Pumped... heading to CSR 11/24-12/1. Had booked a standard with fingers crossed to get a room (upgrade) in the Casitas close to the main building. But just bit the bullet and paid an extra $200 for the preferred room. So $200 for 2 months of peace of mind and the guaranteed location - worth it!

Ha!! I have been thinking about dropping my preferred, but haven't called yet. Now I will be rethinking it again. :confused3

$200 is a good chunk of dough, but think about how you will doubt yourself if you do drop it, and consider the potential regret if you do not score an upgrade and find yourself on the other side of the lake.

I love security when it comes to Disney vacations. I'd hate to regret it if we were on the other side of the lake doing extra walking that could have been avoided.

True. And Casitas are my favorite. But we will have a car now, so I could just drive to El Centro if I didnt want to walk there from Ranchos.

We are heading to CSR on Monday :) I just wondered if the telephone number listed on page 1 of this thread is the number to call to speak to someone about our rooms? We are travelling with family and would like to have rooms in the same building if possible :)

PIGLET

I will be checking in on Monday too. We are driving from Kentucky. Hope to be there around Noon.

Preferred rooms are only in casitas 1, 2 and 3. There is no need to request cabanas for a preferred room. If you would like cabanas, you should book either a standard king or a waterview king and request cabanas (but you might get casitas 4 or 5 or ranchos instead).

There is a quiet pool in each section of the resort. The quiet pool in the casitas is a lap pool. Casitas and cabanas are both reasonably close to El Centro.

If there are no preferred kings, they would likely downgrade you to a standard or waterview king and refund any difference in price.

As long as you are OK with stairs, fourth floor casitas 2 is ok. But if you have strollers or wheelchairs, it would be aggravating. Enjoy your stay!

Yea she was ok with it because i carried all the heavy bags !!! uhg my back still hurts !!! The resort was nice and we had an amazing time ! We will be back

I just looked up the SPIE convention and the websites states that the Boardwalk is where they're holding the conference. Is this because they've filled CSR or have they moved it? Can anyone confirm this?

I am still seeing them at CSR from February 9-14, 2013, and CSR is listed if you click the hotel link on the conference site. Is this the site you are viewing?

I heard from Buzz this morning with some Pop Warner news. :( CSR will be one of the moderates available to Pop Warner groups. Here is the info from Buzz:

A three (3) night minimum stay is required and includes a standard room at Disney’s All-Star Resorts, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort or Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. All participants/coaches must book a package through Disney Sports Travel and stay at these select Walt Disney World® Resort hotels*

Saturday, December 1st through Saturday, December 9th

We have never been at a resort with the Pop Warner crowds, but I have heard some bad things about the parent chaperones (more so than the kids). There shouldn't be any scheduled activities at CSR as far as I know, but it might be crowded with football teams. Just FYI!

Run, run away as fast as you can! ::yes::

Oh, hi Andy. I didn't know you ventured away from the safe harbors of the DDC. popcorn::popcorn::

Don't spend too much time away from the usual TR's and DDC, but venture out every once in a while.

I think I'm going to try to work on my sales pitch to get it switched. :faint:

So bummed to see this. We have a reservation for CSR from 12/1 - 12/8. :headache: :(

To be fair, most of the problems I have read about Pop Warner have been at the value resorts. I think they are more heavily booked than the moderates. But I wanted to get the word out for anyone who might want to change dates or :( resorts.

I don't think it would be that bad. I think the mods are for overflow... the whole resort shouldn't be packed with them.

I was thinking the same thing. :thumbsup2

Yeah, it is a tough call. We're stuck with that week and really would like to get a stay in at CSR since we've never been there yet. It is just frustrating. Although I'm already frustrated with the park hour changes and other schedule conflicts that have already been caused by the Fantasyland opening that week. :headache:

We are staying put. We used to be part of Pop Warner YEARS ago. It was more the parents than the kids. But I think with the problems in the past and Disney putting their foot down, I think you will see that it won't be as much of a problem, if any, as in the past. I also think Mary is right...it is worse at the values. But I will be going down to the front desk and complaining if I see things out of hand.

Maybe I can just use it as an exuse to get DW moving so we can spend more time in the parks. :lmao::rotfl:
