The Dis Goes to Italy 5/24 - 6/1/2012 Viva Italia!!!!

Oh Lauren what a day! Good wishes and thoughts for Jeri are now on quadruple overdrive!

I love the Venice after dark pages, and the cover is terrific. I don't want you to finish! It's too much fun getting my Lauren scrapbook page fix on a regular basis.

Seeing an installment of "Life with Lauren" makes my day.

Sorry to hear about all the family issues - but you've got to admit ... the bit about the missing car is too too funny :lmao::lmao:
I laughed so hard I bounced the dog right off of my lap last night. She wasn't pleased, but a cheddar doggie cookie seemed to help make ammends.

:goodvibes Sending good thoughts for Jeri :cheer2:

Heather,

I read you foodie blog post and loved it. I loved John's as well. What part of Italy is your family from? The cheese sounds fantastic.

They are from San Antonino, close to the French border. The cheese is fantastic, especially both the regular and the dry jack. I'm glad you liked the story. I also totally loved John's Nabisco piece.

Those are great. Where did you find the Mickey world? I love it. The pages are really great. Do you send it off and have it bound? Jack did that for our fifth anniversary. It was such a nice present and a total surprise. He worked on it at night after I had gone to bed.

Cathie

The Mickey world came from a digi designer that I love called Sahlin Studios. She got some cute House of the Mouse kits that aren't too kiddie. I am planning on getting it printed through Shutterfly. I always try to wait for a sale though! There's one going on this weekend, but I've made myself accept that I'm not going to make it without staying up all night so I need to let it go because they'll have another one around the holidays. This is me, letting it go... That was wonderful of Jack to put together a book for you. They take so much work but are so worth it!

Oh, Lauren! Sorry you had such a stressful day but glad everyone made it through. Good luck to Jeri! Positive thoughts headed his way for the interview. I thought of you today...I was driving through the square in town and guess what was filming!! You got it...TVD. I thought I saw Ian but it must have been his stand in. From a distance, I could have sworn it was him but as I got closer I realized it wasn't. Must have been wishful thinking!

That is a dreadful let down. James McAvoy did that same thing to me when they were here filming. I have 20 photos of his double and one of the back of his head while he smoked. :crazy2: I did get some photos of Robert Redford though so it wasn't a wasted trip three blocks over.

I'm here to entertain! :joker:

Here's a couple pages of the Vatican Museum! I feel like I need a how to shoot photos in a museum class. Mine always seem to come out funky colored. And I didn't take enough. It seems like I can either look at something OR take a photo of it, but apparently I can't do both.

Jeri is almost done with the backbreaking part of installing our new fence this weekend! And then it's just the prettifing which is less hard. I can't wait. The view outside my window already looks so much better. And now it's over eight feet so even my tallest guests can't be spied upon! :thumbsup2

Jeri still doesn't know about the new job. We're kind of getting a little down about it. But I did point out that there wasn't another thing we could have done to help him get that job, so if he didn't get it then it wasn't meant to be his. But who am I kidding? Disappointment always stinks.

We still don't have a baby niece. She's hanging in there! At this point I have asked my sister to have the kid on the weekend just to make it easier for everyone. She thinks I was kidding! :duck:

According to my timeline it's 84 days to 4.0. I can't wait to see you all and swap hugs!

It was a bit of a let down...but I'll live. ;)

The waiting is always the worst part. I hope that he gets word soon!

It's always disappointing when people won't live their lives by your schedule...what is she thinking? Of course, you weren't kidding. ;)

Yay! I feel like I'm doing everything last minute. I just booked my flights, my transfers, and my room at POR for the night before the cruise. I'm so used to having everything booked so far out that a little over 80 days out seems like I'm cutting it close. I still have got to think about excursions...that is if anything good is left. Either way, I'm so excited to see everyone!!

Oh, I love the new pages!! I'm going to be sad when we don't have anymore pages to look forward to.

I've been on a travel blog kick recently. I've been reading several different blogs of people that are traveling around the world and blogging about it. I would love to be one of them right now. I've been daydreaming about selling everything, paying off all my debt, saving some money, and hitting the road.

This was on my suggested reading list through Amazon.

Havent read it yet...so this is just a blind recommendation....but for $3.99, I'm willing to give it a shot!

It sounds like something we've all considered.

Totally giving this one a shot. Thanks!

Oddly enough, I've never considered being a "count who served as a model for statues of naked horsemen." ;)

But if ya had, I would SOOOO make a scrapbook page about it! :bitelip:

Got our new ABD catalog yesterday. Whatever they pay those guys in marketing isn't enough. Those photos made me want to go on every single one of those trips! I was looking at the South Africa one and Jeri says, you know those cats are going to be grown up by the time you get there, right. Kill joy!

Just got off the phone with Donna! We are paid up and ready to AquaDuck!

And this is the end of the road folks! Our last scrapbook page for you all to look at. Now comes the very tedious part of getting each page ready to be loaded into Shutterfly. You would think I would make all the tweaks I need to do to print while I'm actually scraping, but I don't. 'Cause I'm a big dummy! But I've already caught a couple of mistakes looking at the older layouts with fresh eyes so I suppose it's worth it. It only feels thankless! I'll post a link when the book is loaded up so you can see the finished product!

When's our next adventure! :moped:

So I didn't let it go. I've stayed up way too late for three nights running to get this thing done so I could by it while it was on sale! :goodvibes I am so tired!
I'm glad you guys liked looking at all my work. Doing one of these really is a labor of love, and I couldn't have done it without you guys!

And, yeah, I teared up a little when I got it all loaded and saw it scroll through for the first time. Shut up!

Beautiful pages, Lauren. I don't want you to be finished! Isn't there some rule that you have to keep going until the next trip starts?

I'm glad to receive the reading suggestions just in time to blunt scrapbook page withdrawal.

Now I just need someone to FedEx me some of those starfish pastries...

Ditto. I am in violent agreement.

You have also to let us know about Charlotte and Jeri's news too.

I'm going to try and make the Kouign Amann pastry mentioned by a NY Diser. It looks really tasty. If it approaches starfish status, I'll let you know.

I'm having withdrawals already....
