bumping this thread for 2 reason

1st : reality check, lol, you got me thinking about wearing that go pro around the parks, lol. I'll keep mine for more "extreme" activities

2nd : I gave in and ordered a Playsport zx5 through amazon.fr (worked 30€ less than other sites)
And if I'm bumping this thread it's because something really made me smile this morning when I unpacked my video camera.

Look on the front side, left of the lens, and look at what it says ...

(for those who don't have one, here's a pic)

wasn't that camera definitely made for us ? :rotfl2:

Ha ha love it!
Let me know what you think of the playsport after having a play around with it, We are getting our next wk and I stuck between the playsport and the panasonic which is a bit more.

Well I'm a bit stuck still I think I have narrowed it down to the playsport "I love it and think it will for great for the price"
DH really likes the look of the panasonic (green or orange one that looks like a gun ) but we can't find any footage or video clips that have been done with it!!

We have seen loads of clips of the playsport thanks to wayne and YouTube so anybody who has either used both or knows anything about them could you tell me what you think about them both

Thanks

found a few videos (mostly promotional) for the pana WD10

but first a few pros and cons for the panasonic (in my opinion)

pros :
higher CMOS resolution than kodak
more powerful teleobjective than kodak
It's unknown how long kodak will stick around, due to their financial problems. Actually in france for example many store have discontinued selling kodak products and I could not find one in store, had to go to amazon.

cons :
the retractable viewscreen might be a bit fragile, and the camcorder could become cumbersome to use on water slides for example.
I like the "smartphone" look and format of the ZX5
the panasonic is twice as expensive as the kodak. if you're already well equipped (camera wise) you might not want to put too much money in a video camera for the sole purpose of being waterproof

the ZX5 I received from Amazon shipped with an USB charger with a stock US mains plug, and a french adapter. This is perfect for our USA trips since we don't need a plug converter for the camcorder.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but has anyone any experience of the Canon D20? It's pricey but should take decent video, pics only 12mp though.

:)

Bulky and shutter lag seem to be its biggests negatives

Thanks for that link, have started looking to buy a camera for us as a family xmas present, with a view to using it at DLP and WDW next year. Originally wanted a Samsung with wifi but being swayed by waterproof ones now. I'd like a decent camera that takes good video, as opposed to a camcorder that takes pics. I think! :confused3

Not sure if you've bought one yet but I just had to post this!

Just received our 'back up' underwater camera for when our others run out but it looks like this will be our main one!

£35! It doesn't even look like it should be near water let alone submerged but it works and is fantastic! Just bought two more before we leave for the kids, very pleasantly surprised!

The picture is brilliant, playback with sound, very easy to use, small enough to slip in your pocket and it's only £35 on amazon! I think it's supposed to be £100.
