First off good morning DisDads!!!

Excellent books Don! I need to find the flash photography one, I have read the exposure one.

Matt

Yeah Matt the second one I had to wait and wait. But when they got it I saw 5 all together. I believe I checked for a month every once and a while. Always asked the info person. Maybe they got annoyed and just ordered it so I wouldnt ask them anymore lol.

Morning...can't really say good right now though.

I just heard that a friend from high school passed away yesterday. He had a 2 year old son and a pregnant wife. Makes you do a lot of thinking.

Sorry to hear that Andy. Makes you do a lot of thinking indeed.

Same way I felt when I lost two of my uncles within a year of each other....both still in their 50's. Both seemed perfectly healthy.

Hang in there.....and hug that family of yours!

Sorry to hear Andy. It def. makes you think about what's important, and how lucky we are.

Last night we took the girls to the theatre to see ParaNorman. Great movie. Audrey got "scared" a few times, but still good for kids. We saw it in 3D too.

Observations:

-Our favorite AMC theater is now a Cineplex one. Really a shame, we were big AMC fans, they had better service. Same theater we saw Fantasia 2000 in, and there was a brief sound synching issue, which prompted them to give us vouchers to come back for free (the problem was soon fixed). This time the first couple of minutes the 3d wasn;t working right, things were blurry. DW went to complain, they offered her new glasses until someone else came out and complained too, and the guy checked for himself and then it got corrected. No such compensation was offered.

-No wonder things are tough, there was no one there. Our showing had a whopping 12 people in it. We got out around 8:30, and we fely like we were the only ones there. Bunch of employees hanging about the lobby, that was it. A 16 screen theater, Friday night was deserted. I have a feeling we're going to go to another theater soon, this one might not be around much longer.

Andy, so sorry to hear that. You are right, it makes you think.

Morning guys,

Back from the Keys and drop the guests off at the airport tonight. No diving because of shoulder issues and my friend's son has mental health issues so it was a bit challenging at times. Still had a great time.

But today is College Football day so all I need to say is...

GOOOOOO GATORS! Beat A&M!

Thanks for the prayers, his family definitely needs them.

We had our second big rain in 2 Weeks. Too little too late for the corn crop, but I think our risk of field fires this fall has been greatly reduced. Last night really put how dry the ground is in perspective. I have about 10 acres on my property that is low lying ground at the base of a hill. Typically, if we have a 2 inch rain, it well be under standing water for at least a couple of days. We had over 3 inches last night and I have been outside working this morning and haven't found a puddle anywhere.

Dont know if I posted this one or not I have so many!

Quiet in here today.

Actually pretty quiet here as well. We took DS to his first funeral today, our sister-in-law's grandmother passed away a few days ago and today was the service. DW asked him what he thought and it said it was kind of boring.

More than once I've wished for your healthcare. I have had guys from Missouri ask if I was from Canada.

No matter what people tell our healthcare is definitely not free. Taxes taxes taxes! 1.30/ liter for gas, 13 % sales tax, and my taxes at the end of the year. That is just to get started.
(1 gallon is just shy of 4 liters.....for my American friends)

A coworker went to Canada recently and said they crossed back over every time they needed gas, I'm assuming you would be doing that if you were near the border
