Oh MM .. were you getting into some hot water lately??? :teeth:

:rotfl: perfect!

 you two are providing much needed laughter today!! Love it!

Ginny... it is our great fortune that YOU joined us! :goodvibes Yeah for 600 posts!!

And Sam plays the flute .... hope she stays with it and joins the competition band next year. :goodvibes

Oh yeah...you know me....just sitting here in my evil lair thinking of horrible comments to post in order to :stir:

<<insert evil laugh here>>

And yay Ginny for 600 posts!!! :dance3:

Okay, back from my Evil Ron Weasley Torture Session. :faint: (Need to get plenty of these in so I can have my copious amounts of sweet / fattening things whilst on vacation. Vacation calories don't count anyway, or so I've been told. :rolleyes1

I hope our lovely hostess is doing okay... :worried: Positive thoughts to our Pas.

How did they notify you that you were picked? I love your choices and would definitely do the parade since that isn't something normally offered. It will be neat to see how it works! You have to report back!

Will definitely report back! :) It was via email. Lots of speculation on how people were chosen for the test though the consensus seems to be it was a group of people booked on the ME.

Hi Miss! That sounds awesome!! Are you limited to 4 choices?? I would add Splash ...and definitely like the parade choice.

Yeah, limited to one day, 4 choices but a maximum of 2 from each of two separate "categories" so the first category has:

  • BTMRR
  • Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
  • Main Street Electrical Parade (Standby)
  • Peter Pan's Flight
  • Space Mountain
  • Splash Mountain
  • Town Square: Meet the Princesses
  • Wishes (Standby)

And the second category has:

  • Celebrate A Dream Come True
  • Dumbo
  • Haunted Mansion
  • Jungle Cruise
  • PhilharMagic
  • Barnstormer
  • The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
  • Town Square: Meet Mickey & Minnie

I was torn on that first category between Splash and BTMRR but the kiddo has said she wants to "ride the train" again and has been going on about Space Mountain, so we'll have to do an ol' regular Fastpass for Splash, I think. (However that works in conjunction with this new-fangled thing! :confused3 )

I am pretty sure everyone in my office probably thinks I'm nuts because I just busted out laughing in my cube reading that bolded part!

:lmao: :thumbsup2

The "Hot Tub-as-Bathing Alternative" vacation was the same vacation where my mother-in-law insinuated that I told the front desk staff to make sure our rooms weren't near each other -- because they put us on opposite ends of the floor. :rolleyes1 She wanted to have connecting rooms. :faint: I learned a lot about my in-laws that trip. :lmao:

I am thinking about having IPO help me set up some type of birthday in-room celebration for DD8 (since we are celebrating her 9th birthday on our April trip). I am a little nervous that DD5 will be jealous, but we went to Disney for her 3rd birthday!!! (it's just that she might not remember so well...:rotfl: )
Maybe, I could order a little something for her too.

Oooooooh. Have you perused the cake thread? What do you think you might do? It's been hit-or-miss with me and IPOs on whether they just give the stock "Disney Florist / Private Dining" answer.

:wave2: Hi Peeps!

Trying to get acclimated to being back at work after the holiday weekend and the fact the school is IN. DD started back yesterday and it didn't go great. Missing her BFF and another close friend, plus, now that she's in 9th grade, the school no longer "teams" the kids so that means you no longer have clases within that group of kids ...Plus another friend is not being nice ... so its crappy petty teenage stuff.... On the other side, her BFF in Wisconsin didn't have a great day either ... so they commiserated last night by Skype; misery loves company I guess. Hopefully today is better, she seemed in okay spirits ... she has come a long way since elementary school.

On the plus side she likes most of her teachers, she is in the 9th grade marching band, PLUS the Friday Knights Marching band at the HS [open to 9th-12th graders.] They perform at the HS friday home games ... I am so excited for her!!

