Quick question- I've never done the pillowcase or frame thing. When you drop the markers and item of choice of at gs you get the sharpies back right? I just bought a bunch of different colors today and wow, they are expensive lol. Do I include a note? How does this work exactly? I got one frame matte for my son and one for my daughter. I'm getting a bag of candy tonight...is there a special kind I should look for that everyone has noticed that the crew prefers? Thank you so much!!!!!

Sometimes, yes. Sometimes, no. Maybe if you add a note asking that the sharpies be returned also, you'll get them.

When you drop the stuff off at Guest Services, they have a little request form to fill out (which characters, room number)

I wrote my name and stateroom number on the back of my frames, with the word "up" and a big arrow so the CM's would know I was going to frMe a vertical photo, not a horizontal one.

When I was on the Magic over the summer, I did two pillowcases in bags with Sharpies, one for my room and one for my niece's room. I had 9 Sharpie markers in one and 5 markers in the other. I included a thank you note and bag of candy in both bags. The bag with the 5 markers came back with all the markers, but the bag with the nine markers came back with only 5 markers as well. So it is possible you may not get them back even though they mark on the sheet when you drop the things off how many markers were included in each bag (the sheet was even still inside the bag when the stuff was returned.)

If anyone is concerned with getting their markers back, you could always put an address sticker on them or something like that. I'm sure they probably do all these at once and don't know whose is whose in the end.

Is this really worth all the expense and trouble?
Does anyone have a photo they could post so I could see the finished product of the autographed mat?

I'm so with you on this! If I'm buying the pillowcase, sharpies and candy "tip", wouldn't it just be easier to do the signatures myself?

On the Wonder this month I left my photo mat in the cellophane wrapper I bought it in, then I put 8 different colored sharpies in a ziplock bag inside of the cellophane. I wrote my name and room number on both the bag of sharpies, and the back of the photo mat.

When I turned it in, they asked me if I wanted portrait or landscape, and how many sharpies I had, and wrote both on the form to be turned in. I got all items back exactly how I sent them.

Here are pics: (sorry for bad quality)

The mat. Ours holds a 8x10 photo

We did pillowcases on the Dream and got our whole bag of Sharpies back. Our girls use them everyday (against my recommendation otherwise!). Signatures are all the unique signatures from the various characters. They asked if we wanted as many as possible, so the case is thoroughly covered with everybody.

Anybody know if they would accept the large white blank Vinylmations? We are on the Fantasy in December.

How does the frame thing work? Can you buy this on the ship or do you have to bring from home? When do the characters sign this? Thanks!!

You will need to buy it and bring it with you. You can buy it from a craft store, frame store, or maybe Walmart? Just turn it into guest services, and they will fill out the form posted above, and deliver it back to your room.

Hi- what is the "pillow case thing"????

You may drop off at Guest Services a (photo mat, photo frame, pillowcase, whatever), along with sharpies in a plastic bag to be signed by the characters. It will be returned to your room at the end of the cruise. Limit 2 items per room.

great thread- sorry for adding my own question- how do you actually "package" the photo mat when you hand it in? So I bought 2 mats and a bunch of the large ziploc bags. I will buy sharpies and candy- do I put the mats in individual bags with markers in each and a bag of candy in each? if so, wouldn't the mat be bent or damaged with all of those things rubbing up against it? I bought a mat and frame together so the mat is not individually wrapped- I will take it out of the frame and bring it in a padded mailing envelope. Thanks! I'm so confused!!
