As we're talking about souveniers, my list goes something like this

Mug - always have to have a mug for my coffee
Jewelry - I always look at jewelry so am bound to pick up something
Handbags - I want to check those out
Pins - I love pins, although I wouldn't call myself a collector (even though I have over 200 :rolleyes1)
T-shirts - definitely have to get at least one
Collector Dolls - I will look. I might buy. I might not.
And any other shiney stuff that catches my eye.

My DH is a hat freak - last time he bought 4 hats and this time he already has a list of hats he needs .... yep, apparently he needs them :teeth:

How many pins do you need before you consider yourself a collector?? :lmao:

:offtopic: For some reason I am not receiving instant notifications for my subscribed threads :confused3. Anyone else having this problem? I have to go to userCP to find out what I'm missing. :(

We usually don't buy too much, I always get Guerlain perfume from France (I swear it smells better from there!) I want to do pick a pearl now. I was thinking of picking up a Disney charm bracelet now and getting a cage on eBay. We also end up with a plush toy for the kids, 2 tshirts and we usually find a special toy to save for Christmas. I also like to pick a frame out to have for a special picture :) I guess it's more than I thought!!!

Happy Friday- the staycation is almost over and the weather says no rain!! Fingers crossed bc it will be the first day we can actually enjoy fall in New England.

My husband has to have a coffee mug (even though he doesn't drink coffee), and maybe a hat. He usually chooses one or the other.

And now it's today!!! I will watch the game and probably root for your Braves (but really dont care because my Reds play tomorrow).

Yay! Go Braves. I am so excited .... have told everyone that my phone will be switched off, and front door ignored - if they have an emergency, find a neighbour :p

I also have Survivor on DVR to watch.

I wanna see how that Michael gets injured .... again! Wow, he is such a doofus :rotfl2:

I think I am going to stick with the one I used last year or the Small World one I bought but dont really like.

I wasn't that keen on the Small World bags tbh. I just need a bag big enough to hold purse, camera & phone and I figured I should get one to match my sneakers

I'm browsing through the floorplans for Disneys Golden Oak Homes. I can't decide if I would actually want to live in WDW ... would that take away some of the magic, just being able to go a park everyday if we wanted? Part of the excitement of Disney is choosing the resort and staying at a different one. I worry that a community like Golden Oaks would be a little like Stepford Wives :scared1:

Its a lot to consider. I'm really wasting *cough* I mean taking my time looking at all the pros and cons.

Only one little minor flaw in my plan .... I need at 1.5M for the smallest house besides the yearly memberships etc :rolleyes1

Disney Golden Oaks

This was just posted on the CSR thread about Pop Warner, confirming which resorts they will be at.

A three (3) night minimum stay is required and includes a standard room at Disney’s All-Star Resorts, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort or Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. All participants/coaches must book a package through Disney Sports Travel and stay at these select Walt Disney World® Resort hotels*

Saturday, December 1st through Saturday, December 9th

Yes, he really is. His poor wife!!!

I like the color and idea of the bag. I just dont care for the actual bag. I like lots of inside pockets to keep things organized, not just one big opening. And the zipper doesnt go all the way across so the opening is way smaller than it could be.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Yeah, sorry about the smallest picture in the world ^^^^^

:lmao:

Yeah um..cute bag, I think. :rotfl:

I'm in denial :snooty:

Yes, yes you are!

Disney Golden Oaks

DH says the same thing, that living there would make it less magical. Ummm we could go to WS for dinner whenever we wanted. We could celebrate our birthdays there-dinner or even a day in the parks. We could visit every special event and festival we wanted. We could see fireworks whenever we wanted. You could just stay one night at a resort and get to experience them all. I think it would take a long time to get tired of it.

Yes, I was the enabler that mentioned the thermal shirts on sale... :smokin:
The shirt was just really slender cut - I'm actually a pretty slender person, but I don't like clingy things and this is just cut very narrow. Make sense? I'm thinking if I buy the large then I'll ended up having some really long sleeves?

But hey for $12, I might just deal with it and hope you won't be able to see the outline of the cupcake I just ate...