Sorry she had a less-than-stellar first day back. :( Hopefully her friend'll come around and the grey clouds will lift for the rest of the week. I am glad she likes her teachers and she's in BAND! Is this her first year for marching band? When we were out at Michigan State, Miss M and I sat down and watched the marching band practicing; I sat there mesmerized (in a non-creepy way, at least I hope). Loved it! :lovestruc

Missout, MM, The hot tub comments are making me laugh!! All I can think of is Jerry, when he refers to Kramer’s hot tub as a “human bacteria frappe”!!!
You probably won’t catch me in sitting in one either, by the way.

And…I just wanted to take a second on my 600th post to say how much I appreciate the RCers! I have such fun reading here. You guys are the greatest! :goodvibes

That's the perfect way to describe it: a human bacteria frappe! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl2:

Happy 600th! :goodvibes

Good Morning RCers!!!

Nothing really to say .... just wanted to stop by. Also wanted to add that one of my favorite things about this thread is how sweet, nice supportive (feel free to add any other kind adjective) everyone is. So wonderful to always have a comfortable place to come to.

Hello GG! :goodvibes Have you fully recovered from the moving? How's your daughter liking the new place?

Oh yeah...you know me....just sitting here in my evil lair thinking of horrible comments to post in order to :stir:

Missoutandabout - yay for getting picked for the FP thingy! My only thought about your list is that if you FP Dumbo, you skip the new interactive waiting area. It is soooo cute and the wait was never long going stand by. Twice we actually went up and had them reset our pager because the kids didn't want to stop playing to ride yet. :rotfl2: If you do end up using the FP, I'd still recommend making time to check it out another time :thumbsup2

Gwynne - congrats on your soon to be grandbaby! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I know there are a lot of you getting ready to go soon! How exciting!!! :hyper:

Hi to everyone else! :goodvibes

:darth:

I think I have finally recovered from the move .... all my hard work was worth it .... all of her friends are amazed that all the boxes are unpacked and all the pictures hung up! Super mom and dad to the rescue!!!

By the way all this talk this morning about germs is really bringing back bad memories of fleas!!! :scared1:

Hi everyone!! Lots of laughs catching up here today!!

Miss: WOW!! Wish we got to try the new Fastpass!:hyper: Although this close to our trip it would just give me something else to obsess over!!:rotfl:

Miss and Sarah: Are we still on for our pre-dinner meet up at Beach Club on the 20th??? Our reservation time is 6:30 pm::yes::

Candace: I love to see you and the other RCers pop in on other threads....some Disers are way too freakin serious and need to chill out!:hippie:

JanetB thanks for the wise words about DD's and their friends in school, it helps to have a different perspective from someone who has been there. I agree it will help them to learn how to roll with life.:)

GrumpyGrandma: I know what you mean...I love it here too!!

Well, this time next week we will be at the POLY!!!:cool1::banana::dance3: I am sooo excited now...life is good, and our DD's really deserve this. They are the best! Oh yes...and DH and I too!! Friday is our 10th anniversary, and we have decided that we are going to get another print when we are at Disney as our present. Shopping at WDW....heaven!!:cloud9:

Doh! I totally forgot about there being a new Dumbo! Pre-new ride, I forced my hubs to wait in the queue last year for it since he forced me to wait the year before. Both years, it was probably the longest (and hottest) wait. Does it go much more quickly now? And they have pagers?! Whoa, sounds fancy now! Hmmm...:scratchin

Yay! Pictures up, too? :goodvibes In all the times we've moved, there's something very comforting about having the pictures up on the walls; it really makes me feel like it's a home at that point.

Speaking of germs! Oh boy, sneezing and swollen glands abound here! :scared: And, now to start ODing on the Airborne and vitamin C... At least it's now and not in two weeks, I can get rid of these germs, I know I can, I know I can... just hope the kiddo and hubs don't get it. Heck, it's most likely germs FROM the kiddo! She's not too bad at sharing after all.

Miss: WOW!! Wish we got to try the new Fastpass!:hyper: Although this close to our trip it would just give me something else to obsess over!!:rotfl:

:rotfl: Seriously. I really didn't need to have something else to worry about. I think it's fixed though, I'm not going to bother changing any of those around.

