I just got back and have Sprint, and the service thoughout WDW was generally horrible. My suggestion is to turn off data for most of your trip to save your battery, as otherwise your phone will be struggling when you go in and out of buildings and it'll really destroy your battery life. This worked wonders for me. I would turn off 4g and 3g, only turning it on a few times a day when I checked the Lines app (which as an aside, you MUST get).

I have a Galaxy SII (Epic Touch), for what it's worth.

Wow, we have Sprint, EVO 4G and EVO shift and had no problems whatsoever. Now, my MIL has Verizon and some kind of Samsung phone and she did nothing but complain about it having issues while we were at WDW.

Unfortunately, the sim card we use in our iPhone when we're in the US works on sprint.
The coverage in WDW is absolutely the worst.
To get a line at pop century we had to go outside of the room.

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

I stayed in the Cars section and had no issues at all with my Verizon phone. The reception was pretty decent in all the parks, though sometimes when you wait inside some of the buildings reception gets a little spotty.

Just returned from our stay at the Lion King suites with my 2 friends!! I was beyond impressed with everything!! A little background: We are all mid 20s, my 2 friends are boyfriend and girlfriend. They took the room with the queen bed and I had the living room to myself with my choice of bed. I alternated each night to try and see which is better. The pull down bed from the wall felt no different then a regular mattress and I was shocked! I was really worried I wouldn't be able to sleep on either bed and it would have been a waste of money but that wasn't the case!!

We loved the food court options, didn't have a noise issue.

Our only issue was the terrible phone service we had. We were in Lion King building 6, third floor. We all have AT&T iPhone's, i'm the only one with the new 5, they have the 4S. We barely had any service, and could not connect to Wifi. We did notice how the service dramatically improved (I even had LTE) when we walked over to the Little Mermaid section.

Hope that helps someone!

Read some where that AoA serves REAL coffee? Even if you have to purchase, can someone confirm this?

Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but I have not read the previous 101 pages!
I am considering a standard room. Do any buildings have elevator access to the upper floors? I can do the stairs, but at the end of the day my arthritic knees complain....

There are elevators in the building with suites but I am pretty sure not in the LM buildings.

The standard room buildings in the Little Mermaid section have elevators in the center area for upper floor access.

Nope -- no reports of any "real" coffee. The coffee options at AoA are:

1. Standard Disney Nescafe in the food court.
2. Pod-style coffee makers in the suites. This may be where the "not Nescafe" idea is coming from.

I can confirm LM has elevators to all floors.

Actually, Lion King might be better. Look for building #10. There are staircases on either end of the building on the outside, but your aunt will probably need to enter through the courtyard entrance and use the elevator.

Can some one please tell me that they don't have smoking right outside the door of the food court?
Like it is over at Pop

Sorry...that is exactly where it is!

We stayed here during our first visit to wdw from September 22-29. We were beyond impressed with everything. It was our first so I don't really have nother Disney resort to compare it to. I have Sprint and a 4s and had great service while at our hotel but not in the parks?

We have already decided we will do everything in our power to return to wdw for fall break in 2013 and are trying to decided if we should stay here again since we were so impressed or give another value resort a shot?:confused3

We stayed in the Little Mermaid section and I was extra happy since that is my favorite Disney movie!

sadly it's true. If you're a non-smoker I strongly recommend you do not eat in the Little Mermaid section right by that door - you can smell the smoke when the wind is blowing. Also don't sit on that end of the Nemo pool (you can smell it there too).

I spoke to the resort manager (he happened to be on the desk one day) and complained (politely) about the location of that smoking area. He seemed to note it but I doubt somehow it will be moved unless a whole lot of people complain. I didn't know POP had one similarly located. That was our only complaint during our stay.