Glad to know this! I was seriously thinking about ordering a couple of those thermal shirts, but if they are that clingy I think I'll pass and wait for them to get a few more sweatshirts in (although that holiday hoodie they have right now is stinking cute......hmm........)!

As for my "Must Buy" list for our trip:
Santa Mickey Hat
Christmas Ornament (oh, who the heck am I kidding, that should be ornaments as in multiple 'cause I can NEVER walk out of the Christmas store at DTD with just one :rotfl2:)
A charm for my bracelet
MVMCP & AoA pins

Mind you, that's just what I HAVE to buy, I'm sure a LOT more will end up finding it's way into my suitcase for the trip home :upsidedow

Yay for being able to say NEXT MONTH!!!! :cool1:

Yikes! I can't believe how many pages have gone by since I posted yesterday!

I was very happy when I was able to say that about our vacation on October 1st. Next month we are heading to Disney :woohoo:

Morning ya'll!

So yesterday afternoon I started updating my spreadsheet with info for our vacation days... stuff like park hours, ADR's and must-do's for whichever park we're in... it's nothing crazy detailed, just a little one pager that I can whip out if needed... anyway - I had park days figured out, or at least thought I did and now, with the realization that we may be headed for MK on parade taping day (late afternoon) I feel like I'm back at square one...

Is there a chance MK will reach capacity on parade taping day? We won't be getting there until maybe 2pm. I have a Liberty Tree Tavern ADR at 4:15 for this day - if park is full will I still be able to get in for our ADR?

For our souveniers? The ONE thing I WILL buy, that I completely regret not buying in June, is an ESPN travel mug at Team Mickey store at DTD. It's pink and reads: "Yes, I'm a girl, Yes, I know the game, Yes, I watch Sports Center"... this will be the one and only thing I buy for myself.

Other things on our list:
* Mickey head shaped Christmas dish (for Santa cookies)
* Vinylmations for stockings stuffers
* Treats from Goofy's Candy shop (also for stockings)
* Little Mermaid top for DD14 - hoping to buy this at AoA and kill two birds with one stone... Would love to visit the resort and gift shop is supposed to have the better assortment of Ariel merchandise.
* Bath Basin hand made Christmas soaps for office coworker gifts.

For now, that's gonna be about it... I don't want to over spend knowing Christmas will be 20 days away when we return... I'll already be in a post Disney depression funk... add being broke and it'll be horrible! :crazy2:

wow, havent been on since yesturday afternoon(had a quick run to check on BIL that is in tthe hospital) and get on this morning to find I now have 8 pages to catch up on. my DD said to me "well, ya dont have to read them all"....ya what would she know:confused3.....excited to say that we are 74 days from leaving an 76 days from check in! time to really check ou the clothing and see what we are needing to purchase-it is starting to get cold and frosty here so the capri, short sleeve, shorts, and so forth are cheap and will soon not be found!....but on a high note, DS will make target varsity weight for wrestling and found where he can run at the resort to make sure he makes it when we return home!:cheer2:

So confession time here - I haven't actually TRIED the shirt on yet. I just opened the package and was like "OH, um wow so skinny cut" and decided I didn't want to depress myself by actually seeing what I look like in it... but I'll take it for the team and try it on tonight - I'm thinking thermal fabric is kinda forgiving and stretchy?? I'm hoping that's the case...

This trip in 56 days was a total and complete surprise... having just been in June and my trip before that was 7 years prior - there was no way I would've ever imagined being back in less than 6 months. So in June we went to the Christmas store and bought a few ornaments but there were SOOO many I wanted. So I feel you - there are just too many beautiful ornaments to pick from, it's really tough to walk out with just one! We have two trees one more formal and the family room (more whimsical) tree... I bought us all little Mickey ear hat ornaments and I'll use a white paint pen to add our names. This trip I plan on getting the pack of four Mickey head shaped ornaments that are painted as different characters: Mickey, Donald, Minnie and Goofy...

Can't wait! :goodvibes

Good morning!

57 days!

I volunteered for overtime at work tomorrow. Blahhhh. I am trying to stay positive though. I decided whatever is extra in my check each week will be withdrawn and put into a piggy for Disney spending money. This is the only thing that will get me through the next several weekends.