Miss and Sarah: Are we still on for our pre-dinner meet up at Beach Club on the 20th??? Our reservation time is 6:30 pm::yes::

Marking it down on my handy-dandy spreadsheet. It's a date! :goodvibes How early do you think you guys will be arriving for your ressie? Maybe we can see if Teena is around and get a picture of the whole lot of us with her.

Well, this time next week we will be at the POLY!!!:cool1::banana::dance3: I am sooo excited now...life is good, and our DD's really deserve this. They are the best! Oh yes...and DH and I too!! Happy, happy decade of wedded bliss to you both! :goodvibes

It's really cool. It really isn't a traditional queue. It's an indoor (air conditioned!) play area for kids themed like the circus. When you check in they give you a pager to let you know when "it's your turn to fly" pixiedust:

Adults can sit (and check the DIS :rotfl2:) and littles can play on the climber until your turn. Then you go outside to the line where you get on the next loading cycle. I think we had a few 10 minute waits and one that was maybe 20 minutes or so. The posted wait times were waaaaaay off, but I think they were all in the 30-45 minute area.

We did Dumbo a lot just to let the kids get out of the August heat! :crazy2: It is nothing like the old Dumbo torture! :thumbsup2

Agreed! The new Dumbo queue is great! Even though the line was never very long at all. My girls actually got mad because they wanted to wait in line and it was time to go on the ride.

I may need to re-introduce myself:rolleyes:. I was away for two weeks and MUCH has happened on this beloved thread that I seemed to miss. I last left poor Jeanette on her way to the emergency room with suspected pneumonia. I remember it well, as I was waiting to enter the China 360 movie in Epcot. After that, the thread is a blur to me.

We got home late Thursday night after driving 14 hours from WL and Friday morning DD had her freshman orientation. Yesterday was her first day of high school and so far all is well, but you know how quickly that can change with a 13-year-old:duck:

In doing some quick scans recently, I noticed two disturbing RC items: Dearest Jeanette has broken her ankle and Dearest Janet's DS was involved in a very scary auto accident. (If there are other disturbing items I missed, please apprise me:flower3:).

Janet, give your DS another big hug for all of us and Jeanette, we're getting you a bubble wrap suit. Seriously, I'm usually worried about you on a good day, but now you've got me really worried. Please rest, nap, sleep, eat and repeat - and that's all!!!

I just finished a WL TR. I'd love to have everyone stop by:

I have to make dinner now and start working on my BLT TR soon and a million other things:upsidedow

Nice to see you back!

Gosh, I totally missed Jeanette and Janet's news  Big hugs for both of you!

I heart, Janet,
Thanks for your sweet words.:goodvibes

I heart and MM, I so appreciate the update on dumbo. We'll be taking 5yo gs in Nov, and I need to get up to speed on this information. I don't want to be an out of the loop nana! :rotfl:

Kook! It's kooktastic to see ya back on the boards. You've had a busy summer!
I have been stopping by the BWI thread, reading up before our stay. :dance3:

Good evening ladies…got a bottle of wine and my laptop and ready to catch up :goodvibes I don’t know why my days slip away from me so fast but it seems like between errands, carline, and homework, my day is over in the blink of an eye.

Marie Hope you get DH off smoothly and the time flies by so you’ll be in Disney before you know it. I have to tell you I finally parasailed a few years ago with my oldest DS, it was something I had always wanted to do. Well, maybe I was expecting too much, but I was very underwhelmed with the experience :confused3 It was fun, but definitely not the rush I thought it would be.

Basketlacey Did you ever find airfare? I am sure you will make the drive work if not.

Miss You are amazing with all that you have done! I wish I had a creative streak. I cant wait to hear how it all works out. Oh and you asked about kids going from early risers to sleepers….MINE ::yes:: Last winter vacation they shocked me by sleeping in. I knew at that moment my life changed from ever. The little ones used to be up by 7am on a good morning, but usually by 6 or so. Now DD can sleep til 9-10am and DS is usually up by about 8:30am (unless it is a school morning of course). And my big DS forget it, he can sleep til 2pm.

Oh exciting about the FP+ test! I heard that they were going to be testing again and reaching out to people soon, guess they have started.

