Team Goddess - Volume 11. Rocking 2012 Goddess Style!

Hi all!

Karen - awesome on the loss!

Jo - your holiday sounds amazing!

Nancy - you have no idea how many times DH said the same thing!

Lisa - I have weighed in, but only to get my starting weight. I'm intrigued to see what will happen now I'm exercising!

Night all!

Thank you Lisa I do feel like I lost, the scale however does not show me the love.

Kelly, will you have to pay each time you go to WW now until you get back under the 5 pounds? Or are you still a lifetime memeber?

Jo, I *think* I have to pay until I get to the 5lb mark. Blah. The way the weight loss is going that could actually be a lifetime! :rotfl:

Tonight is the night I have my free session with a personal trainer - can't say I'm looking forward to it! :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a great day :wave2:

You WILL feel better after your work out with the trainer. Good Luck

Ok so I did weigh in yesterday and I was down 2.4 pounds. This was unexpected. I have been consistent at the same weight for awhile that I expected a much slower loss. I haven't changed my calorie in take drastically but lowered my sugar in take a good amount. Maybe that was what did the trick. Either way the scale jumped down this week.

Jo-I don't know if you saw my earlier post but I have been at the same weight for awhile now but I went up in the weights I was lifting, my clothes fit better, I felt stronger. It took me awhile to realize the scale doesn't always tell the full story.

Also it sounds like you had a great time on your trip! I saw a few pictures on FB but I'll have to take a look at the rest today. Looked like a lot of cute family pictures.

Nancy- We are going November 29-December 6. Staying at Caribbean Beach.

Karen- Great job on the loss and PT for Rey is such a good step in the right direction so that's awesome.

Hi to everyone else! Happy Friday!

Yay on the loss Meg

We stayed at CBR and loved it, the girls loved the pool. Craig loved how close it was to everything other than MK. Team Goddess told me to rent a car. That was the best tip I ever got. So worth every penny. I don't think I could ever go to WDW with my family without renting again.

As much as I would like to harass certain people - I simply don't have time right now.

Hrmph! Consider me offended! :rotfl2:

Karen and Meg--outstanding job with the losses! Goddess Crowns for both of you!

Me? Yeah, my crown is tarnished and collecting dust....time to work on that!

So wedding details....

I came up with one but Brian vetoed it pretty quickly. Katie's pretty set on doing hers half up with soft curls.

.

What? I guess we need to put Brian on Kelly's mug now! :rotfl2:

Loved all of it Megan. Interesting. Your sister is obviously my kindred spirit. ;)

There is so much in this that reminds me of me when I spent the month in the air cast for my ankle. No sugar coating it, it sucks when you can't exercise and it sucks when you come back from the injury and realize you've been set back. But I totally know you'll be back to kicking butt before you know it. Just listen to your body, I had trouble with that, I always wanted push to get back to pre-injury shape and sometimes my ankle felt it needed a day off. That was a good lesson for me.

So from fall 2010 to fall 2011 I cut almost two minutes off my 5k time by just doing boot camp to become stronger and by loosing weight. I feel like that was step one. Now I'm running about 27 minute 5ks. I'm doing boot camp for the strength stuff and then I have five days a week of running. Three days I run a 5k and 2 days I run sprints for however long my 5k time is. So right now I'm at a 27 minute 5k time, I run 27 minutes worth of sprints. I've also cut wayyyy back on my sugar, it was the weak spot of my healthy eating and my trainer has said it's a big factor in my goals.

The last aspect is mental. I am physically really able to do more then what I mentally think I can. So I'm learning to never let myself do just enough, every workout I am having to push myself just a little harder then the one before. Even if the one before was only two days ago. It sounds crazy but really I've learned by body is capable of way more then I was asking it to do.

So the idea is that with all these factors coming together my typical 5k time should be around 24 minutes. I have a fabulous resource with my trainer Kelly and have learned so much from talking to her. I'll keep you guys posted on any results I see with this training plan but I know it's mentally given me drive and made me look at my workouts differently. Right now I'd kill to run a 24 minute 5k too, it just seems so crazy to think Kelly says without a doubt I should be doing a 24 minute 5k.

