OK, I have finally surfaced. Sorry for neglecting my TR for so long. Things just get really crazy here this time of year.
You could always glue some on!
Glad to see they fit. I'm positive they're going to look awesome!
The shoes had silver glitter hearts on them. She actually would prefer that even those weren't there. But no way to get those off. Since I posted, Disney actually premiered Cindy's new look in the parks, complete with glass slippers. So it will be fun for Katie to have some of her own.
After declaring that her shoes fit just fine, she referred to them as "snug" a couple times, so I decided to deal with the hassle of ordering the next size up. They just came today. I think we'll keep them and send back the smaller size. I'd rather put in some insoles or something than risk them being too small. It did occur to me that after a week or so being on her feet in the parks, her feet might swell a little, so the bigger size won out.
What?! I thought this was put on permanent hiatus?!
It appears that Cameron and Disney just unblocked whatever was holding up the project and it's moving forward again.
I love the dresses your daughter has. Did you make all those? They are beautiful! My sis and I had one each when we were kids and my mom even had one for a book fair, but I would have died to have had a whole wardrobe. My DD3 would too so I probably won't show her the pics. She will have to stick with the one my mom is making for halloween.
. My seamstress skills are still at pillowcase dresses and things labeled "easy."
Thanks for sharing the pics!
Thank you so much for reading along and for the kind words.
I love sewing gowns, so yes, I made them all. Which princess is she going to be for Halloween?
I don't think I've posted on your thread since March (maybe longer) and I have not been good about following along. I did just catch up on the last few days of your TR. I'm exhausted just reading along so I'm sure you two were pretty wiped out at the end of this trip. You do have some wonderful memories and AMAZING pictures - thanks for sharing them with us.
The girls look beautiful all dressed up in their costumes and customs. I don't think I care too much for the pop-star hair but it did look cute on the girls. Your dresses are amazing and the Merida costumes are gorgeous. Your pictures from the castle show are outstanding. Katie is looking so grown up and has so much fun with the characters - I love it!
I can't wait to see your pink Cindy costume and read all about your plans for this December. Looking forward to your visit to BOG with the girls in their Belle dresses. I'm curious how the FP return time enforcement will affect your touring schedule and to hear what you think of the new FLE. I'll be reading along on your new TR and hopefully I can do a better job of keeping up with you!
Hi again!
Glad you got all caught up. Then you had to wait WEEKS for me to reply! Things always get crazy here right before Halloween. Today is the first day in a long time I've had a few moments to chill out.
I don't blame you for not being crazy about the hairstyles. They were hard to love. If the girls didn't laugh and smile so much I would have probably felt the same way. It ended up being such a silly day though I couldn't resist just having fun with it.
I was hoping for a new photo with Belle this year in those same gowns, but without the silly hair this time. But they took Belle out of Town Square Theater. It appears our only chance is to have them participate in Enchanted Tales with Belle. If you want a dose of silly drama, stop by that thread in the Theme parks forum. I've sort of lost track of how many names I've been called for not liking them taking Belle's meet & greet away.
I was actually doing OK with it until they told me Belle and the Beast would no longer be appearing at
MVMCP in their holiday finery. Sigh......
I too am curious to see the new FP enforcement will affect our touring. I really just think we'll have to make peace with doing fewer rides. Which could be hard if the new Fantasyland bumps up attendance during our week. Regardless, we have a lot of time scheduled in the MK, so I think we'll be fine.
I am so glad the shoes worked out. Score for you!!
Thats funny that she was worried it would and a Cindy medallion on them. To Claire, that would make it better!
LOL, I think that medallion labels them as kiddie shoes. She loves that she can wear adult shoes now. You should SEE the shoes she always has to try on when we go into a shoe store...........
I am also excited to see your pink Cindy gown. Last year DD5 wore the one from the
Disney store that has come as a set with the wedding gown recently (which sadly went directly to the donate pile - "too scratchy").
DD5 looked adorable (I thought
) in the dress and went with the matching pink diva? hairstyle at BBB. While I prefer the bun style - I knew it was not my choice similar to your experience! Turned out that she loved her hair more than she loved the dress and even wore it in the pool and to the DTD dance party that night.
While at MK, it was very fun to have the Cinderella's pink dress
- a dress that we did not see on any other girls that day! Now, a custom made gown from you
, Perla and friends will be all the more unique!
Sydnerella's Mama
Katie never did well with the Disney costumes. She's very sensitive to anything scratchy. Sometimes I swear she complains about scratchy on things that don't have an ounce of scratchy in them! I know.... because I make them!
Katie's friend is going to wear the pink gown. But Katie had one a few years ago. It really is a lot of fun. The best costumes are the ones nobody else has.
And I sure do wish they'd bring Suzy and Perla back out. We haven't seen them in foever and would love to run into them again. Maybe they'll add them to MVMCP as a trade for Beast/Belle?
I have been lurking on your trip reports and just finished reading them all and I just had to say, you're costumes for Katie are GORGEOUS!!!! I love your pictures and enjoyed reading about your character hunting as that is a common goal for my best friend and I when we go to the World (you've inspired me to find quite a few on our upcoming Christmas trip in 37 days
)! I can't wait to read about your upcoming trips and to see more beautiful costume work! And, I noticed you're from KC and wanted to mention I'm from Topeka! Can't wait to see pictures with the beautiful Merida dresses!
Howdy neighbor! Thanks for the kind words.
I'm glad you found us and I hope you have a magical trip!
Have fun with the character hunting. Are you going to MVMCP?