Ginny Sounds like you have been busy, but a very good busy! Glad you were able to get all your WDW details sorted out along with the wedding details. I love when I get a special CM on the phone. I had one who heard DD chatting away in the back and asked to talk to her, DD LOVED it. Sometimes you just get the ones who love their job and are really there to assist.

Candace I know it is a tough call on how much to do for DD, but I have to say DS has never really gotten jealous and the CM’s usually always try to include him in DD’s bday somehow, even if it is a simple comment about him being the bday girl’s big brother. I have to tell you one of the reasons my DD is saying that she does want to go back to WDW for her bday is that she LOVES wearing the bday pin and sash, being dressed up like a princess, and EVERYONE wishing her a Happy Birthday…she isn’t an attention hog or anything

Janet Hope DD settles in and her BFF does as well. I cringe thinking about DD’s teen days. DS was so mellow and so easy, but I know the drama is coming!

Jen Happy 10th Anniversary!!! I know you are meeting up with everyone on the 20th, but maybe we can sneak something in when I am there the 15-17th.

i_heart hmmm, I wonder how Dumbo will work with DS’s GAC card, maybe we just wont use it so we can experience the queue. Glad to know of another A/C spot to “relax”. DH LOVES Carousel of Progress just so we can cool off and he can get quick nap :rotfl:

Kook Can't wait to read your report! We haven’t beenHto WL in years and are looking forward to our Feb trip there! I also havent been to CR since I was little but looking forward to our quick trip in Dec. I know you were at BLT but I am curious to read your thoughts.

Have a great evening everyone!
Melissa

Melissa: Another meet up sounds good....what did you have in mind?? :scratchinOr where??
15 we are at AK, dinner at Boma, 16 Epcot and DD, 17 MK, BBB and dinner CRT!

Miss: Good luck...isn't your DH's interview tomorrow?? If so, here is some pixie dust that all goes well...pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Ginny, Miss and Melissa: Thanks for the anniversary wishes!!! :goodvibes

Any word on poor Jeanette?:crutches:

Nice to see you back!

Gosh, I totally missed Jeanette and Janet's news  Big hugs for both of you!
Sorry we missed each other. I think we arrived the day before you left. Did you get any amazing upgrades this trip?

kook welcome back .... we missed you!
Missed you and all your 'grumpiness', too:hug:

Kook! It's kooktastic to see ya back on the boards. You've had a busy summer!
I have been stopping by the BWI thread, reading up before our stay. :dance3:
I hear you're a soon-to-be grandma again?! We expect pictures soon! Nice having you over on the BWI thread:hug:

We've stayed at CR many times, so if you have any questions, fire away!

Sorry, no idea on how the GAC works at the new Dumbo. :confused3 I would just talk with the CM at the entrance. He shouldn't have to miss out on the fun and I bet they have a good solution! :goodvibes

Sorry we missed each other. I think we arrived the day before you left. Did you get any amazing upgrades this trip?

No upgrades. We had to slum it in regular old TPV CL. :rotfl: No worries on missing each other. I'm glad you had another great WL trip! :goodvibes

Good morning! :wave2:

jenny we are definitely on for our meet before your dinner at CMC on the 20th?! I thought I would come down to the lobby, try to snag a couch in one of the alcoves and wait for whenever you guys all get there. It's great people watching and the couches are comfy! Does that sound like a plan? If I remember correctly you said you were bringing your iPad, so I thought I could email you our room number when we check-in, so if something changes you can call the room. AND Happy Anniversay !!!

missoutandabout, I think today's is your husbands interview. Thinking good thoughts :goodvibes, hope it goes well, then your thoughts can turn to WDW!

Grumpy Grandma, that's great your daughter is all settled. She must be relieved to be moved! How's the furbaby?

melissa, when are you going to be at WDW and where are you staying? We are 9/17 to 9/28 CL BC. It would be great to meet if we are there at the same time.

Pas’s ankle is recovering well …. She’s been dealing with the usual stress of back to school, doctor appts, working, being a mom …. :)

She wanted me to pass along that she misses everyone and hopes to be back on line real soon. :goodvibes

Jeanette ... we love you and can't wait to have you back!!!