Hope any of this helps!!

:thumbsup2 on the post but big :thumbsup2 on the bold!

Good lord. I leave for like 15 minutes and Red starts having fits. :confused3 Well, Jeff just PRd his 10k time last month at a 7:15. Seven freaking fifteen. So his 5k is under 20.

My head hurts. What mathematical ease am I'm missing with Jeff (but I can see it's a wow :thumbsup2). Speak to fitty Red like she's a four year old - even though she's neither red nor *fitty*. ;)

You do realize that both Riley and Cammie are in Middle School, right? YES...little CAMMIE is in middle school! (It's sick and wrong, truly.) So I am all about the lingo.

Funny story. It was the week before the first day of school and Riley's girlfriend was over helping Cam get ready for middle school. (Middle school is grades 6-8 here, so Cam is in 6th and Riley and his girlfriend are in 8th. And Riley's girlfriend is the most popular girl in the grade...and since she's in the highest grade, that basically makes her the most popular girl in school.) Anyway, she is helping Cam pick out the *perfect* backpack and the *right* shoes and all of that. It was actually much sweeter than it sounds here. Not just based on materialistic stuff. Anyway, then they made a plan--the whole school has a 20-minute break in the middle of the day. So Elizabeth said that she would make it a point to call Cammie over to her group of popular 8th grade girls (which would mean in front of the whole school since everyone is hanging out at break time) and say something like, "OMG, you look totes adorbz today! It's so great to finally have some cool 6th graders..." Thus giving Cam street cred. I was listening to all of this planning from the other room and just giggling like crazy...

Middle school already. Holy. Sighing.

Man, you guys talk a lot when I'm asleep :rotfl2:

So, I actually ran on the treadmill last night. Like really ran. Only for 5 minutes but still! I felt like I was going to fly off it. Imagine Bambi, on roller skates, on a treadmill. Thats me! :rotfl:

OMG - :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2: - the visual was PERFECT Kelly. :goodvibes

Meg- I love the wedding update! Fultons sounds like it was just meant to be! And I bet that dress looks really cute on you! How long are you going to be down there?

Whoops - I forgot to say that too (Thanks Nancy). Meg the dress - even though it doesn't fee like you - I bet it will look fabulous. It's a great dress to have because the style is timeless. I too would struggle with pink but it's very subdued, don't you think?

First my trip..

The girls loved disney, we did BBB they loved it, I had dresses from home they did not even know they were going to BBB or that I had dresses.

We did dinner at 1900PF Alexa just loves Cindy. She wrote her a story and I forgot it in the room, so 1900PF let us come back the next day and give it to her Alexa was so very happy, then the next nigh we saw the SAME Cindy at CRT for dinner, she remember Alexa, OMG that was the best ever.

We did MBYBBQ, The girls really like the dancing, the food was ok, not bad, not wonderful, I would do it again if they girls wanted to.

We did Spirit of Aloha. GROSS.. THe girls loved the show, The girls and I did not like the food. DH loved the food. I woudl so not do that again and I am glad I did not pay for it.

We did CP.. Yummy!! They loved Pooh, and friends. We did Cape May for dinner. I like that alot, the crap legs were small but all the other food was yummy.

We did Tusker House, It was OK. I would not do it again

We did ESPN on our last day, the food was good, bar food. DH was happy.

We got to go into Bells Enchanted Tail. Alexa was picked to play Maurice and Alaina was Portrait, (a frame) then they go into a room and Bell comes in and the "act" out her story. They were so so so happy.

I have tons of pictures, I am still working on my disney photo pass. Once I get that finished and I get the CD I will start my book. I have about 500 plus pictures on our camera too.

I still need to do the photo book from the princess. BUT E, have you ever uploaded your pictures? And if so, do you guys want to wait and I do 2012 & 2013 together? I sometimes get overwhelmed when I have a ton of pictures to pic from, and I know for 2012 you have uploaded ALOT ..

