January 2013 car rental

If anyone is interested in Alamo use 'Vroom Vroom' ID 299851 and get an upgrade with coupon code AU4234FDA
(found this here on the transportation board and tried it for my Jan dates)

Jan 19-26 (7 days Sat-Sat) prices are the final total
Economy $185, Standard (after coupon) $201, Full (after coupon) $223
Midsize SUV $256
Standard SUV $315, Luxury $335, Minivan $337, Fullsize SUV 369, 15 Pass Van $572

Give your dates a try. The vroom vroom code has been used by many sucessfully without being asked for any additional information (vroom vroom vroom.com is an actual website for car rentals) The rate isn't as good through the vroom website though so put the codes in manually through Alamo.

I booked mine for the dates shown. So much better than the $350 reservation I had for a midsize!

Thank you so much for posting this. Going to check out what I get for my dates!!!

I could not get the Vroom Vroom' to work. Can someone please help?

Thanks.

go to Alamo website

click new reservation

enter dates and times and airport

in the ID box enter 299851

in the coupon code box enter AU4234FDA

click continue and you will see your rates. If you use the dates I put in my example you will get the same rates I posted. If you use different dates the rate may vary but you should still see a really good price compared to what you would get without an ID and coupon code.

The ID worked for me, but not the coupon code. But it was still a great price.

Didn't do anything for me, but I will keep watching. I guess $300 isn't bad for a minivan, but I would still like it cheaper. We have 6 ppl this trip, so my choices are very slim.

Patience everyone, the prices will likely be reduced at the end of the year. Last year, prices for January, 2012 dropped right around December 15th, 2011.

I had a compact booked at $107.57 on 11/30/11. I re-booked on 12/15/12, and got it for $77.37.

Coupon at the time was for $40 off a weekly rate at Alamo.

This coupon expires December 31, 2012.

I have used this coupon code for my January reservation. It was accepted. But, this entry made me nervous, so I went back to double check. This code is from the Entertainment book, and mine says it is good until 6/30/13. Whew. I'd still like to save more, but my current rate, using the Vroom Vroom code and the double upgrade one from Alamo gives me a weekly rate of $223.37. (full size car). If anyone is coming up with better deals, please share!

Subbing! We are going the last week of January for 9 days. We have 5 people, so need a full size.

Sorry---I was doing too many things at once. The other code was December 31.

I used this coupon and Vroom combo and have a standard booked for 10 days picking up at MCO on January 25, and dropping off at SFB on February 3, for $257 including all taxes. I am hoping to get it a little lower between now and then.

I Was car rentals.com,checking the rate for my trip. 1/3 to 1/12 at Mco.
Was able to book full size car for $184 total including tax.
Alamo is the company.

I just checked prices that seemed too good to be true with carrentals.com Then I googled their name and reviews. They get a lot of complaints it seems.

I am going the first week week of January and the rates are still insane! I need 8 nights and the prices I'm getting are like $300.00+...which means so far we are not renting a car which has never happened before.

I still havent booked my 'bird in hard reservation' and am getting nervous! I really need to just have something just in case ya know!
:goodvibes

Its my understanding that coupons arent even out for after 2012 except the Entertainment Guide coupon, correct??:confused3

Just reserved dollar for 9 days in late Jan/early Feb 2013. Standard size for $322 with Dollar. This is much more than we wanted to pay. Hopefully prices will come down....

I dont know if this will help at all but when I was pricing things out it seemed to be a bit cheaper for me to pick up my car at a DTD hotel and return it to MCO.

I dont know if this would work well for everyone..

It works well for us because we have a lot of luggage coming down (Utilizing magical express and dropping off my daughters to the Disney College Program) but not have to worry about being back to our resort 3 hours before our flight.
