Love that story!LETS GO YANKEES!!
Oh and as the pp posted about Brett Gardner. Remember how he hit the first in the park home run at the new stadium and they told the story of how a little girl gave him a bracelet for good luck and he visited her in the hospital and she was waiting for a heart transplant.
Well that little girl is a friend of our family!!!. She actually is in her early 20's but her stature is of about a pre teen or 10 year old due to all the radiation she had from a bone marrow transplant. She had the heart transplant and after that had 2 brain tumors. Looks like she is still Bretts good luck charm..sweet Alyssa!
We are huge fans of Brett Gardner. It was so nice to see him get that hit last night.
As a side note, I am always calling him Nicky, because I think he and George Eads (Nick) from CSI look a lot alike.

....all I can say is, those A's really took care of business! Wow, they TROUNCED the Rangers!Certainly been an interesting baseball season, especially as an A's fan. Most of our free time this year has been spent following the A's.
Started with a vacation to Spring Training in Phoenix.
I live in Sacramento where the A's triple A team, the River Cats ares, so went to lots of their games. And the A's probably pulled up and send down more players during the course of the season than any other team, so we literally would see a kid playing with the River Cats one week, the A's the next, and the River Cats again the week after.
Live 90 minutes from Oakland, so lots of their games.
Looking forward to all the playoff games.

That's funny, and they do have similarities. I think Russell Martin reminds me of a young Ray Liotta. Maybe something about the eyes ??
I left for Disney with the A's 3 games down. I came back to hear that Texas got knocked out in the wild card game. Woohooo!!!! And the Giants, who lost their first three games just quietly got back in it and won their division going away. And the best part of these playoffs? No Phillies.
....wow, none of the home teams won....
....and can someone please explain why the Yankees have the BEST RECORD IN THE AL but the first game is AWAY??!??!?!