Meg, I love the idea also of the wedding being at Fultons. I think you will look great in that dress. I will head to FB to night to find the shower pics.

Karen, 20 pounds WOW! How did you do that! Congrats!!!!!!

Me I have lost a few, I have been doing this work out program all summer
http://www.jillianmichaelsbodyrevolution.com/
best money I ever spent, I love it, its hard and I feel stronger. I just finished the 3 months before we left, so I am now starting it over.

I have my 3rd half in Oct. I have not ran a ton this summer , I have 10 miles to do this Saturday. Wish me luch.

You don't need good luck Jo. Smiling.

Loved the mini TR - enjoyed it all. Although I'm a *down with the princesses* girl :rotfl2: ;) - well down's a kind word - well I truly loved your Cinderella story.

Hi all!

Karen - awesome on the loss!

Jo - your holiday sounds amazing!

Nancy - you have no idea how many times DH said the same thing!

Lisa - I have weighed in, but only to get my starting weight. I'm intrigued to see what will happen now I'm exercising!

Night all!

I too am intrigued. It could really go either way (scale only) Kelly so don't judge, okay? I have this funny story - I can't remember - this woman was on this fitness program and after a month she came to quit with the trainer because she had not lost an ounce. And as she was arguing with him - he looked down and she was holding on to her pants because they were falling off. :rotfl2:

But she still quit. :lmao:

Because her mind was bloody irrational.

I've begun to believe - with the exception of those who white knuckle their losses over time - that a rational mind is one of the most successful factors in keeping weight - or should I say SIZE - off.

Thank you Lisa I do feel like I lost, the scale however does not show me the love.

Kelly, will you have to pay each time you go to WW now until you get back under the 5 pounds? Or are you still a lifetime memeber?

Jo, can you see it as well as feel it? I really feel like I can - I wasn't just being polite. Any changes in clothes? Simply curious.

Morning all!

How close are you to the 5 pounds? I forget - if I wasn't so lazy I would look back. :goodvibes

North American WW is two pounds - I think. :rotfl2: How irrational. Two pounds could be eating a rancid food or a humid day for most people - EASY for a larger frame.

Five is much more rational.

But then again Erika told me that five could be more than one size for her - so maybe they need to realize that not everyone is the same and not do one blanket rule . I could be close to twenty pounds and still wear the same clothes - really. (obviously not as nicely though :lmao:)

Ok so I did weigh in yesterday and I was down 2.4 pounds. This was unexpected. I have been consistent at the same weight for awhile that I expected a much slower loss. Oh looky here. Pompous thinks I'm talking about her. :rotfl2: :goodvibes :wave2:

Oh I get to sit by my mailbox AGAIN. Yeah! You better not make me look like an idiot PIPSQUEAK. :goodvibes

Crap - I can't even find what I wanted. My brain these days.

I did want to say that I'm happy that you've had this time with Rey. Life is funny, eh? I hope he continues to do well.

OH!!!! Your trip - that's it! Tell me all about it.

Yes Lisa I do feel it in my clothes. I ran 10 miles yesterday, I have a half coming up in a few weeks. I now need to stop eating like a hog. :rotfl:

Lisa, I'm 6lb over the 5lb limit :rotfl:
But, like Liz said, I've got under a stone to lose!

In all honesty I don't think the scale will move too much for me, but as long as clothes start to feel more comfortable I won't care. It's strange, but I can already feel *some* changes in my body, parts are starting to tone up. Plus, I have more energy through the day, I'm less lethargic and I'm sleeping better!

Lisa, I have a question (about my grandad), but I don't want to ask it just yet (if that makes sense?). It's nothing bad, more of a 'does this sound familiar' kind of question. I can pm you if you'd prefer, or if you don't want I won't ask! :rotfl:

Good - I mean good on the you can feel it too. Listen, there was one point in my life that I did Jillian. And it's strange - I can't say there was a big change in size Jo BUT I do know that my body changed. That I know. Mainly hamstrings.

Can't wait to hear about your half.

