailed on the Fantasy a couple of weeks ago. He had lunch with the ship’s second officer who told him the Magic was going to get a major refit (like 12-18 months) and not a more simple dry-docking. At the time I chalked that info up to general misunderstanding, but now I’m not so sure. We may have a fairly major announcement coming.

Maybe they plan to install an Aquaduck on the Magic. It is a difference maker when you are deciding to cruise. Fantasy / Dream or Magic / Wonder - "well it doesn't have an Aquaduck". I know it is only a fraction of your total expierence but for some it is a difference maker as to which ship to go on.

I sure wish they would roll the dates out. I have a final payment date coming up and we are wanting to move to a 2014 date. If it goes much longer, I am going to have to move it to a late 2013 date, then move again with 2014 comes out. :confused3

Please not! I like the classy look without the aquaduck.

Personally, I would love to see the duck added to the ship. The pool area is so small, any added water feature would be helpful. I would also like to see them add mini golf, enchanted art, and magic portals.

If they do take the Magic out of service for 12-18 months, that is certainly not going to do anything to help lower prices on the 3 sailing.

Just please let us know something about 2014 DCL!!!

For us it is part of it, along with the better splash area, mini golf etc. there is just more to do to keep young kids busy than on the classic ships. If our kids were older those things wouldn't be as much of a factor.

I agree. The Magic won lots of kudos for its classier look than other cruise lines. I don't think it needs an Aquaduct. Bigger pools, however, would be awesome :lmao:

Maybe they will also refurbish Shutters and make it like the newer ships; redo the atrium and guest services; update the bars and lounges. :thumbsup2

I think the magic portholes and animated art got such good press over the last couple years they'll probably be included in the upgrades. Perhaps some of the kid's clubs updates as well. I'm sure there'll be quite a few upgrades we passengers will never see but will improve the ships operations systems. It is a seagoing vessel after all.

Just please ditch Parrot Cay and give us something, anything else.

I got so excited when I saw the new 2014 price sticky thread templates up this morning. lol. Wishful thinking I guess.

The schedule only has about a 6 week gap in it. They wont be taking ANY ship out of service for 12-18 months.
