Report: Wristbands Replace Tickets

This is part of the Disney's billion dollar NextGen project that they started a year ago. As reported tests are currently underway on the Fast Pass changes and the new resort room door locks are currently being installed.

Soft drink dispensers were also tested last year.

How would this work for the no expiration tickets? We buy 10 day non expiration tickets and use them over 3 years.:confused3

Then you'll have to wear that wristband for those 3 years without taking it off :rotfl2:

Other reports have suggested the band as one option. The RFID tag in the wristband is the main part. They now have RFID tags in KTTWs. And Disney has to have other options, some people are allergic to plastic.

I thought they got rid of EMh bracelets because of their negative impact on the environment. Wouldn't these be even worse? :confused3

Unless they could be reused trip after trip somehow! That would be cool.

Sounds like an awful idea. Why would I want to wear a wristband the whole trip

Why do people put there admission ticket on their room key???

This idea will catch on like wildfire because it's convenient and has a cool factor.

We do the same thing. I also wouldn't want to wear a wristband for a week. I hate wearing it for the day at SAB.

Would all guests need to get their own FP? I usually am the runner that gets them for our family. I would imagine it would cause longer lines for FP.

There is talk of you putting FP's on your account from home so no more running.

Although adding a couple of fastpasses from home might be interesting, I certainly would not want to do most of them that way. Never really know what park or ride we want to do from day to day let alone from hour to hour!!!

Not sure how annual passholders will fare with this, as if you have an AP on a bracelet they would have to reprogram it for a different resort room every trip.

Nothing is on the bracelet but your account number. Tickets, FP's, DDP, high scores, attraction preferences, room key, charging privileges, and more will be stored in Disney's servers waiting for your return.

what do you mean high scores? this time i beat hubby at TSM & they'll be able to store my all time score against him? :cheer2:

Don't you like the ticket as a "keep sake" from your trip?
do you think this is going to change with many more changes to come?

Just a thought....

Robin & Angel "D" :thumbsup2

so you would keep the bracelet all the time and have to remember to bring it back for each visit.

Are they going to have options other than a bracelet?

For those that don't want to wear it on your wrist, would there be any reason you couldn't just clip it to your belt? I think the idea has merit, but I'm not wild about wearing it around my wrist all the time; especially in the heat. I'm for anything that would cut down the time waiting at the turnstile.