Lisa, I'm 6lb over the 5lb limit :rotfl:

So curious about the scale. Can't wait to hear. No, I don't think it's strange that you feel changes already. Listen, those people who say "not possible" - BULL. Jean and I joke about her upper legs and my lower. We build instantly - could be doing stairs one day etc. But with you starting out there - you must feel on top of the world. Nancy and I say this all the time - it's the head/mental pay off that has the most meaning for us.

And I think you have one of the best frames for fitness :thumbsup2- Tall and not bulky stature/bones Kelly. I'm envious - I have to so careful what I do in fitness (I'm sure you can all guess the body part!!!:lmao:)

As for your grandad. Yes I understand on the not asking just yet and any way you do it is F.I.N.E. for me - here or PM- I'm absolutely fine with either - do what works best for you when the time comes.

Smiling cause right now you're sleeping wonderfully because of the gym! :yay: Unless you watched one too many of your murder mysteries. :lmao:

Liz - you're on my mind.

Oh and I forgot to say - Nathan had his baby - well Annie actually had it :rotfl: - a boy, Xavier. Jean and I were both ill when he came so we haven't even seen him yet. His sister Avayah is hysterical with him (as in possibly annoyed by his birth ;)) but his big brother is overjoyed.

AND Jean has her theatrical debut this week. And is beyond thrilled. I forgot all this time to say that. Community theatre.

Congrats to Nathan, I am still in awe over what you did for him. You are an amazing person.

Yay for Jean, what is her part?

Thank you Jo - but I've said it before no one is going to watch a young man die and that's what he would have done - I believe. But of course - you're a mother - so the choices would have been a lot more difficult. The children - their children - made the choice very easy. And Nathan has a long road ahead still. He's decided to have pancreatic transplant as his type I diabetes did this to his kidneys. And that's one serious transplant. Sighing.

Jean is THRILLED about her role. She's this woman who has a head injury and is a cab driver ::rotfl2: And that's all I'm allowed to know. Oh she has a white sister. :lmao: The play is called BEDTIME STORIES (she's Yolanda). But I've stopped myself from reading up. I do know her lines - because I've practised (MKK I think of you every time I type these! Smiling. )them with her - but they make no sense to me out of context.

So days full of tremendous pain and joy. First my niece is pregnant again so I'm going to be a Great Aunt again. (I had to hold my joy for her and watch my voice since my father had just phoned an hour before with news below and there was no reason to let her know since my father's decision was not made - plus didn't want to let pain into her joy (as long as it can be kept).

EDITED: My mom has just been called for a opening in a home and my father has 24 hours to make the decision. And there's a tremendous amount of pain around it all.

Lisa- my heart goes out to you and your father. There are no words I can offer that will change things and really whatever emotions you are feeling you should let yourself feel. Just know we are all here for you.

Me? Yeah, my crown is tarnished and collecting dust....time to work on that!

<digs thru closet, looks under bed> crown. Crown. I know I had one somewhere? What in the blazes did I do with that crown? :confused3

a rational mind is one of the most successful factors in keeping weight - or should I say SIZE - off.

A rational mind! That's what I've been missing :lmao:

AND Jean has her theatrical debut this week. And is beyond thrilled. I forgot all this time to say that. Community theatre.

You *forgot* to mention Jean's performing in the theatre? FORGOT? :faint: You're killing me. You know that right? :goodvibes

Becca is starting rehearsals tonight for Cheaper By the Dozen. She got the role of the mother. :thumbsup2 She's taking her American Girl Bitty-Baby doll with her to rehearsal. because she has an infant.

---------

Lisa - I wish there were magical words that could make everything *right* in the world again. :grouphug: It's so, so hard. On so many levels. Supporting your dad is probably one of the most important things you can do. He'll need it. You'll need it too. :flower3:

 thank you for listening to my emotions. As I know you both understand. It helped.

He went with her and toured the one that came up and hated it - the room - everything. And decided no - he couldn't do it.

So different worries because he's stubborn to get help from his friends. My parents have the social life of twenty year olds - if one friend did an hour or two a month times whatever - that would help.

Anyway, he is going to get more respite for now. He has other options - more day program hours.
