A Bird's Eye View of London and Paris March 2012 TR NEW! The END 1/12 p35

Nice pics of the studios area.

Paris driving is crazy. We took a cab from the train station to our hotel and it was NUTS.

Eiffel Tower during the light show is gorgeous. I saw it one night while I was walking around.

What a great summary of DLP. Very well done.

Great pics.

This area looks fun! We need some of this in Hollywood Studios in WDW.

Great update! :goodvibes The city at night is beautiful!! But what about that traffic??? :faint: That is crazy! :crazy2: I'm glad you didn't have to try to drive in that!

Love Sarah's thoughts. :thumbsup2 It's always nice to hear what children think of things.
Yes, I thought the city was beautiful and even more so since I wasn't driving!!
Sarah might be back with another report on the Disney Studios park!

Looks better in the sun doesn't it? I really enjoyed the light show!
Sarah will be back with another installment! Stay tuned.

Awesome update Sarah! You write very well. :thumbsup2
She thanks all of you! She loves writing.
Luvin the Eiffel Tower by night pics:thumbsup2
Isn't it pretty?

There's a chance - if they add carsland, they could incorporate some of this Toy Story stuff too! Wouldn't that be great? I'd spend more time there for sure then!

I missed Sarah's report but luvin it as well :thumbsup2
Thanks!!

Today is Sarah’s 11th Birthday!!! Not a bad way to spend your birthday – DLP!!! Unfortunately, it was also our last day at DLP and we were heading back to London.

We got up and showered, etc. and headed to breakfast at Manhattan again. This time we were seated in what I called the “add-on” room (not the same big room as the buffet). We filled up on our yummy chocolate croissants again (last time!). After breakfast, we went back to the room to brush teeth and do our final packing. We took our luggage down to the reception desk and headed back for one last time to Disneyland. We had a few hours before our train left so we knew we could only do a few things today.

Out the "back" door to the ice rink. Cute little "zamboni"!

Back to our pretty castle - The Birthday Girl!
DSCN5693.jpg

I told her that was her birthday cake in the window!
DSCN5691.jpg

Another cool shot of the castle.
DSCN5695.jpg

We asked the girls what they wanted to do and they said…Casey Jr!!! So we trekked to the back of the park and rode Casey Jr again! We also managed to find a place that was open and sold ICE CREAM!!! Sarah had to have some of course!!
But it was not at the one on Main Street.
DSCN5692.jpg

That was still all deserted!
This was where we found an open place with ice cream!
DSCN5698.jpg

DSCN5699.jpg

You'd think I'd have a picture of her actually eating the ice cream, wouldn't you? Sorry.

This was inside the castle looking up.

I liked this mirror sign!

Then we worked our way back to the front of the park – stopping to look and shop our way out Main Street.
We saw these guys.

We had to walk around Disney Village to go back to the hotel. It was very crowded as they were setting up for some type of convention. Then we got to the hotel and saw hordes of young people. They were wearing sashes and had flags from various countries.
So we got our luggage from the bell desk, and said goodbye to the Hotel New York!
DSCN5684.jpg

Went back through Disney Village and made one quick stop in a store so Paige could buy Sarah a birthday gift. Nothing like waiting til the last minute!
I want to say this is in one of the shops.
DSCN5686.jpg

I know this one is...

Bye Disney Village!

Then it was time to go and figure out the weird train schedule and stuff.
Ready for the train!

I thought the train was sort of weird. You wait around until they post your train on the board to show you what platform you need to go to, and then you have about 3 minutes to get there! No one checked our tickets, no one sat in the right seats, it was kind of strange.
We ended up sitting by some people who's little boy was so undisciplined! He was hanging over the seat, the table, and his dad just watched him do it. Okay. Whatever.
We had another 1.5 hour stop at Lillie and then we were back in London!!!

Happy 11th birthday Sarah! :cool1: How wonderful that you got to spend it in DLP! What a wonderful last day.

Lol to Paige waiting until the last minute to buy a Christmas present. That so sounds like Nicholas.

So sorry your trip is coming to a close, but it has been so much fun reading about your amazing trip.

She had a great day!
I am sad that Paris is done, but I will put up some stuff from London - we had another 5 days there!

coolest 11th birthday ever!! LOL!!

I think I mentioned on FB at the time, she got to spend her birthday in two amazing cities - Paris and London. Not bad for 11, eh?

We are at less than 2 weeks now!!! I just changed our car rental from a small SUV to a full size sedan and saved about $130! That's more souvenir money!!!
I have revamped my packing list, made a list of things to remember (like what we want to do and see at WDW - special stuff) and started thinking of what specific clothes to bring. It looks like it is pretty warm there now, so I don't expect to bring too many heavy warm clothes (they take a lot of space too). Still working on costumes for DH and me. Sarah is set, Paige just needs a tail. Did I tell you what they are going to be?
Sarah is Boo from Monsters, Inc. She used to look just like her when she was little with bangs. She was also obsessed with that movie when she was two.
Paige is going as Marie from the Aristocats.
I was trying to find a way we could all be something connected, but no dice with the kids.
Still open to suggestions, but has to be easy or something I can buy since I'm running short on time. Mouseketeers are a back up plan since we made t-shirts for last year's neighborhood party and have ears.

