NO heat yet. I will argue with DW about it until December.

We are out Friday. No plans yet except for Avengers.

We try to make it to November at least, and then push it as far as we can, but anytime after we hit November there doesn't have to be any consultation. Either one of us is free to throw the switch if we think it's necessary.

Enjoy Avengers. Still haven't seen it but it's the DMC selection (DW has an account) and she'd probably turn it down, but the mailer disappeared. :rolleyes1

We went apple picking Sunday. The apples were really big this year. Friday is the 3rd annual family pie bake off. DS and DD get to use premade crust, while the adults have to be more inventive.:scratchin I am defending the title this year after losing to DS the first year. Have a great time. :thumbsup2

the apples at the place we went were HUGE!! Never seen apples so big. From what I hear they also ripened earlier than expected all over the area.

DW was all over pinterest when we got home with plans for our apples. Let's see what comes out of it.

No heat, we were just discussing the fireplace going. You need to put one on for the fall. It provides just enough extra heat if needed. The best part is to just hang with the family and enjoy the fire.

This will be our 3rd fall/winter season with a fireplace. I still haven't mastered the art of getting the fire going and keeping the smoke out of the room. I have to keep the glass closed, and that makes it nice to look at, but doesn't seem to allow us to feel the heat benefit.

maybe this year I'll stumble upon the correct combination of open windows/log stacking/flu opening, and get a nice, enjoyable fire!

Did some work on the plane? How did you do that with the plane flying? Wait, did you buff out the fingermarks on the wing from the gremlins?

you can only get to the very bottom of the tires when the plane is in the air, either before they retract the landing gear, or after they lower it for landing. It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it.

Thanks for info. I think there used to be four stations, one on each side for a total of 8 bins. Well, instead of just trick treating on right or left side, we went to both sides. Lots of candy.

Sound exhausted just reading it. Good to see you back.

We did them one year, but now, just rides.

i used to let mine nap in afternoon so they could stay up later for party. Don't forget to get your authentic Halloween party stuff while there. We get one pin each year and their not sold outside MNSSHP.

Hey guys.....

been real busy what with work, we're slowly building up to Thanksgiving, meaning extra busy, not to mention prepping for the new assistant next week, and a week after that the new boss. :sad2: Also bad is staff wise we're streched thin already, and illness and misfortune are taking more out.

Also though, on pins and needles cause the word on the next round of transfers should be in the next couple of days. New store opens in less then a month, so they gotta staff it to get it ready post-haste. We'll see, the District Manager is going to be making rounds soon.

When we did the Pirate and Princess Party, Amelia just wanted to do the dance parties, not as much in the MNSSHP. We did everything spread out over two parties.

If you are going to do any photos, do the Haunted Mansion ones, they look great.

Here were the two poses offered at the HM in 2010

Good morning everyone, thanks guys for the tips, I've seen the party t shirt wasn't very impressed but would love to get a pin, I already have a few of the Halloween ones but not an actual party one

Those are awesome pics, I can't wait

Morning...

Two more days. Then fun in Anaheim.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 One day we'll get to Anaheim...

I got the T-shirt, it was okay, not spectacular. I was more excited to get the Haunted Mansion one with the originial attraction poster on it. I remember we got a couple of pins too. The onr souviner we couldn;t find were the Mickey-ghost popcorn buckets, sold out everywhere. We did get the very last (at the time) Ichobad Crane/Headless horseman bucket after DW begged and pleaded at every stand, till they found one at Sleepy Hollow. :rotfl2:

Good Day Men!

hey norm, i noticed last week when on the people mover, that walk way was open and had the wood cutout things along the path way. i didnt go to the party but i would assume they set the stations up. maybe randall noticed if they had the stations set up. :thumbsup2

Not sure where this is. :confused3

We only stopped for candy once, it was enough candy for the kids.

Just have a regular cell phone, there is nothing smart about it at all:lmao:

Haha that's awesome, I wish WDW had the jack skellington popcorn buckets like DL has

‘Morning all.

I’ve a general question for those that may have ever dealt with such…

I succeeded in upsetting a long muscle or two in my lower back and I’m looking for ideas on topical and/or over-the-counter type meds that will help get those bad boys to relax a bit.

In fifty years I’ve never once had any back issues, then last night I do nothing more then bend over to pick something up and: zamm! It felt like something just kind of moved or shifted (muscle that is, it’s not near any of the bones). So far I’ve just used ibuprophen and rest and it’s considerably better but there’s still some pain to deal with depending on how I move. Any ideas or similar stories out there y’all might care to share?

Hey norm, what do y'all normally do on MNSSHP nights? Some people have said there's too much goin on for rides, just curious what most people do

Good Morning Gentlemen! Jumping in as well. We always do rides. The lines are short and don't miss the Haunted Mansion all spooked out. We trick or treat on the walk between rides and usually do a couple of the meet/greets. We watch the last villians show, second parade and Hallowishes,of course. Then we ride out the balance in tomorrowland. Have a great time!

When I got up this morning, the kids had made breakfast for dad.:stir: I have awesome kids!:cool1: We had pancakes, toast and.....wait for it......BACON!:rotfl2::lmao:. It was the precooked bacon, but bacon is bacon. Have a great day guys.pixiedust:

I have used Robaxacet and Tylenol Muscle and Back in the past, both have helped. A heating pad will also help keep things loose. Hope it gets better soon, nothing worse than back pain.

Do you have sliding doors to a deck or yard? We usually open the sliding doors for a few minutes and it gets the fire lit, no smoke and going well in about 3-4 minutes. Windows don't provide enough airflow in our house either. You could also try the Duraflame Stax logs just to get it going. It shows you how to stack them and they start quickly. Good luck.

We picked up a LE pin set last year based ont he haunted mansion. There are 4 pins shaped like coffins with characters on them. I'll try to post a pic when I can. Anyone at the parties that may be willing to buy 2 pins for my kids, it would be appreciated. PM me and I'll send a check and info right away. They have been collecting each year for the last 5 years, but sadly:sad: no more parties for us as the oldest is in 7th grade and we won't pull him out of school. Glass half full - We can go without the kids in 8 years once they are both in college.:scratchin