I like the idea of the Mouseketeers,..you already have it and it'll pack easy. You won't need any heavy clothes, both times we have been in Oct have been hot. It's still humid at this time also,..it will be much better than in the summer, but I would only bring one pair of jeans or something and a light jacket for nights when it cools off... It will be a little warmer than what I have and our Octobers are usually pretty warm~no 90s, but upper 70s and some 80s.
I can't believe it's so close!! The girls are gonna be so cute in their 'stumes!!!

Happy Birthday is right! I'm so glad she got her ice cream :thumbsup2 and am completely cracking up at the 11th our sibling gift, I know that scenario VERY well.

Pretty special place for a birthday, definitely one to remember.

I want to be in a Disney park someday for my birthday! Boo to saying bye to Disney

What a great way to spend an 11th birthday -- chocolate croissants, ice cream, and DLP!! :cool1: DS turns 11 tomorrow. Guess he's going to have to settle for a cake and a new Lego set! :rotfl:

I can't believe your WDW trip is so close!! I really want to get back to WDW in October sometime, but it just never works out with our school schedule. We went in Oct on our very first trip back in 2005. It was hot and humid!! So hopefully you won't have to pack too many heavy clothes. I am dreading that for the December trip. :scared:

What a super cool 11th birthday for Sarah! :cheer2: What did Paige end up buying for her?

We are at 13 days today! Pretty soon we will both be back in the World. I'm getting so excited! Do the girls just have 2 days off for MEA? Our district threw in Wednesday as well so Morghan will just have to miss 2 days. Score! :thumbsup2

Yeah, for now it's going to get packed so I have something! I'm not packing too much heavy stuff- a hoodie and a pair of jeans. I will be wearing yoga pants in the car so I'll have those too. I just hope we don't get a lot of rain. I did get my ponchos so hopefully that will ward off storms! If I didn't have them, you know it would rain!

Yeah, it was pretty funny that Paige decided then she needed to buy her something. I reminded Sarah how lucky she was - often!! I also told her that we probably can't top it, so don't get your hopes up!

I want to be in a Disney park someday for my birthday! Boo to saying bye to Disney
Me too!! I will get to be on a Disney cruise on my birthday next year (although it's the debarkation day!). I would have felt worse about leaving Disney but we still had a lot of time in London, which made it easier.

Yup, my poor deprived child, right? Tell your DS Happy Birthday!!! I know he'll be happy with more Legos!
October is nice for us because we do have a couple days off of school. But I prefer to go when it's cold here and warm there. October weather here is usually pretty nice.

Oh - she bought her a blue Mickey journal that she'd noticed a few days before.

For us it's now 11 days!!!! :cheer2: I can't wait! We only have the two days off, so they will miss 3. We have conferences tonight, so I'm going to talk to the teachers about it. It shouldn't be too bad. Sarah doesn't seem to have tons of homework yet and Paige only has a math page 3 or 4 times per week.
When is Morghan's actual birthday? Is it during the trip? She better get a birthday button so she gets spoiled!!

Oh man!! 11 days!!! That's unreal! I am not too far behind ya! we just broke into the 30s today with 39 days!!! You are gonna have so much fun with all the fall decor! I love all the Harvest stuff at Disney!

Our schools usually don't give out too much homework MEA week so hopefully all of our girls will be okay in that department. :thumbsup2 Her birthday was back in May. It just didn't work school and work wise to go then so I waited until MEA. I'm still getting her a birthday button for sure though! pixiedust:

Soon Sheree, soon we will be there!!!!!!!

Well, my friends - we are in SINGLE DIGITS today!!!
We leave in 8 days and arrive in 9!
:yay:

I went back and checked the park hours - they are longer!
DH and I had a brief discussion about possibly getting park hoppers last night. That turned into possibly getting APs and changing our spring break trip to Hilton Head back to WDW instead. Notice I said "brief" discussion? Yeah, I didn't really want to spend that much more $$, and he got up this morning and said, "I really don't want to go to WDW during spring break. It's too crowded" So we will just enjoy our expanded park hours, spend more time at the pool and stick to our original plan! Speaking of which, have I shared that with you yet? No, well than I shall do so!

Arrival Saturday 10/13 evening.
Check into AKV - Jambo! Our room should be ready because there's no way we'll get there before 5 p.m.!

Hang out at resort, have a visit from SIL who will be coming off a cruise at Port Canaveral that day.

Sun 10/14 - AK
Dinner at Ohana
Fireworks from Poly beach

Mon 10/15 - Epcot - Food and Wine baby!!!

Tues 10/16 - Kona breakfast
If good weather - go to Celebration, eat at Town Tavern
MNSSHP!!!

Wed 10/17 - sleep in a bit - either MK or DHS? Who knows? Maybe a water park if these old tickets someone gave us still have that left on them. Nothing set in stone park-wise.
Dinner at Boma later - we figure we have to pack up our stuff to move the next day.

Thurs 10/18 move to OKW (1BR - doing laundry!)
Take the boat to DTD and do a little shopping
DISMEET at Epcot in the afternoon, probably just stay at Epcot and hit some more F&W!

Fri 10/19 - probably sleep in (which never means much to us - we tend to wake early anyway) and spend our last day at MK

Sat 10/20 - pack up and hit the road.

We don't have any set things we "have" to do other than those listed. We plan to play it by ear, try to take it slow and relax and enjoy. I have a list of things to remember, like things I might want to shop for, and some rides/attractions I'd like to do, but that's it. We're going to just focus on doing the things we want to do most.
I hope we get to meet lots of our DIS friends and if you're there and you see us, you BETTER come say hi or I will be offended!
